Given Alex contested the assassin and Josephine had the assassin, that one move should have killed Alex. The assassination would still go through, and Alex had to give up one of his cards for being wrong. That's both cards gone. Contesting assassin is extremely risky unless you know that they don't have it. It's a much safer play to claim you have the Contessa and hope they don't contest it. If it didn't kill both cards to contest assassin and be proven wrong, everybody would contest assassin all the time.
True. They did remember that rule in the previous game. Speaking of previous game I think they still played the Exchange rule wrong. When you take the extra card you can take all 3 cards into your hand then return 1 card from those to the deck. Not that it matters so much as with Ambassador it would.
@@leonardobeasley6319 actually closer to 27:40. 28:00 almost entirely misses the misplay. At the first time mentioned in this post, Alex is about to contest the assassin, and then he only gives up 1 card when he's proven wrong around the second time mentioned in this post, ignoring that the assassination still goes through.
claiming contessa and being contested loses someone both their cards though, because they didnt actually have a contessa, the assassination still goes through and because they lied about having a contessa they also lose another. it doesnt matter too much whichever you do, both are risky.
@@WickedBlondie yes, both are dangerous, but claiming contessa is slightly safer, because it requires your opponent to choose to gamble about whether you have a contessa for the assassination to go through.
I love it when Becca wins on this show. I feel like she has to kind of put her own competitiveness aside to a degree, to make sure her guests have fun and, in some cases, aren't penalized for not being as familiar with the rules, so it's nice when she gets to win anyway. #teambecca
So, I've avoided a lot of game the game (sorry g&s, loved tabletop, tried 2 videos from this series and just didn't vibe). I love coup, just watched polygon's video for the 4th time, and this popped up in suggested. I only saw b dave walters and coup, and immediately said "alright, I'll check this one out." The very moment the camera turned to Alex and Josephine, my mouth went wide open, and immediately realized it was an LA by Night special. I love all of your work on that show ( your meaning everyone in this video), you all do tremendous work there. Shocked and now pumped for the video.
Objection! at 27:40 Alex should have been knocked out of the game since he would have lost a influence for contesting the assassin and then lost another when assassinated. Otherwise, you would always contest since there would be no downsides if your going to lose an influence anyway.
My headcanon lore is that once the first instance where 1 faction dies out, in this case Becca, that faction becomes EXTINCT and the mechanic goes away for the rest of the game. Otherwise you have to wrap your head around the lore that an EXTINCT faction can come back from the dead. Ok, even if it is by excommunication, there's no logic in everyone going after an excommunicated clan. That's why you get excommunicated. Nobody wants to have anything to do with you. They don't even want to come after you anymore. That's my headcanon and I stand by it. Roast me, laugh at me, I don't mind.
@8:35 you paid three coins to assassinate the other player as the duke.... but the Duke can't assassinate. I'm confused as to why no one called her on that
How do they expect them to remember so much detail.. this is a terrible idea... Ya gotta play without the cameras first... At least once .. lol Why would they do that
Becca just said Ash is fluent. It's funny that she's the only one that didn't actually speak German after that was pointed out ... But there is nothing in the video that contests that she is. :)

22:36, when Josephine McAddam goes "He's on your team, bro.". Such a delightful event to witness. XD
Can't help but to grin when B.Dave said "Cause I'm the Baron"
Man, it is weird seeing Alex out of his Jasper mode.
Josephine is like a cute cat that became a person
I don't even like cats that much but I love Josephine and I totally agree with your comment.
Y’all do know that cats are killers, right?
(Which fits, by the way…)
I always considered Victor, Fiona, Jasper and Eva are playing the game due to X's suggestion.
Josephine said "I am the captain of inquisitions" hits differently after the LA By Night finale
That's painful😳😂
i just love alex ward
So do I, sibling😂❤❤😍💋🤩🌹🥰

The Duke of West Space is 1000% going into my first DnD campaign.
the undisputed duke of the west?

You should have them on more often
Agreed! Great group!
Really dynamic group and energy. Loved it.
That moment when you have binged LA by night and just heard Ava say: he‘s on your team bro. 😂😂😂😂
I enjoyed the random German language moment in the middle. Sehr gut!
As a German: I can confirm. Gut gemacht.
B. Dave and Josephine are my favorite guests on GtG

Yeah, I saw that too. It's easy to miss though. Probably happens to every group that plays this at least once. :)
Yes its so hard to find a playthrough of coup that actually follows the rules
G&S, y’all, I will pay you for a video of just bloopers, let’s go let’s do this
I would love them to play this as the full L.A. by night cast in character, that would be hillarious.
I agree!!
Chloe, Fiona, The Undisputed Baron of the Valley, Jasper, and Eva...
Alex's nos face is still showing in this lol!
Josephine ❤️
27:56 Alex should have lost a card from the challenge and the assassination there
I like the reformist/loyalist thing cuz it makes it less of a 'game the system' to win, and about co-op with those you feel you can trust.
"Oh nyauuuu!" Can Game the Game be just the cast of L.A. by Night playing games?
The music playing in the background is perfect!
Coup with the Reformation expac is the ultimate bluffing game
Lol i love you guys this is so freaking amazing!! Undisputed Duke of the West!! Go B. Dave!!
Loved the casual ‘Six’ reference to start! Great musical 👍
"Do you challenge MEEEEEE?!!"
Loved the game and both videos, But! Where is the new Villainous expansion video? Please please Becca. 🙏🙏
I love to see the new expansion and maybe even throw in Ursula from the base game since that one wasn't played in the first video.
Yes completely agree, bring Ursala in too!!
Alex is wearing A COLOUR?! I thought he was strictly a monochrome boi
@Angelous Mortis Fair reasoning, I'll allow it 😆
OMG that intro 🤣🤣🤣
I loved it, these were really fun.
Great episode. Fun players, great game. Becca = the best.
Im sorry, but it must be said that Becca is so damn gorgeous!
And funny as hell.
When Becca wins we all win! Also... I'm mad none of them realized Becca won as Captain Ass
Evasper is cool :)
Spoiler!

I'm happy for Becca that she finally got to win ! ^^
Scrolls down comments to correct a mistake sees this comment while now I know who's going to win
@@smartmovestephen5390 well sorry but maybe read the comments after watching a video ?

27:37 Alex should be out of the game, since he loses 1 influence for wrongly contesting the assassination + 1 from the assassination.
Wow! What an expansion!🤯
Love these wonderful people. :)
Ha, Jasper is Alex Ward's evil brother
@8:35 you paid three coins to assassinate the other player as the duke.... but the Duke can't assassinate. I'm confused as to why no one called her on that
Well that was really fun 😅
25:43 German! ;-)
THATS NOT ALEX! HE HAS HAIR!!
Becca scott is an absolute peach
You guys are too honest
/Watches intro/ Long day, Becca? X'D
I like this show, but I miss tabletop :(
Native German speaker here: What Josephine said sounded more like: I forgot my cat :)
Card = Karte, Cat = Katze
Also, Alex didn't say anything like soeben or kürzlich, but they added "just" to the translation.
Clearly Kindred are better at subterfuge than Ghouls are.
Should i put the old coup with the new one ?
Team rocket 🔥😂
Hi this is the frist time I've seen Josephine McAdam so like....hi
16:28 should have switched her own team
I kinda want to see Becca on the VtM show lol
She is on it as a minor character
@@CrisSelene O. When. I've just recently started fully watching it and am starting chp. 7 in the first season.
She is in jaspers season 1 epilogue. And appears in post shows and another epilogue in season 2.
@@flamingkitten1 thanks ^^
I Miss tabletop :(
What is this piano music? It is so peaceful
Barron Duke of the Valley
So... where is the Ash-Becca fanfic?
Right next to the Chloe-Fiona fanfic.
Duke of the mole people
B Dave’s duke sounds like Forrest Gump
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS
I love this game! But I must know where Miss Josephine got that beautiful blouse! I wants it lol
Finally B. won
Wil Wheaton
Captain Jim, I am so Gay
The moment you pulled out the captain hat is when I checked out. I don't like useless banter.

I thought ash last won the game
That was the first half of the initial Coup episode. Ash won the first game, then Josephine.
