Same here. Everything is way to high in cost, they need to start making more products that the average salary man can afford and not have to use all of or even half of his paycheck to do so, especially with something you don't really need like a Bluetooth speaker, it's crazy!

If you can't afford it, buy a Honda, but don't complain at Lamborghini for selling their products at a higher price, because their products are higher quality. Funny thing is whenever he does budget videos, people always crying about the products being cheap or from china.. now when he does something high end, people crying about the price
@@JohnDoeTheBagMan Nah, they feel a little overpriced. Quality is a decent argument but they also mark up just for profit. Even a Lamborghini is marked up not because of the quality but to inflate profit. You’re paying for the name, the status and appearance of luxury. This is roughy a 500-700$ speaker just based on build quality. It is a little overpriced.

Your review helped solidify my decision to pick one of these up. Everything you said about it was spot on. I myself have always been a bass head. Now that I am older and my home is full of people it has been challenging to enjoy EDM music since my bass capable system is in the main living room. This speaker can sit on my table in my small man cave while and have that fat, clear sound I can only get out of my big upstairs set up. It's fun/mesmerizing to watch those little woofers produce sub frequencies! I will also say i have a sony xb43, bose soundlink mini, and JBL Boombox 3. Non of my other speakers play bass in the lower frequencies as the Mania. The Boombox is close but has to be turned up much louder to hear it and starts annoying others in the house "Especially at night". This speaker has allowed me to enjoy music genres that I would rarely be able to listen to and actually enjoy it. I was looking for quality over quantity. I hear everything in my music now anywhere I want. Dips or drop offs from speaker limitations are a gone. This speaker is exactly what i needs for my busy/cramped lifestyle and was worth the price. Thanks Floss…as the bonafide speakerologist I’ve just purchased this speaker after your review…best smallest speaker you've ever heard...well, you can’t get a better recommendation than that...what swung it even more was the comparison with that Diamondbox thingy…as the saying goes, I’ll go for the good looking one, you can have the friend 🤣🤣🤣

I'm always watch the videos through my phone speakers and this was the best sounding speaker I've heard yet I could tell how clear it is and how deep the bass was hitting just through my phone

The Diamond Boxxes are a shade more veiled in their presentation fidelity compared to the more open and clear sounding Divialets. My 950s are able to capture the sound fidelity differences, but both are impressive!

Hi, I am using 2x Devialet Reactor II (in stereo) and it incredible! Devialet bass is adictive.
Devialet, the masters of great quality sound out of small cabinets. Great test as always my man.
How about Vifa?
You can definitely tell the difference between the Devialet and DiamondBoxx and I'm not one to label myself an audiophile and the difference is apparent to me. Hard to say it's worth the cost, Devialet is a very well known maker of high quality audio equipment so the cost isn't a surprise. Quality costs and you gotta be okay with that or else this isn't for you.

Can't help myself when it comes to audio reproduction. Kids are grown up, health no longer suited to motorbikes, nearly retired, a whole world of digital audio out there, can't carry my high-end system with me to work, so very best in portability a must to fill the need. You have just cost me the equivalent of US$1,001 at today's exchange rate! 😸
Excellent review, mate (praise from Australia) - way better than any other I've seen. I think you were about the 300th I've sat through, but so compelling I've seen it 4 or 5 times and just shelled out the Aus$1495 (discounted from $1700) for the gold opera edition.
Adding White Shoes to the presentation certainly caught my attention & won me over as a cat-lover myself.

As a proud Devialet Mania owner, I can say with absolute certainty that this speaker has replaced my thrifted Bose SoundDock portable for its quality. The Bose is great for iPods, but this is great for my phone, and, most importantly, playing in precice concert with my Syng Cell Alphas, HomePods, and HomePod minis, all throughout my house without any lag in sound or degradation. Truly metamorphic sound from this little beauty, and I have plans to buy the cocoon and Mania Station for maximum portability and ease of use.
Do note, the price increased from $790 to $900, so those who bought early such as myself got a good deal, in my opinion.

As you know the more you turn it up it lowers the bass volume but it is the best Bluetooth speaker you can get this small, NICE VIDEO

I had to hook up my Cambridge audio 2.1 pc speakers to feel the effect of this speaker, and it worked the bottom end is definitely there. I could literally feel the quality when you first thumped the table with it.
Thats speaker sound incredible but only thing is that the price is a lil high. They should set the price at $650, paying $800 they should've make it fully waterproof and a wireless charger in the box. It dont have to be super loud like the other bigger speakers due to the size.

I have the EXOS-9 and BOSE S1 Pro and have traveled with each on vacation. Both can be an issue while toting as carry on due to weight and shape. I have had the Devialet Mania for 2 days and cant wait to bring this on my next flight. The sound and bass is crazy smooth with no distortion at max volume. I know the price is stupid high, but for me the portability, size and sound makes it worth it for me.
I have both the EXOS- 9 and the S1Pro. How's the sound quality/volume compared to the Devialet?

That Devialet and the Diamond Box are both awesome sounding speakers. If I had $800 to spend on a Bluetooth speaker, I would probably pick the Diamond Box. It sounds a little bit louder and has more bass.
So the diamondboxx is true stereo, while this one is mono? Is that correct?

@@bradhuskers It's stereo, with each side having a woofer and 2 full range speakers. They arranged those 4 full range speakers in a way where you get stereo sound from almost all around the unit
@Brad rawsner the mania is very muddy in person to much bass causing distortion and resonance due to build quality the mania would need better bracing and to be thicker to deal with this the diamond box for the price will be a much more rich better sounding clearer speaker

f you intend to use the Devialet Mania for streaming videos on a Windows device, be mindful that the sound will come out of speaker out of sync with the image in the video. Devialet is aware of this sound latency issue but does not intend on correcting it. The latency issue will not occur with IOS devices, only Windows and some cell phones. Also, there's no aux input so it can't be connected directly to the source device. I returned the one I bought.
Bluetooth audio on windows has allways been janky so im not surprised. Cant even use the integrated mic on a headset cuz then audio cuts out and then you gotta restart whatever app you were using.
Sounds like they shouldn't have omitted aptX.
