    I'm not surprised of our record but am surprised how we got here. I believe on this podcast, Mike Sando said we were 10th in offensive EPA last year but almost last on defense. Last year we had the least amount of possessions because the defense couldn't get off the field. However this year, it's opposite.

    I'd like to advocate for BPA in the draft even at this point for those tempted to draft based on need... the draft is not the end-all be-all of building a team. Trade a little depth to get your hands on decent players. Cross is good. Abe is decent. Olu is serviceable.
    If a blue-chip o-line is in the draft and you can reasonably go get him, of course. We'll all be happy. But... does that guy even exist? Gambling on a Guard that may not even be starting quality when you can grab a great WR, TE, or even DL or LB... now you can trade a high value RB, edge, or corner (where you have depth) for a known Guard. BPA is about getting the overall value of your team up, so you can leverage that value for need.

    • @matthewphillips5911
      @matthewphillips5911 6 дней назад

      Btw, I'm not saying don't draft a Guard... I'm saying don't *overdraft* a Guard

    I want to add this. I’m leaning more and more every day towards Grubb staying. I feel like the Seahawks address Qb this year and Grubb solves his problems

    The offense this year lacked identity. They didn't know who they were, they had nothing to "hang their hat on" so to speak.

    Geno discourse is so annoying, half the fanbase that wants Geno gone just want this franchise to do something at the QB position this front office has not prioritized drafting and developing qb. I basically want them to draft a QB who don’t fold under pressure that’s it.

    Another banger show 👌🏻 Love this cast. I would probably keep Grubb. It gets a little dicey with us cycling through people. If it’s best for all parties then let him go. Snyder tends to be a wild card with hiring and firing so who knows.

  • @Perfumery_by_Sabin

    This is weird, I went from fire grubb to in the fence. He did have a pretty shitty hand of cards dealt when it comes to roster help on his side of the ball in his first year of trying to make it in the nfl

  • @JohnnyJamsSEA
    @JohnnyJamsSEA 6 дней назад

    Tying several points together... If being closer to the college game is a benefit in the draft, keeping Grubb and OL coach Huff makes sense. Also, if you're serious about upgrading the O line, wouldn't trading DK for a good veteran guard, draft capital, and cap space also make sense? WR1 JSN, WR2 Tyler, WR3 Bobo/White/Young and a significantly better O line sounds good to me.

    • @real.cryptic
      @real.cryptic 6 дней назад

      I like this idea but most likely the Seahawks would draft a guy to replace DK’s production. It doesn’t have to be a wr could be a guy like Warren from Penn State. He’s really good.

    • @JohnnyJamsSEA
      @JohnnyJamsSEA 5 дней назад

      @real.cryptic They wouldn't have to if they're serious about having a more balanced offense. Dump Brown and Fant at TE and draft another solid one like Barner to help with the run game.

  • @RH1N082
    @RH1N082 6 дней назад

    @Brian - if you want to throw out the Bears game as an indicator, then I think you also need to do the same with the 2nd AZ game, since that was just as much a rarity.
    In any case, I think it was poor decision making for Schneider to hire both a rookie OC and rookie o-line coach, straight out of the college ranks (unless Grubb made it a condition in order to be hired). If the Hawks decide to keep Grubb, they definitely need a more experienced o-line coach in place of Huff.

    • @jcs480able
      @jcs480able 6 дней назад

      Yep, definitely not writing off Haynes or even Bradford until oline coaching gets right.
      I mean Mark Schlereth has indirectly pointed to coaching for so long.
      He believed Damien Lewis played at an all pro level for most of the 2024 season.
      That's not just a fluke..it's coaching

      The cardinals game meant a ton and was played with normal rest. Thursday night games, especially on the road, especially in the rain, especially late in the season, are pretty misleading.

    • @RH1N082
      @RH1N082 5 дней назад

      @@hawkblogger 100% agree that those are all legitimate factors. Guess the point I was/am trying to make is, given that I'm in agreement with Nathan on the topic, I also do feel like the offense didn't do enough to adapt, and felt like it had progressively gotten worse as the season went on. Wasn't trying to use the Bears game as the sole example, but many of the other games in which we lost as well.
      Put simply, just as much as the Bears game was a bit of an outlier, with short rest and awful weather conditions affecting the team that week, using the 2nd AZ game as a counter argument to refute that the offense did not progressively get worse seems a little off, as there are legitimate reasons to view the offensive performance in that game to be as much of an anomaly. No other games this season closely resembles the balance and effectiveness of the run and pass game, and just how fast the ball was able to get out, as it did in that AZ game (mayyybe the ATL game? But again, we're talking about obvious improvements as the season progressed, and that Falcons game was during the first half of the season).
      Anyway, really appreciate and respect your opinions, but just wanted to share my thoughts and perspective as well.

    If I was a GM I’d stay away from o-linemen with previous knee surgeries etc I know it will limit an already limited group of specimen but coming back from knee injuries is tough: no one will be the same no matter how hard they try

    I think you guys are overestimating the college-MacDonald connection. It’s been years and his personality doesn’t scream “recruiter.”
    AJ Barner transferred to Michigan his senior year and I think the Knight-connection is a reach.
    Pete was like “the guy” and top recruiter. MacDonald was more of the whiz kid.

    Good possibly great receivers have come to die in Seattle for years. I feel bad for any receiver not named jsn. Guys like Tyler, Bobo, and Cody are being wasted. Dk is whole other story. How that guy isn't game wrecking at least 4 games a season, even in this castrated offense, is ridiculous
