As you should!!👏🏼👏🏼 I do the same, it’s a great practice! I’m sure you will find yourself there one day and you’ll have all the recommendations at your fingertips 🤌🏼
Ahhh I was supposed to spend a month in Cusco in 2020 but it was cancelled. It looks amazing and I'm so excited to go next year! Thanks for all the recommendations again x
Cusco mems 🥰. The place that started off my travelling bug. Oooh Jack’s cafe - the milkshake haven! Would absolutely agree with pedicure post hiking too Loved the San Blas area too; that little courtyard has a fab market on the evenings. Man I need to go back to Cusco 🇵🇪
I had the same issue as you with chapped lips in high altitude while in Cusco. I found that the coco leaf lip balm doesn't work as well as the generic burt's beeswax lip balm that we get in the USA or the UK. Although when I went back to upstate New York, the coco leaf lip balm was better than the burt's beeswax lip balm. Something about high altitude and bee's wax works better for some reason.
Your videos are so insightful! I’m researching for my first trip to South America and already got a ton of valuable information on your channel. As I’m also going to be working while travelling I’m interested so know even more about the infrastructure and digital nomad lifestyle in these countries. Thanks and bon voyage
hahahaha. i was recently in a chocolate making class in Arequipa recording and Adrian said "oh there was another RUclipsr here Bananas something 🤣🤣🤣" and now you've popped up! Hi!
Yes! The next video to come is my Salkantay Trek! It is a whopping 55min vlog so just taking a bit longer to put together. There will also be a Rainbow Mountain vlog 😍
How was the altitude sickness? Did it affect you a lot? Did you take medication to help deal with it? I'm flying to Lima in March 2023 and the next day I'll be flying over to Cusco and I've read the altitude sickness can hit quite hard. Any tips is greatly appreciated!!! LOVE YOUR VIDS!!
I didn’t have any altitude sickness but also had a lot of time to acclimatise! I would recommend staying in cusco for at least a few days before you start hiking around to get used to it. But also medication can work well. Drink lots of coca tea!
Hello Top Banana ! Nice video, thanks :) Pleased to see your altitude issues are under control and you are no longer struggling. I have been watching your videos for years and been longing to ask two boring questions... and finally have decided to risk it! As someone who has been living out of a backpack constantly, since 2003 and therefore moving between countries/continents, outside the UK, almost all the time, i have encountered probems with online banking. My UK bank considers it as 'suspicious activity' when i try to connect from outside the UK, even when i tell them where i will be, in advance.. and i know i am far from being alone in this. Talking with other folk in similar situations, it seems to be an issue with whichever bank a person who is nomadic experiences. I tried using a couple of other vpns, in the past (not surfshark), to try to make it appear i was in the UK, but my bank only sensed this use of a vpn as being evidence of even more 'suspicious activity'... Sorry for the long preamble... So, my questions are : Do you find using a vpn hinders your attempts to do online banking when you switch it on and if so, have to found a way around it ? And... don't you find using a vpn noticeably dampens the strength of the wifi connectivity, impacting on upload speeds of your videos to youtube, for example ? If any other travelling people read this and have found a solution to online banking when abroad difficulties, please do share your wisdom, either here, or by contacting me, directly... i don't want to cause a 'log jam' on Backpacking Bananas comments section !!
Good question. - I had ENDLESS issues when I was with HSBC. I imagine it would be the same with all traditional banks. But now I use both Revolut and Starling and have had NO issues whatsoever, I absolutely love them and would HIGHLY recommend! No need to use VPN or anything. And yea sometimes using the VPN does make browsing a bit slower, so I have it switched on only when I need to make the most of its benefits 😊
@@BackpackingBananas Thank you for such a swift, open and informative reply. I was already thinking of opening an account with Revolut... whenever i am next in the UK and now a Top Banana recommendation has put it top of my things to do list ! Gracias :) Oh...and wishing you continuing happy travels.
Are you going to be away over Christmas? It’s my first time solo travelling (im 19) and also my first time away from home at Christmas. I had planned to travel until march but i am considering going home for christmas, i wont be able to come back out again afterwards though. Do you have any tips or advice on being alone in a different country over Christmas, or what your plans are? Thank you your videos really inspired me ❤❤
Yes I will be away for Christmas 😊 I love it 😅 but also have done it quite a lot now. It’s so fun, especially in a busy hostel! Normally the hostel will put on Christmas events and all the backpackers celebrate together, it’s cute. Do your research of which hostel you’d like to spend Xmas in beforehand!
Hi Emma, I spent my most beautiful Christmas evenings in hostels. Even in Myanmar! Find a hostel in your city that organizes a Christmas event. Selina Hostels are mostly very good.
I see you were there not long ago... How is the situation now? We fly in May to La Paz and think about going over to Peru and wonder if it makes sense - or to postpone it to another trip.
I do think hiking is the dominating activity in Peru. Unfortunately there are hardly scooters to ride about on 🥲 I miss that about south east Asia! But there are other towns in Peru where there are other activities as well. But really, Peru is a hiking-lovers haven
I really hope you have more Cusco videos to come , like with your hikes and stuff. Also I was wondering if there would be Pakistan vids? Sorry to moan but I just love your stuff I need mooooore 😂
Your tour guide looked very unenthusiastic! haha 🤣 Anyways... Cusco looked really cute and the architecture reminded me of Spain or Portugal. Excited to see what your next destination is! 😀
I feel the irritation at learning to speak Spanish then getting a reply in English so much. I grew up speaking Spanish to my dad - I'm not fluent as I got bullied in school for getting my languages confused and refused to speak Spanish for 10 years, but I can easily hold a conversation and it frustrates me no end to feel like I learnt for nothing!😅
Everytime you recommend something I mark it on my map as a place to go! As if I’ll just happen upon them 😅
As you should!!👏🏼👏🏼 I do the same, it’s a great practice! I’m sure you will find yourself there one day and you’ll have all the recommendations at your fingertips 🤌🏼

You deffo need to go back to Cusco 😏🤌🏼
@@BackpackingBananas I’ve got my eye on South America for summer 2024 👀
That last quiet part was cute 🥰😘
I went to Peru, MP and Cusco in 2014 and loved it. Been anticipating this. I can't wait to go back.
The best place ❤️
This life is really so comfortable!🥰
Love the tip on the WiFi. becoming more important for us as we get more into RUclips traveling.
Good luck love .. its great to see you enjoying yourself..
Thank you ❤️

These dry lips are SUCH a pain in the arse at high altitude 🥲
@@BackpackingBananas It really does happen to us all 😅 don't worry about it, you look great!
Welcome to my country, don't forget to visit Mancora, Huaraz, Macchu Picchu also you can eat ceviche with Inka kola soda drink. Have fun!
Already on it Kevin 😉
We spent 5 months in South America in 2014/15 and watching you makes me want to go back and do it all again!
Porque no? 😎
@@BackpackingBananas We’re thinking we might do a 10 years later trip 😃

Ah im so pleased they are useful ❤️❤️
Great vlog wonderful Christie!!! 💖 Cusco looks like a beautiful city!!!
Cusco looks amazing - super excited to visit this year!
You look really happy in Cusco.
I had the loveliest time! Such a fab city 😊
That was a nice looking hostel. I can see why you stayed there. That beer did not sound like a good brew, btw. Looking forward to next video!
Hahaha it was more like a cider! It was alright but I think I prefer regular beer 😅
You should come back some day! 😊
Seeing the cute alpacas reminded me that you ate one in the other video ... yuck! lol!
😂😂 that’s the backpacking life in Peru

Yes! The next video to come is my Salkantay Trek! It is a whopping 55min vlog so just taking a bit longer to put together. There will also be a Rainbow Mountain vlog 😍
Best series
Really good to watch.👍😊
Thanks😊
Great video!
I just love love you.Ery informative videos allthe time.

Ah they are so close 😅 deffo can pop over on your next trip to Ecuador!
Nice 🎉 did u get used to the high altitudes
Thanks for including AUD when converting your expenses in prior vids in this series.
One Q - did you catch a bus or fly between Arequipa and Cusco?
Pleasure 😊 gotta look out for my beloved Aussies! 😎 I caught a night bus
Hi... I just wanna ask where you get the pink glasses from? Its sooo cute 🥰 enjoy your travel
Thanks 😊 they are Kylie Minogue

I was there before all of the political issues started kicking off so I’m afraid I have no idea what the situation is like there now
Noticed the Kokopelli wristband, you didn’t like that one? It was my fave, still have the band
I did like Kokopelli! Just wasn’t my fave as the location of Nao Victoria tipped it into first place 🙈

@@BackpackingBananas excellent!
Did you meet Paddington bear's relatives?
I don’t think so? 😅 do they live in cusco?
Are you getting much chance to practice Spanish? I noticed the tour guide was also replying in English 🤦🏼♂️
I do still get to practice quite a lot! But yes I do find it frustrating when I try speaking Spanish to people and they reply in English 🥲
I watched another backpacking video with Cristianne. Thanks Love
😎

He was quite unethusiastic it’s true 🥲 nice guy though but I did wish he made things sound more interesting!
Wifi in cafes are not good in Cusco. It’s better to stay in an Airbnb.
I had pretty good wifi in a few different cafes there! It was hit and miss in finding the good ones 😅

Are you watching bald and bankrupt vlogs at the moment?
