I love how dramatically different the techniques are between these 2 archers. Marcus has a consistent and methodical form, while Robby comes off as more instinctual and even reckless by comparison. that during the match Marcus was able to get two 10's in a row in set 4, and even though Robby got a complete MISS in set 2, he managed to get a 10 when it mattered most in the single arrow shootout! Robby's 10's: 01:08 08:41 14:22 Marcus' 10's: 3:33 09:18 09:42
@@Barak50cal Thanks for the reply. Ive only dabbled with archery over the years, trying to get serious now. Got a right handed 55 lb bear Montana for a sort of wedding present, already had a left handed sammick sage 45, with Southwest archery spider xl limbs 55#. An old Pearson pony 35#. Just picked up a southwest archery ghost right handed riser, and their long bow limbs at 29 lbs for the wife, she favors left so the sammick riser is hers now. I completed in strongman for 15 years, even with that the 55s aren't steady at draw, but I have nothing but fun shooting the 29 and 35 all day. 45 right now i shoot the best.
@@tedluna624 I could see that. The wife's 29 lb limbs would be around 35 foot me at my draw, I can shoot that all day and it's just fun. When I shoot my 45 limbs, about 50-51 lbs at full draw I can get thru a full series of 30 arrows, but the groups start opening up around the 9th or 10th set. I'm currently shooting in the basement for technique, maybe 8m. Going to an indoor range when I can but the nearest is 2 hours away. Id like to try a shoot the winter or spring
@@Barak50cal A lot of barebow archers shoot low poundage indoors, using really heavy points and kind of "lob" the arrows, rather like a darts player. I shoot barebow with 44lbs outdoors and 30lbs indoors. The heavy points mean you don't have to aim way below the target at the short distance. Sighted recurve shooters just have to adjust their sight. So easy it's boring ;) Waits for the recurvers to shout. Barebow is way more complicated to aim.
I’d guess sponsor money is higher in those other classes. Like was said the prize money was donated completely by Lancaster Archery for this class. If more sponsors stepped up, and more shooters took place making the class bigger you’d see more prize money available.
Maybe because barebow archers consume the least money compared to other archery classes due to their minimum equipment requirements. So barebow is not very promising for sales of the products of the sponsor. And so barebow can not attract sponsorship like other classes of archeries.
How much longer until we have a barebow event where the announcers don't explain the entire world of barebow as if it were invented last week? Imagine every time you watched a football game they explained all the basics and told you how it was different from soccer and rugby?
Oh commentators still do that even in Recurve and Compound events lol. This the world we live in. Nobody knows shit about archery except the archers and coaches. So they kinda have to do that to attract more laypeople.
Having fun at the range is one thing. But if we want to get taken serious, we have to act as serious archers in a serious and hard competition. Just saying….
It just seems like there is something therapeutic and calming about this hobby.....

I shoot Trad, but really enjoy watching Barebow! 🏹!
This is cool, but if and when they ever implement a swing draw competition than THAT will be impressive 👍
BAREBOW!
Match with Jesse and Jake shooting BB (or maybe Jesse getting BB lessons)
3:11...LOL....they be missing the Accessories (aka Archers Handicap parts) LOL
Omg two Best archer

As a spectator, we want war on the battlefield
What poundage do these guys usually shoot? is there a min and max?
No min/max, but most will shoot over 24lbs to reduce the amount of arc you have to have. Most of the guys shoot around 40ish pounds.

Oh! Matt Yacca was there!

Why does the higher skill bare bow evet get less money than the gadget bow(is my buble wright?) event?
I’d guess sponsor money is higher in those other classes. Like was said the prize money was donated completely by Lancaster Archery for this class. If more sponsors stepped up, and more shooters took place making the class bigger you’d see more prize money available.
Because the gadgets cost money to buy. Companies that make gadgets sponsor archery events, so their names are out there, and people buy their gadgets.
You can send them money to compensate.

Turn volume down and put on an album 😊

They will, when archery is as popular as those sports.
@@ItsJakeTheBrake even in football, they still need to explain the offside rule every now and then🤣
What size of a target are they shooting at, at that distance?
I think the target is a 40cm triple that goes only from 10 to 6. About the distance, I suppose 18 meters but I am not sure.
😲 brave camera man
Hot DAMN! My buddy Marcus is a badass with a bow. And not one of those sissy compound jobs either! The Nuge would be proud! I k now I am.
What is the distence ?
18m at 40cm (5 ring) spots, meaning the 5 ring is 20cm
🖒😁🖒like
What meter please
18m

And the woman match?
Men & Women combined
I don't think they used a plunger centuries ago.
Close down all archery clubs in the United Kingdom
All bows need to be banned. No one needs one of these death machines.
All needles have to be banned. No need of those death items
String walking isn’t real archery
found the salty longbow shooter...
Sure. Real archers shoot with a hazelnut stick at 200m and closed eyes. Word.
