    Stutzman is amazing. The Fin is just shooting while seated. Stutzman is shooting with his freaking feet!!!

  • @TheGabbia
    @TheGabbia 5 лет назад +22

    Stutzman is clearly really good but for me this competition is unfair. Forsber is like a normal archer just sat on a chair, his disability does not interfers with the sport while the Stutzman disability is like "how the hell he can do that?!?".

    I have to agree with previous comments. This is definitely not a balanced competition.

    Does the word inspirational even give this video justice?? Mad respect to both of these archers,,however with that said, Matt Stutzman makes me feel DAMN proud to be an American!

    if you think this is unfair...then you are being unfair to Matt for thinking he can't compete against opponents with arms, you overlooked his talent because of his disability...he's good, he did his best(i'm rooting for him tho)

    • @luminous6969
      @luminous6969 3 года назад +4

      If you do think this is a fair competition, you overlooked one person having arms and the other one not having arms. They don't have an equal disability to overcome. Not having the use of your legs doesn't affect your ability to shoot an arrow with your ARMS at all.

    • @WitchSara246840
      @WitchSara246840 2 года назад

      @@luminous6969 but then you're overlooking Forsberg's disability. Both should be praised for even competing at all. Forsberg is sitting at a 90 degree angle which is harder than standing to begin with. Look at the difference of swimmers in Paralympics. Jessica Long has amputated legs from the knee. She competes against some people who have all their limbs and still wins. Would you say it's unfair if Matt won? People would just compliment him for being an amazing archer. Disabilities don't define your skill. Props to both of them for an amazing match.

    • @luminous6969
      @luminous6969 2 года назад +1

      @@WitchSara246840 Yeah disabilities don't define your skill, but not all disabilities hinder you equally. What if he was deaf? A deaf person vs a guy with one arm would be a ridiculous mismatch and no one would be surprised if the deaf person won. But what if it was a blind person vs a guy with one arm? Now it would be absolutely amazing if the blind guy one. There are countless examples of different disabilities differently affecting your ability to physically perform a task. What if it was a guy with no legs vs a guy with no arms? Would you be amazed if the guy with arms won?

    • @WitchSara246840
      @WitchSara246840 2 года назад

      @@luminous6969 yes. i understand what your saying, but the Paralympics are as fair as they can get. it'd take too long to have competitions for ones without arms, ones with no legs, and so on. I'd be happy for either person winning. Because they are stepping out of their disability, doing things that 'normal' humans can do. Stutzman had to win against others with arms before this final match so it's obviously fair if he got this far. I understand what you mean, and I'm not saying that your wrong, it's just hard to get so specific with qualifications. Disabilities are disabilities.

I watched this video because I was curious and now I'm hooked and going to try and find more.... honestly, this competition and these athletes deserve much more main stream exposure. cool stuff ! .... a new fan
