      @@kelk4624 I mean it costs a lot, so asking questions about it is complety fine and important :). In my opinion I cant see any scenario where you can get up to 10 hours. I will test the 60% one tomorrow, because my guess with 2-3 hours is just a guess :D, these 2-3 hours are the minium I would say, it should play a little bit longer. The battery itself it more than enough for a bluetooth speaker but its still a Devialet product with remarkable sound which consumes more power. I also have the Gemini first generation which I use mostly for going by train, but the battery life with these is a "problem", about 2 hours, then I need to recharge.

    But I have an important question:
    I got mine yesterday, i love the sound basically, but if i listen to some tracks with an hard bass like some house or techno tracks and adjust bass/treble to plus 3 or higher and i go at 75% volume, than it sounds like the mania couldn’t handle that bass, it sounds like overdrive, like the membranes hit something or the air couldn’t get out from the inside… but that’s only with bass heavy songs, in other normal songs i could set it to +3 or so and go to 100% volume without this problem, so inreally don’t know if it’s normal because it’s simply to much bass for this thing if i put the eq to plus or if my mania is broken… 🤔
    And it’s only on one side, not on the other which is strange too, but that could eventually be because it’s not exactly the same on the inside on both sides ?
    The thing is, i think if the speaker would be broken, then it wouldn’t play without distortion if i put the eq on neutral and 100% volume because that’s allready bass heavy, or am i wrong ?
    But at the same time i am a little bit disappointed because on a premium brand with the i think most expensive speaker in this class that shouldn’t be possible to acchieve an distortion in my opinion, even if i adjust the bass to +6!

    Hi guys, I was reading the comments and all I can personally say is I’ve heard they say all sound is subjective. So what someone might think sounds good someone else might think it doesn’t. Such as the video comparisons of the JBL Flip 6 and the Bose SoundLink Flex. I am sure the Devialet sounds better but I am not an audio expert. But I think it’s all about personal opinion as far as what your ear perceives to be better and it could also be what you are using to watch this video that can affect they way the sound of the speaker would sound to you. Such as a speaker, headphones or a phone. And what kind of brand of each.

    @explodingheavens Год назад +2

    Well, its 4 speakers + 2 sided mono sub speaker, there should be some stereo to it at least in higher frequencies.
    I take 360 stereo as that you can get stereo from every side, in this case, no matter how you place the speaker, it will look you in the eyes(well, not sure if it got eye tracking tech XD).
    Reactor was quite portable but it having batteries is expanding reach a lot, which changes the game completely.
    Tho devialet speakers were powerful for its size, there was at least some competition for home use, considering you won't mind bigger size of other speakers and need for devialet like DAC.
    There is basically no competition in portable category for its size/performance, not to mention bass for its size, it surely uses some home grown dac to upscale music for its wavy bass tech. You get similar experience with sony's DSEE technology, or possibly anything playing DSD.
    If you could pair 2 it would be awesome, but 800euro is enough for portable speaker for most. Its also close to reactor's 999/1200euro price, so you just choose between your portable needs.
    Considering you got 1K of money its either (cordless)portability+(some)stereo+smart_things or small_size+more_power+mono+jack. Unless you option for phantom gold speaker which can be heard from another hill, if you don't want to pull cord everywhere you want, its very useful. Just imagine where you cannot get the reactor to play, or how hard it can be and you save 200euro too...

    • @ApfelSgt
      @ApfelSgt 10 месяцев назад

      @@explodingheavens thank you for your response! 🙏🏽 Yes, it’s a small speaker and it has it’s limits which i know now! The good thing is, that my speaker isn’t broken!
      I stay with it because i am in love with the overall sound quality and fullness of the speaker, it’s really impressive overall!
      The bass overall is really good and controlled and I normally wouldn’t listen to songs like that with the equalizer set to +3 or higher and the highest volume, i only have done that to test the mania with different settings, different songs and different volumes which i do with every one of my speakers at first! So i know what the speakers could achieve, how it sounds the best and what’s the limit of the speaker.
      My only and in my opinion BIGGEST problem with the Mania is, that if you for example listen at home with low volume and the Bass/Trebble set to plus 4 or higher and then go outside with it and forgot to set it back to „Flat“, you simply can’t change it and then you couldn’t listen loudly because then you have the distortion!… or if it’s to much bass you can’t turn it down… I really don’t understand, why they made the decision that you need Wlan to change your Equalizer ?! That doesn’t make any sense in my opinion and is really incomprehensible!
      So i must be sure, that i set it back to Flat everytime before i leave my house and go outside…
      Whatever, i stay with my Mania because it really sounds and looks amazing for its size! ❤️
      I don’t know what that is with the mania, but when i first listened to it, i was a bit unimpressed, but everytime i turned it on and listened to it again i fell in love more and more and it really impresses me everytime again and i couldn’t believe that that fullness and this big soundstage come from such a small thing and that in 360° wherever you are! 😁 it really sounds like a hi-fi system! 😍
      And yes, i am with you, the mania is really something special, but i recommend you to try the „minirig 3“ they are very small, 360° sound and you could buy 2 of them and a subwoofer, then you will have a real portable 2.1 Stereo System, they really do sound amazing and they can be extremely loud if needed! You could even buy another subwoofer of them and then you have a 2.2 portable hifi system!
      That would be for sure a speaker system for you i think! 🙈
      And the Minirigs even in 2.1 will destroy the mania in allmost every aspect, they have better battery life, more bass, more loudness, real wireless stereo and an real audiophile sound with a near perfect frequency response if they are without the sub! A big Plus is, that you have a lot of options then, you will have the best mini portable speaker out there, you could take 2 with you so you have the best mini speakers in stereo, or one speaker and one subwoofer, or the 2.1 or the 2.2 system! And because it’s modular you could buy more speaker or subs to make for example an 4.2 system!
      And in total volume that you need to carry around the 2.1 system wouldn’t be more than the Mania i think.
      And even the 2.2 system would be cheaper than a single Mania so it’s really worth checking them out! 😬👍🏼
      However, there are some downsides with the minirigs too! First of all, they don’t are smart speakers, so no airplay, spotify connect, alexa etc.! Secondly even if they will destroy the Mania with the bass, they don’t play the low frequencies that the mania could play! 48hz on the minirigs vs 30hz on the mania! And even if they look really cool and „oldschool“ in their way, the Mania looks noble and stunning and fits perfectly in every furnishings which the minirigs don’t do that perfectly!
      And even if the modularity is a Plus, it’s also a negative point because if you want to match the soundquality and bass of the mania, you need at least 1 speaker and 1 sub to carry with you and if you want stereo like the mania has (in some way) you need to carry 3 speakers with you and even if the total volume isn’t more than a single mania, it’s really annoying in my opinion!
      And the App of the Minirigs is really trash! Sometimes you need to close and reopen it often to make the 2.1 system work… but you could change your equalizer on the go with this app, which some brand doesn’t allow you to do… 🙄
      But i really recommend you to try the Minirigs 3! Because every product of the company is an absolute banger in battery life, soundquality and build quality! 👌🏼
      Another good speaker in the scale of the mania will be the vifa oslo! That destroys the mania in terms of soundquality and loudness. However, it’s not an smart speaker either, don’t get that deep bass, don’t have 360° audio and it sounds a bit „thin“ in the lower volumes because it doesn’t adjust the bass dynamically with volume, so if you make louder, you get more bass and really good bass, but if you listen with low volume, you don’t get much bass. But it’s worth to check this speaker out too! 👍🏼
      But if we look at all together, so overall in terms of portability, design, build quality, soundquality, functionality, soundstage, deep bass and technology, the Mania is the best portable speaker that i ever had and there is like you said still not such speaker for us! ❤️
      But the mania is also really overpriced when we compare it to the minirigs which also aren’t really cheap! 😅
      And in my opinion for this price it should be possible to make equalizer adjustments when you aren’t at home and it shouldn’t be possible to make the speaker distord even at bass +6 and highest volume! I mean, there are microphones that listen allways and there are quad core processors in the mania, so it should lower the bass automatically if it can’t handle it to protect the speakers and for better sound quality!
      So i am in Love with Devialet and impressed by the Mania, but also a little bit disappointed, because if i want to be a Premium Brand with literally the most expensive speaker in this category, then it must be PERFECT… The Mania gets a 4 of 5 from me because of the app and because you can cause the speakers to distort which shouldn’t be possible…
      Thanks again for your fast response! ❤️🙏🏽

      @philosophictv1770 great, As for deep powerful bass I got docking d fine 50w speaker, so as classic mid size portable it's pretty good, but... Tho it is loud in mid bass, low bass is not possible to hear... Instead I got 26w vibration speaker size that it can hide in pants, But, it got deeper bass at low volume.
      Point is the bass is heard ONLY if you place it on big surface, but it gains the space that other portable speakers can only dream of. That's why it's so great for bass, tho limited in where to use it...
      Also similar to devialet, dac matters, playing on wire from Sony with dseehx on, you can experience similar bass wavy form. Dac matters.

      But the mania sounds absolutely incredible for the size.....but the battery doesn't last 10 hours .....😢 3-4 at the most on 60-70 %.....so you'll need to have the charger close by.....

    • @CaityNyah
      @CaityNyah Год назад

      @@lukabosnjak3829 I have a studio 5, which I still have kept as it wasn’t bad sounding at all.
      I would say there’s more bass in the studio 5/6 due to the rubber bottom having better contact against the surface it stands on, but I would say the treble is way better on the 7 because it actually has stereo sound, something I wish they would have done on the 5/6 as they only got one… which was quite disappointing but at the same time of having such audio from its compact size, I didn’t complain.
      Also I never use just a flat EQ, never ever.
      So that also impacts it. I always tune it specific for each speaker/headphones I use, so it sounds as good as possible and that also makes a difference of why I’m saying it sounds so good.
      Out of the box I never really like with any audio product ever. Maybe expensive products like this from Devialet, or HiFi studio quality from Audeze for headphones.
      We all have different opinions but I would say the 7 and 5/6 do sound different.
      And with some songs I can agree with you. Depends on what type of music it is where I can hear a difference.
      I mostly like the stereo speakers on the 7 which was the reason of purchasing it!
      But the 6 is really great because it’s water resistant! Which makes it a better all around choice than the 7 as it can take splashes without issues. Meanwhile the 7 wouldn’t really like it..

    • @lukabosnjak3829
      @lukabosnjak3829 Год назад

      @King Linuz Bass is almost the same, studio 7 sounds completely off with treable, lack of resolution and some wierd peeks makes it completely useless when you can get the 6 which actually sounds correct and quite smooth for some reason.
      Also I don't see different opinions 😕, only correct sound representation with flat frequency response (maby 2db bass or treable boost if one wants) but having peeks like studio 7 has cannot sound good to anyone even tho its stereo (also not much seperation)...
      There's no point in using eq if speaker you bought already sounds good like it should, Vifa is a good example. 👍

      In a different class. Its bass is far more musical than even two Sonos Moves in a stereo config, and while the Move has peaks around the 15, 16 KHz range, the Mania's tweeters are far more precisely tuned and have a far better sparkle. Sonos isn't bad, it's just nowhere near the Mania in terms of sound quality compared to the Mania.

    The truth about speaker volume indicators is that they are deceiving, and 60 on the volume is not represented in percentage. In fact, all audio systems have their volume on a logarithmic scale. We all hear logarithmically. Even the world we know has evolved from the void of time logarithmically. Another remarkable aspect of the Devialet Mania speaker system is that the unit is spherical, the primary and most crucial 3D object known in the universe. That way, the audio waves depart from the speaker system circularly and naturally. Devialet Mania sounds so gigantic🤯. Oh, wait. It is also because of its specs: 400W RMS. 🤣

      As for the Oslo, it's probably the best sounding portable speakers ever made with push-push woofers like devialet and simply amazing acoustic design for that size, it doesn't just sound better than any jbl speaker but is also twice as loud as the Xtreme 3 which is same in size with no funky bass reduction or compression (also Vifa is older than Jbl or B&o, shame on you for not knowing them): ruclips.net/video/hNp5SvEtJOU/видео.html (comparison with 1st boombox for reference @6.40)
      So stop talking sh!t about things you don't know or understand

    799€ for a portable bluetooth speaker, I've seen it all now. I love how these companies try to ignore physics and spew all this mumbo jumbo that makes it sound you're buying something revolutionary to justify the price. Everyone should audition these at your local shop before throwing your money at them, unless you're loaded and want to flex your wealth. If these could at least beat or even match my 150€ studio monitors I would accept the price tag.

      💯% agree
      Main problem in this days is that most users doesn't even know how music should sound. It's all about bass in this BTS category. If you are a musician and know how instruments and voices sound in real and in studio you'll immediately notice that 95% of all headphones and bluetooth speakers just sound off. But, and that's also a big problem, most modern recordings are mastered strange and weird just to match the strange and weird sound setting on most todays BTS and headphones. At the end of the day it completely depends on what kind of music you are listening and how good recording and source device are. Simple electronic and EDM Pop and HipHop is OK with this typical v-shaped sound signature with boomy bloated bass and sizzling highs and weak mids. But if you know instruments and some specific voices really good you offend your ears with all those overpriced fancy stuff. Exactly like you said: Some small monitors and a small amp is pure enjoyment.

      While I agree that this is too expensive I think it's not fair to compare them to powered studio monitors. Yes studio monitors can offer great sound for the price but it's a completly
      different category and use case. A reasonable small, portable and battery driven speaker is build for different needs. And sure, it needs to make compromises in terms of sound to achieve that.

      You are comparing apple to orange. A dedicated studio monitor will always have better sound than "portable" speaker.

      @@neogenesus Yes, but a portable speaker has no business being that high in price. Imagine if all the other companies went like ''Hey, they're selling the same shit for triple the price! Why don't we do the same?'' Tech companies need to stop acting ''Gucci'' we don't need that shit in tech.
