I had put this video in a queue, I didn't initially recognize what was in the thumbnail, but after you mentioning knowing some history of GMod and the thumbnail I went to look at it in the queue list and if this is war of the servers I'm gonna be so excited. War of the Servers is an absolute classic, an absolutely amazing creation considering the time it was made and also my 2nd favorite adaptation of war of the worlds, only being beat out by the thing it is adapting, Jeff Wayne's Musical version of War of the Worlds. I actually had only discovered War of the Servers like nearly a decade after it came out since I am much younger and didn't really experience pre-gmod 13 I have spent an enormous amount of time playing GMod and have spent thousands of hours watching classic GM creators. I think I've watched all of Zuthar's video catalogue at this point in time and his pre-gmod 13 content are still fun to go back to even over a decade later and having watched em multiple times. I really hope I'm right and this series is about War of the Severs because if it is I expect it to be my new favorite of the Gmod ARGs.

@@gruntmadness886 I'd recommend watching War of the Server's. It is a cornerstone of Gmod culture and practically kicked started Gmod Machinima as a whole.
I always found the tripod recusion was interesting. The tripods in war or the worlds inspired the striders from hl2, a game that inspired the creation of gmod, and gmod inspired the creation of war of the servers, which had its own version of the tripods from war of the worlds
Wow, finally, an ARG that i actually WANT to partake in, this has some originality and im glad he really took the criticism well with his other series and produced a banger
Thinking about it, when Richter mentioned the continuity error of the Tool Gun, I thought back to the closing scene for War of the Servers where MC states that everyone updated to GMod 10 after the mingebags left. There were admins (or at least people dressed the same way) who (I think, I'll need to rewatch it) continued researching GMod 9 to continue to build up preventative measures against any possible returns, with an additional bit suggesting that there were still mingebags there and that they were just hiding. Maybe they managed to find a way over to later versions, considering the more modern Toolgun design. Either that or I'm reaching a bit too much, that's also a possibility!
i REALLY like this. I haven't seen many ARGs give the players choices on the story itself, nor have I seen them actually give players puzzles. It's amazing, really. This is my new favorite ARG.
This ARG really is interesting! I haven’t seen much of Garry’s Mod before the peak of its popularity back in the early 2010’s, so this has intrigued me to research about Garry’s Mod’s history and to also watch War of the Servers. One thing that stand out to me about this ARG is how it uses audio, especially when music is played in the background of these videos. Their odd distortions make the videos with musical audio, (such as the piano which can be heard in ‘16-??’),much more unsettling and eerie. I also love how energetic Richter sounds in this video. You can tell that he was so happy to make a ARG video which didn’t involve sentient ragdolls.
The fact that the audience/viewers were able to interact with him and even choose an entire storyline for him is actually amazing, this is so damn unique
What a blast from the past man, I remember watching war of the servers and loving it, it’s awesome and one of the biggest reasons I ever got gmod. I don’t play much anymore but I played an ungodly amount of it back in 2012-2014. Good times.
Bro, if more comes out go this, please make more videos on it! I am a HUGE fan of War of the Servers and War of the Worlds in general so it would mean a lot to me if you could acknowledge the two, since they both have sort of fallen into obscurity. Anyway, thanks in advance!
I love how the main character interacts with his comment section, makes them seem way more human then other protagonist in ARG's. Also makes me concerned for 6's well being.
I was not expecting such nostalgia watching this video, almost over 10 years ago I watched that “war of the servers” video. now I’m 19 seeing memories from the bottom of whatever pit memories go to, to be forgotten. (Edit: I think I’m gonna go rewatch it war of the servers again.
The "what does this weird machinima I've never heard of that is or almost as old is I am have to do with this ARG" Was surprisingly so close to what I was thinking
Slow down the last video and see that at the beginning, there are the words "LOST CONNECTION," then follows up with "PLAY" as well as play button. It later shows numbers that goes in the order 75 90(7?) 9(17?). It has many numbers that could lead to a secret message. What I theorize is happening is that the griefers have created lag machines that make others lose connection with the server. Maybe it is an alternate universe to "The War of the Servers" and not exactly related to it and which is why SurvivorOfAll can reach that area. But to find out, we probably need a code cracker to find this number stuff out.
Garry's Mod War of the Servers is one very well made film. Considering it is Gmod 9, it is impressive how they managed to make the film. Though we still haven't got a sequel yet, they said they will be doing it... though that's the last we ever heard from them talking about a sequel. Until then, maybe some day we will get it of course
If you really want more, then read The War of the Worlds (which is what War of the Servers is a parody of) or you can watch the 2005 movie and listen to the musical. Granted, it isn’t gmod but it’s close enough, right?
Dude if you're planning on covering some of the wider phenomena around Gmod ARGs and that sorta stuff you should look into something called Espionage Wars. It's a curious little product of the Gmod culture and definitely worth a look into.
You can tell I'm a War of The Worlds fanatic when during that "Admin, what's with the fog?" scene, I heard two bass guitar notes before you cut, and knew instantly that they played Horsell Common and The Heat Ray from Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of War of The Worlds. Nice to know they're not just parodying the shit 2005 film version. Also the tripods used look more like a crude kitbashing of the 1900s Alvim Correa designs. Neat!
I normally never look at GMod ARGs but seeing the War of the Servers Tripod in the thumbnail, I really had to see what was going on! P.S: Hey admin what's with the fog? P.P.S: Ah there it is 6:33
I really enjoyed this ARG and your breakdown of it. Man, so many memories associated with Gmod 9, and watching WOTS in the suites of Gmod Tower. The white void/particle stuff reminds me of when you close your eyes while looking at a bright light, or when you look into a bright sky and you can see strange artifacts caused by blood vessels and stuff.
I think this is a direct or spiritual sequel to W,O,T,S, we follow 6 in a desolate and empty world, with so little life left he can barely survive without anything hostile nearby, and when that hostile thing arrives, he is forced to leave but know of possible survivors in the city but, despite taking a safer but longer path, is captured by, possibly, Mingebags who are still around. I also think that the whole Toolgun being there, even though it wasn't created yet, could be explained by it being a prototype, which could also explain why it is seemingly ID locked, you probably wouldn't want a potentially dangerous and powerful prototype to be used against you.
Very excited to see where this one might go! Not the biggest indulger in GMod ARGs, but I have to say this one has caught me hook, line, and sinker. It's very nice to see some more attention shined on War of the Servers - Something I thought more people knew about! The creator of this one really has outdone himself and it's truely wonderful to see his growth from being one of the more forgettable ARG makers, to someone who I think will be remembered as a revitalizer of the genre, and/or story of the original 2007 movie.
Interestin! I binged this series a little while back because it popped up in my feed but I actually didn't know about the relation between this arg and war of the servers. I look forward to seeing if this goes somewhere

I love the fact that its more like a apocaliptic sad tale not a scary and alive world more like a world that has alredy died but does not accept it own fate Just like six
War Of The Servers was an interesting project to say the least. I became fairly close friends with the creator of it and we had discussed the revival of the project and a sequel, but it never happened, hopes for it died around 2016-2017. It's nice to see life getting breathed into the project, even when it's just because of an ARG. I do really like this though, and it'd be nice to see a group try to make a full on interactive ARG throughout GMOD that the community can take part in, by picking up notes that are left within servers and so on.
This is probably my favorite of all of them. It actually tells you a story from a single person point of view instead of "UUUHH CAREFUL WITH DARK ROOM IN GM CONSTRUCT UUUUHHH CAREFUL WITH BADMIN UUUHHH RAGDOLLS ARE ALIVE GASP" overused bs
This video game me goosebumps when you reminded me of war of the servers; I love that movie, and the fact that it's being brought back here is just amazing. I hope you and the guy continues the story and can bring back the war of the servers into the limelight.
After just watching War of the Servers, and going back to rewatch this, I think this ARG takes place in an alternate reality where the minges attacked during Summer Vacation, and essentially had a LOT more time to dominate, resulting in the presumed weeks or maybe months that this ARG occurs within
Sorry for sounding like a nerd here, (and I know this might've been a misunderstanding from the profile picture) but maybe next time when calling the main character Six, you could call him Two or Ted, since the his model in the ARG is Male_02, originally based off of Ted Backman.
Amazing analysis of this ARG. I haven't seen the "War of the Servers" movie, but after watching this, I think I'll definitely do a little watch party for it with some friends. Keep up the great content!
The Minges almost always hide in their Mingepods unless they are exploring, so it isn't really an option. And the Minges don't seem to be able to be affected by the physics gun because almost no one uses it against them.
This Gmod ARG is similar to the TheSunVanished ARG, as both interact with their audience and stuff, but TSV uses twitter instead of RUclips. I’m glad more of these things are being made, they’re really interesting!
I do not believe what I am going to tell you all matters, but I noticed the person in TheSurvivorOfAll's videos is wearing blue clothes, while the person in TheSurvivorOfAll's RUclips channel images is wearing green clothes.
I'll point out, during the corrupted camera flashes of The Long Route and Awakening have a split second where you can hear the sound of a pistol being picked up/equipped. Sure, could be glitch effects, but it sounds tone-for-tone just like it.
Honestly, I had this idea for a gmod arg awhile back that's quite similar to this one. However, instead of a War of The World's with gmod characters, it instead was based on the TF2 characters and TF2 custom game Slender Fortress. In my arg, it was basically a Hunger Games-esque series, where TF2 characters must complete a set of tasks while also surviving, hiding, and running away from numerous horrific creatures. There were also some elements of A Quiet Place and The Mist sprinkled in too.
im old enough to know from the thumbnail you posted about War of the Servers. what a great video. At first i thought he was just a survivor that was left behind. If i recall war of the servers ended with like Gmod9 being announce and everyone heading to greener pastures.
Gmod 9 was the main version in WOTS (As they referred to the game as "Garry's Mod 9.0" i'm pretty sure), and at the end they moved to Gmod 10 since it released.
dude let's go I love war of the servers, it's been one of my favourite videos on RUclips probably since I opened my account (and is also still on my watch later playlist in second position, and possibly the first ever RUclips video I ever downloaded)

i never played gmod my self but if you could explain what it is i would learn more about the gmod culture
I like how this one is just straight forward
i REALLY like this.
That's literally what an ARG is supposed to be.
@@ROBOHOLIC1 yeah
I love how this also shows that ARGs don't always have to be ominous and can be cinematic
This is probably my favorite arg, I love the post apocalyptic setting in gmod. Maybe you should make a new arg tier list!
The "what does this weird machinima I've never heard of that is or almost as old is I am have to do with this ARG" Was surprisingly so close to what I was thinking
Not only do I like how this is an actual ARG, but I also like that how the story ends depends on us, and I really like that idea.
"TheSurvivorOfAll" he could be the last SURVIVOR of War of the servers
I adore GMOD animations that directly acknowledge the physgun and toolgun. They're such interesting devices that beg to be used in some sort of story
Dude if you're planning on covering some of the wider phenomena around Gmod ARGs and that sorta stuff you should look into something called Espionage Wars. It's a curious little product of the Gmod culture and definitely worth a look into.
This is brilliant, the war of the servers is the perfect time and place to do an arg
Super unique idea for an ARG, and an excellent homage to gmod history. What a treat to see
You can tell I'm a War of The Worlds fanatic when during that "Admin, what's with the fog?" scene, I heard two bass guitar notes before you cut, and knew instantly that they played Horsell Common and The Heat Ray from Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of War of The Worlds. Nice to know they're not just parodying the shit 2005 film version. Also the tripods used look more like a crude kitbashing of the 1900s Alvim Correa designs. Neat!
Nice new arg, I love it!
I think it's so cool and absolutely amazing that we can interact and change the story ourselves! I wanna see how this turn out!
I normally never look at GMod ARGs but seeing the War of the Servers Tripod in the thumbnail, I really had to see what was going on!
P.S:
Hey admin what's with the fog?
P.P.S:
Ah there it is 6:33
You mentioning war of the servers really took me back man.
finally an ARG without the [adjective][noun][year] username
I really enjoyed this ARG and your breakdown of it. Man, so many memories associated with Gmod 9, and watching WOTS in the suites of Gmod Tower.
The white void/particle stuff reminds me of when you close your eyes while looking at a bright light, or when you look into a bright sky and you can see strange artifacts caused by blood vessels and stuff.
war of the worlds was also originally a science fiction novel, and also had a 1970s musical album where war of the servers gets it sick ass music from
0:53 *SIENCE WHEN WERE HALF LIFE CHARACTERS NOT EASILY RECONIZABLE?*
Wow so this ARG is essentially a war of the worlds roleplay series mixed in with Gmod logic
5:47 Me, using the sexyness gun, meteor swep, nuclear swep and spawning infinite combine:😎
He's back
Glad to see it based off of War of the Servers. Thats an incredibly underrated machinima.
dude the fucking cam04 jumpscare at 13:29 just scared the SHIT outta me man i have a fucking speaker system with one of those boxes that plays the bass track so I LITERALLY FELT THAT SHIT PULSING THROUGH ME
21:34 wild theory . the events of the ARG is after war of the servers ended . and the Mingebag have won .
I love your ARG vids. Like I didn't know what it was until like yesterday but it's so fun and interesting! It's nostalgic and unsettling.
Damn... War Of The Servers. Haven't heard that name for a hot minute.
every time I hear richter say "good evening" as quickly and sharply as he does it fills my souls with joy and happieness
I love the fact that its more like a apocaliptic sad tale not a scary and alive world more like a world that has alredy died but does not accept it own fate Just like six
This is my favorite gmod aesthetic c:
what i love about any args is that they dont just randomly give you jumpscares all the time
War Of The Servers was an interesting project to say the least.
It actually tells you a story from a single person point of view instead of "UUUHH CAREFUL WITH DARK ROOM IN GM CONSTRUCT UUUUHHH CAREFUL WITH BADMIN UUUHHH RAGDOLLS ARE ALIVE GASP" overused bs
that thumbnail with the big machines from war of the servers gave me chills but made me so exited to watch this
This arg brings back memories
This video game me goosebumps when you reminded me of war of the servers; I love that movie, and the fact that it's being brought back here is just amazing. I hope you and the guy continues the story and can bring back the war of the servers into the limelight.
After just watching War of the Servers, and going back to rewatch this, I think this ARG takes place in an alternate reality where the minges attacked during Summer Vacation, and essentially had a LOT more time to dominate, resulting in the presumed weeks or maybe months that this ARG occurs within
First Gmod arg I have seen and it’s super good! I’ll definitely be looking into more of these
Sorry for sounding like a nerd here, (and I know this might've been a misunderstanding from the profile picture) but maybe next time when calling the main character Six,
you could call him Two or Ted, since the his model in the ARG is Male_02, originally based off of Ted Backman.
tbh i never been into Gmod ARG even in your channel but this one is actually interesting and i like it .
6 has posted again btw
Amazing analysis of this ARG. I haven't seen the "War of the Servers" movie, but after watching this, I think I'll definitely do a little watch party for it with some friends. Keep up the great content!
I don't know much about the "War of the servers" but wouldn't the griefers be killable? I'm sure Six could set up traps and kill with his phys gun.
Hol up'
wow, didn’t expect to see this in my recommended but im glad it showed up
There’s another reason why acf is created. To perform natural selection in servers
I'll point out, during the corrupted camera flashes of The Long Route and Awakening have a split second where you can hear the sound of a pistol being picked up/equipped. Sure, could be glitch effects, but it sounds tone-for-tone just like it.
Nice video (didnt even finish it 💀)
@@dogtaro444 it was released early for channel members
Oh wait there's not even a membership then idk
@@Ferenc. It was unlisted and i found myself looking at ARG's,i was there by the time the video was released
@@LavetnoSiberiade Oh lol
Love ARG’s that interact with their audience
Honestly, I had this idea for a gmod arg awhile back that's quite similar to this one.
However, instead of a War of The World's with gmod characters, it instead was based on the TF2 characters and TF2 custom game Slender Fortress.
In my arg, it was basically a Hunger Games-esque series, where TF2 characters must complete a set of tasks while also surviving, hiding, and running away from numerous horrific creatures.
There were also some elements of A Quiet Place and The Mist sprinkled in too.
So basicaly, nothing like the one in the video.
@@tubaraofeio1053 douchebag
Would be great to see it
Worlds*
im old enough to know from the thumbnail you posted about War of the Servers. what a great video.
@@isoknight0728 thought 10 was later on but you might be right
Finally, an gmod arg that isn't spook ragdoll or shadow man :)
dude let's go I love war of the servers, it's been one of my favourite videos on RUclips probably since I opened my account (and is also still on my watch later playlist in second position, and possibly the first ever RUclips video I ever downloaded)
I think plastic apple did done do take a turn in his ARG that differentiates from your common GMod ARG
You did a good job on this video bro.
