I am 65 and wore the wide leg, high waisted jeans when I was a teenager. So happy they’re back, (I’m the same size I was back then and wish I’d kept them all!).
Great content, Maria! You have given us so many ideas for what to pull (and what not to pull) when putting on those wide leg jeans. I especially appreciate the tips you threw in for those of us on the shorter side. I feel like you have saved me lots of trial and error (and clothes on the floor) while getting dressed!
Hi Deanne! I'm so glad you found it helpful. I actually had a whole section about petites and specific body types but I took it out because the video was soooo loong! If you have any questions, I'm here to help. Thank you for watching and great to see you as always!
Just found Your video and have been grateful as I wear these trousers with and without cuff. Many years ago, and also as child in the late 1970ies, I loved my several pais of wide legs. Happy that they came back. 😊
I could be wrong but I don't think it's so much the lug boot as the cuff on the pants that's making it look so masculine and heavy. I have a pair of LV and Chanel lug boots that I like very much! I would wear them with wide leg jeans.
Hello, I should have shown an example without the cuff too as I think the same issue applies - it's just too bulky on bulky in general but I know lots of women like that look so it's really a matter of preference. Keep rocking your lug boots and wide leg jeans if you love the look of it. I'm just expressing my opinion in regards to style "rules" I like to follow and I know it's not for everyone. Thanks so much for watching!
I LOVE wide leg jeans, but without the cuff. I think the cuff looks clunky. Mine are from the Sky High collection from Old Navy. One thing I love about high waisted jeans, they hold my tummy in! Almost like wearing a support garmet. I wear them with delicate pointed toe slingbacks. LOVE the look! ❤😊
I love that you love wide leg jeans! Yes I agree cuffs are not for everyone but the same rules apply, cuffed or not-cuffed. They look amazing with a slingback! Thanks so much for watching
Growing up with Skinny jeans, I'm struggling to feel comfortable in anything wide legged. I feel that I dont look right! Plus all my tops/jackets etc are suited to slim/skinny silhouettes and didn't want to buy a whole new wardrobe, but seeing your styling has given me some ideas and more importantly the motivation to try again, so thank you.
Hi Tanya, I'm glad I can give you some inspiration to try other silhouettes. Change takes getting used to but I'm sure you look just as fabulous in wide legs as you do in skinnies. Wear what you love and feel your most confident self in. Cheers!
Omg!! I just took the plunge and wore a wide leg cuff yesterday with a pair of red sneakers a simple white tank and black cardigan 🙌🏼 ❤thank you for reassuring me and my choice! You look very pretty in this simple look regardless of the shoes! 😊
That's ok, it's not for everyone but I showed them as they cuff is trending right now. The same rules apply without a cuff. Hope you found it helpful regardless. Thanks for watching.
Loved this video; I totally agreed with your choices, very nice. Since I’m older it’s a challenge to find shirts with a sleeve, no amount of bicep curls is helping! 😅
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I noticed as I'm in peri-menonpause, building muscle is harder and harder. I've increased my weights from 3-5 to 5-8-10 lbs and that is helping. Also, I've increased my protein. Just something I'm doing and thought I'd share. Thanks for watching!!!
I really like this type of content: it gives us so many ideas. I wear a lot of this type of trouser. And I always struggle to find a balance. Now I know what to do!! Great tips Maria!! Much love from Portugal
Great tips Maria. I loved seeing all of these suggestions. All though they looked so stunning on you, I just can't get myself on board with purchasing the wide cuff jeans. But we'll see. I have two pairs of wide leg jeans in a trouser style that I haven't even wore yet. One is a medium wash and one is a dark wash. Your video inspired me to get these out and start styling them. Every once in a while I get in these ruts where when I want to wear jeans, I keep pulling out the same pair. When I'm very sure that I probably have over 30+ pairs to choose from. Now thanks to you and this video, I'll be wearing my wide legs. You are so right. Getting a good fit in your jeans is everything. Ty and have a fabulous weekend.
Hi Mary, so great to see you. I'm so glad you found it helpful and inspiring to pull out your wide leg jeans again. By all means, don't do the cuff if you don't want to. It's trending right now so I wanted to show it but the same applies for all wide legs when wearing flats, they don't have to be cuffed. Thank you for your kindness and taking the time to watch. xo
Maria, love your style! This is a super informative video. So many helpful tips especially for someone who has all but sworn off wide leg jeans if they can look as you make them look then I will give them another try
Hi Maria, I am so happy to have hit on your channel. This video is great. I love wide leg jeans and trousers. I am an older retired woman and some might consider me too old to wear this style but I love this it! I think as long as I take your suggestions I can pull it off. I think going with a dressier pointed toe will be best. I am 5’6” and 130 lbs so I think I am average size. I loved the jacket portion of your video. I also like your style of presenting the video. You are straightforward and stick to the subject. Thank you!❤
Hi Amanda, I'm so grateful you clicked on this video and I'm thrilled you enjoyed it and found it helpful. Age should never be a factor in how you dress. Always wear what excites you and makes you feel your most confident, confortable, and stylish self. Hope to see you again and have a beautiful day!
Hello Maria Sunshine! I love seeing all the ways to stylishly wear jeans! I haven’t tried the wide legs yet, but you are giving me the inspiration to attempt them. This video obviously took some serious time to make! Thank you for a wonderful video that will help all of us! Keep being your delightful self! Smiles, Stacy 💛💛💛 xoxo
Hi Stacy! You are so lovely!!! I'm so glad you found this helpful and hopefully inspired you to try them. Yes this took quite a while to plan, film, edit so I'm so glad it's resonating with the audience :) Thank you for always being so kind and sweet. Have a lovely week!
This is a good one with excellent guidelines & tips, well illustrated & explained. You are so real and you make me smile when you say things where you almost crack yourself up. I’m glad you don’t edit those out! I also love your onscreen *corrections/clarifications. I love the top you’re wearing at the beginning & end. If it’s still available please share. Also thanks for the tip on the Amazon mesh shoes. Not wanting to invest much in that trend yet. Would love a review of and styling video on several mesh shoe options in black & nude or another light color!!
Hi Karen, thank you for your very lovely comment. I appreciate it so much. Here is a link to the top lilysilk.to/EFtVuRs and I have a 20% code: 20Maria I'm wearing a M and think it's true to size. I'm obsessed with those mesh flats and but I also did not want to spend a lot of them. I'd say these amazon ones are pretty good. I've been wearing them non stop and they are comfortable. I will buy them in the the nude/tannish color as well. Thanks so much for watching :)
Such a great video, Maria!! I love wide leg pants, but because I have curvy hips, I feel that wide leg jeans are just too much for me. You gave me inspiration to try them though, these look great and your ideas are awesome!
Hi Mila, so great to see you and thank you for your comment. I highly recommend you try them. I think they will compliment your curves in such a positive way and make your waist look even tinier. Definitely balance your shoulders to create an hourglass silhouette. Have fun and let me know how it works for you. xo
Hi Marie, thank you for watching. No worries on not loving the ballet flats. The wonderful thing about fashion is that there are so many options. Cheers and thanks for watching!
I wore my wide leg jeans in a dark wash with the big cuffs and got complements on them last night. Wore them with new off white fashion sneakers. Btw, I am 5' tall and am 69. I am still working and will probably wear these to work (I am a child psychologist.) Great video!
I thought you looked exceptionally elongated with the tube top. The high waist of the jeans combined with the high heel and the tube top totally worked for you.
She's showing the style of the cuff, as a lot of people DO like this look. Its not everyone's cup of tea, but sheesh, the comments are so single-minded
Hi, I try not to let it bother me or take it personally. Everyone has different tastes and some like to be more vocal about it than others. It's fine. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts.
Aloha from Honolulu, Maria! I’m a fairly new subscriber, and starting to catch up with your past videos and I must say that I’m really loving your content! I LOVE this wide cuffed jean on you and also how you styled your other wide cuff jeans too! I bought a pair of barrel leg jeans from Anthropologie and would be very interested to see how you would style them as well. Mahalo Maria!❤️
Hi Susan, I'm thrilled to have you here and thank you so much for your lovely message. I love the look of the barrel jeans and I have a pair from COS that are slightly barrel, not exaggerated as I've see like the ones from Citizens of Humanity. I treat them like a regular pair of jeans for the most part but also like to balance the volume of the jeans with some padded shoulders to create an hourglass effect and minimize my waist. I like to keep the shoe dainty and feminine to offset the jeans, not that they look masculine but they are less feminine with that volume. Hope that helps! Thank you for being here!
@@MariaNicoleStyle Wow, I'm so impressed that you actually replied back to me, Maria! YES, a top with shoulder pads is exactly what I will get in my next shopping trip to create that hourglass look and minimize my waist! Thank you for that great styling tip, I truly appreciate it! PS- after watching some of your older videos with your blond hair, I think I'm really digging the darker color!
Hi Susan, thank you so much! I'm enjoying my natural color too. I am so glad my tip was helpful. And I really truly enjoy interacting with this community. I'm still a small channel and don't get tons of comments so I appreciate each one and do my best to respond and show my appreciation.
Thank you for watching. the black ones are Open Edit on Nordstrom but I just found them on the Rack: rstyle.me/+yh4U-Fo3pFaRboQ-Bhtiag and the t-strap beige are from mango but they are sold out sadly.
No problem, there is nothing right or wrong, I was just expressing my opinion but please wear what you love and feel your best self in. Thanks so much for watching.
Im a wide leg jean fan, they seem to balance my pear shaped body perfectly. Quick question- was there any stretch in the grey Zara jean? Thank you Maria, I absolutely loved this very informative video
I'm so glad you like wide leg jeans. Yes I think they are perfect for pear shapes, all shapes really, if balanced on top the right way. The zara jean does not have any stretch and I would definitely try a couple of sizes as i think it runs a little small. But it's a gorgeous jean and I love that its not too too wide. Thanks so much for watching, Hope you see you again.
I live in wide leg pants. However I struggle to wear any heel now due to foot surgery. Im 5ft and have found that if I get my jeans/pants shortend a little bit I can get more versatility out of all my wide leg jeans, pants. I do struggle often finding the right top at times. But I now cannot even wear leggings. I cant do skinny legs. I hate the feel of the material on my legs 😂. I hope they dont ever go out of style
Thank you for your comment. I think wide legs will always be around but perhaps they won't be as popular. wide legs and baggy silhouettes were part of spring 25 runways so I don't think they are leaving us any time soon. I'm happy too as I really don't like skinny jeans or anything too tight. Leggings are for working out in my mind and I hesitate to wear them as fashion. But I also say never say never when it comes to style and mine evolves alot Thank you so much for watching and sharing!
I wear baggies most of the time now. Now your "gangbanger type"....stylish trouser type and cargo. I wear dressy loafers and oxfords that have at least a 2" heel. Can't stand skinny or tight jeans anymore. I would get compliments all the time while working at Target from the young people. Since I am retired, I don't want to spend a lot of money on pants. I shop at American Eagles and Aeropostale. At 59, I don't give a hoot if I am the oldest customer in the store. 😉 Great tips Maria.
Clarissa, I love your ageless mindset when it comes to fashion! I've heard good things about both brands. I like Abercrombie and Fitch too, and I don't care either if its too "young" for me :) Always so glad to see you. have an awesome week.
Sound advice as always----perhaps it's just me, but I simply cannot get past those extra extra wide cuffs on the Agolde's. They SCREAM "Country Girl"---and rather compliment the chunky boots/loafers you first showed because there's so much weight down there anyway from the wide cut and huge cuffing details; not to mention they're the footwear of choice when doing barn chores.. LOL. Just add a rope belt and patchwork blouse, and you're ready for that hayride. LOL
That's funny. The cuff is trending right now so I went with it. I think the fit is great and know the cuff is not everyone's cup of tea. The same rules apply for flats, whether or not the jean is cuffed. In hindsight I should have opted for a plain wide leg as many seem to be distracted by the cuff. Thanks for watching!
Is it the tank with the sweetheart neckline? It's old from H&M but this reformation one is very similar: rstyle.me/+HbjY96NGiR42tOd4s3Lc2g Thanks for watching!
Hi Jan, it's from Lilysilk: lilysilk.to/QkOuANO I have a code 20MARIA for 20% off but they have a mother's day sale right now too. I'm wearing a M and it's fitted. I would probably feel better in a L because I have broad shoulders and it's a little tight in that area. Thanks so much for watching,
Back in the late 60's - 70's, I wore these with 2" platforms and loved them (minus the cuff). BTW, as a former Chathamite, I STILL love pineapple on pizza...😂
Oxfords aren't my style so I've never tried to style them but they appear to be a slimmer shoe which would contrast with a wide leg jean so it might work?
Hi! I first tried the 28 and had to return them as they were quite large (I'm usually a 28 in other brands). The 27 fit better but still a little loose however the 26 would definitely be too tight. I'm between sizes and when that happens I usually prefer the larger size. Hope that helps!!! Thanks for watching.
this video is not about a cuffed jean, its about wide leg jeans in general. The cuff is trending so I thought I'd showcase it but it's obviously not liekd by you ladies. Just ignore it and watch for the rules as there is a lot of good information in this video. And I'm wearing other wide leg jeans in the video, not just the cuff
Great advice, not loving the heaviness of the Jean for Summer…2 things I noticed to give back advice for you…the lighting on your lovely face is not ideal, highlighting the space between your eyes, unflatteringly. Also the picture hook on the wall …. Find something to put up! Also add a pop of color on the couch with a pillow. 🤗. Thanks girl🙏🏻!
Thanks for pointing out a very self conscious part of my face - I've tried adding highlighter to the area to diminish the shadow but its not always perfect. I have a bright andy warhol inspired picture of my dog which is too colorful and distracting so I always take it down when filming. I used to have plants in the background but I got complaints it was too distracting so I try to keep the background clear.
Oh my goodness really? They are beautiful jeans and I definitely feel that I would love them more if I could size down just one size. I am strongly considering selling these and getting a replacement one size smaller as these are still available on the reformation website. Thank you for taking the time to watch and I hope to see you again!
You should have a wide Leg jeans that are hem right not folded like that. Everything look ugly with wide leg folded like that. Your ideas are good . Just an observation. Thanks
The jeans came that way! Not sure if you missed me state that in the video more than once. It's currently a trending style. The same rules apply, just ignore the cuff. Thanks for watching
It's a matter of style preference. I think both jeans looked very stylish and modern. Nothing "mom" about them but everyone is entitled to their opinion. Thanks for sharing and watching.
Yes I hated that clunky boot, it's a definite don't. As for the big cuff, it's trending right now so I featured it but I know it's not everyone's taste. The same rules apply, cuffed or no cuff. Thanks for watching.
Ha ha, sometimes comfort wins out but far too many women are wearing them as fashion items. For me, I know I am sacrificing style when I wear them and it's only on quick errands to the post office or supermarket. :) thanks for watching.
Wide pants are very comfortable. We used to call the Elephant leg pants. I loved them with plateform sandles. The negative side is having big long hems that dragged up dirt for my feet. Anyway, i love all the wise tips and about the waistline; hour glass fiqure and body line.
I had a segment in the video talking about petites and I removed it because the video was very long but I wish I kept it in. I said that it’s a myth that shorter ladies can’t wear wide leg jeans. I think they are very flattering and elongating on short women, especially when high waisted. Avoid the cuff and follow the rules about length and they will be amazing on you. Thanks for watching
I'm so grateful you clicked on this video and I hope you found it helpful. Many of you are expressing dislike for the cuffed jeans. Hi Jacquie, oh it's too bad you didn't keep them! Have you bought them again? Thank so much for watching! I appreciate it a ton.
same jacquiee wish i kept mine too, but then again, I think the sizing would be off now - even tho same size, different body shape 😏
This is the best advice on how to wear a wide leg jeans with different choices side by side so you can see the difference. Thank you Maria Nicole.

Hi Michele, I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for your sweet comment. Great to see you!
I could be wrong but I don't think it's so much the lug boot as the cuff on the pants that's making it look so masculine and heavy. I have a pair of LV and Chanel lug boots that I like very much! I would wear them with wide leg jeans.

Not a fan of the cuff
That's ok, it's not for everyone but I showed them as they cuff is trending right now. The same rules apply without a cuff. Hope you found it helpful regardless. Thanks for watching.
Agree…wide legs shouldn’t have a cuff
The cuff seems to break up the long flowing line. I don't care for it either.
Me either
Ruined the entire video because it ruined every look.

This was a fantastic video! So so helpful and well demonstrated! 👏😍
I'm so glad you found it helpful! Thanks for watching
🙋♀️ first one here! 😍 Thanks for the great tips, maria. As always amazing video🤗
I'm so glad to see you Aida, thank you for your continued support. So happy to have you here. xo
Great video! Thank you, may I know where you got your pointed Mary jane?
Thank you for watching. the black ones are Open Edit on Nordstrom but I just found them on the Rack: rstyle.me/+yh4U-Fo3pFaRboQ-Bhtiag and the t-strap beige are from mango but they are sold out sadly.
I wear them with white sneakers (for school) , smart boots and Mary Jane’s, I feel fine ❤
No problem, there is nothing right or wrong, I was just expressing my opinion but please wear what you love and feel your best self in. Thanks so much for watching.
New subscriber! Loved this video! So glad i found your cannel especially as your exactly same size as me 😊
That means so much to me! Thank you. I hope to see you again.
Wonderful video!! So helpful ❤️
Hi Mila, thanks so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I appreciate you watching.
I found this video very helpful! Thanks Maria!
Hi Hanna, I'm thrilled you found it helpful. Thanks for watching.
I gained a few good ideas I can use--thanks!
Oh I'm so glad! Thank you for watching!
I’m 56, how does society expect us to dress - like the Golden Girls? I share your sentiment.
Super helpful content!
so glad you enjoyed it!
Great explanation and examples, thanks!
Hi Lisa, I'm so glad you found it helpful. Thank you for watching!
@@MariaNicoleStyle They otherwise looked great on you; and are obviously a quality pair of denim....which is what Agolde is known for.
Thank you for all the styling tips ❤
I'm so glad you found it helpful! xo thank you for watching
Love the looks!
thank you and thanks for watching
I looked for a link to that fabulous tank top, but it isn’t there. Do you have any information on it?
Is it the tank with the sweetheart neckline? It's old from H&M but this reformation one is very similar: rstyle.me/+HbjY96NGiR42tOd4s3Lc2g Thanks for watching!
Very nice idea❤ Thank you
Thanks so much for watching!
Where is your white sweater with thin black horizontal stripes from, or the brand? With the light color jeans, Girlfriend brand.
Thanks so much for watching,
Great information! Thank you!
So glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching! :)
Back in the late 60's - 70's, I wore these with 2" platforms and loved them (minus the cuff). BTW, as a former Chathamite, I STILL love pineapple on pizza...😂
Hi Patt, thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts. I'm a fan of platforms and pizza with pineapples (and jalepenos too :)
Tbh, the cuff on the jeans is not a good look and there lies the problem. Just my opinion
The beauty of style is that everyone has different tastes. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
It’s something new I want to try I need your help
I'd be happy to answer any questions you have. Thanks for watching!
Eyewear, ballet shoes are hair, chains or sandals with my wide leg jeans
Thanks for watching!

Thank you Stacy, I appreciate that very much. Thanks for watching.
Can I wear oxfords with wide leg jeans?
Oxfords aren't my style so I've never tried to style them but they appear to be a slimmer shoe which would contrast with a wide leg jean so it might work?
Do the Agolde fit true to size in your opinion?
New subscriber!
Thank you Sheri! So glad to have you here.
What about bell cut jeans.
love them. I would treat bell bottoms the same as the wide legs as far as how to style them. Thank you for watching.
I would have avoided the cuff, it just makes you look shorter and wider and makes styling more tricky
I highly disagree on all points but thanks for sharing your opinion.
Can’t get by the cuff, eye goes right to cuff.
this video is not about a cuffed jean, its about wide leg jeans in general. The cuff is trending so I thought I'd showcase it but it's obviously not liekd by you ladies. Just ignore it and watch for the rules as there is a lot of good information in this video. And I'm wearing other wide leg jeans in the video, not just the cuff
I like chunky sole. It’s popular in Europe, neede be on the tall side
Chunky soles are popular in Europe? Oh interesting. Thanks for sharing.
@@MariaNicoleStyle it’s my design background talking. I am not a videographer for sure! 👌🏻
thank you! :)
I personally thought the bigger jeans looked much more flattering
Oh my goodness really? They are beautiful jeans and I definitely feel that I would love them more if I could size down just one size. I am strongly considering selling these and getting a replacement one size smaller as these are still available on the reformation website. Thank you for taking the time to watch and I hope to see you again!
You should have a wide
Leg jeans that are hem right not folded like that. Everything look ugly with wide leg folded like that. Your ideas are good . Just an observation. Thanks
The jeans came that way! Not sure if you missed me state that in the video more than once. It's currently a trending style. The same rules apply, just ignore the cuff. Thanks for watching
I don't care for wide leg jeans with a cuff
That's a style preference. Cuffed or uncuffed, the same "rules" would apply. Thanks for watching!

Thank you!
They still look like "mom" jeans on you. It's definitely not a good look for you.
It's a matter of style preference. I think both jeans looked very stylish and modern. Nothing "mom" about them but everyone is entitled to their opinion. Thanks for sharing and watching.
Put a belt on it look fine
Thanks for watching!
The problem with every look in the 1st 1/3 of the video is the big-cuffed jean… and that ugly clunky black boot.
Yes I hated that clunky boot, it's a definite don't. As for the big cuff, it's trending right now so I featured it but I know it's not everyone's taste. The same rules apply, cuffed or no cuff. Thanks for watching.
I don't like the cuff at all. It's too wide and looks like you're too lazy to hem your jeans.
lol! 😂 thank you for stopping by!
Uggs should never be worn period
Ha ha, sometimes comfort wins out but far too many women are wearing them as fashion items. For me, I know I am sacrificing style when I wear them and it's only on quick errands to the post office or supermarket. :) thanks for watching.
Most trends just need to be skipped!!! American fashion has lost its way.
Wide pants are very comfortable. We used to call the Elephant leg pants. I loved them with plateform sandles. The negative side is having big long hems that dragged up dirt for my feet.
Anyway, i love all the wise tips and about the waistline; hour glass fiqure and body line.
Thank you so much. I'm glad you got some good advise out of it.
Everyone has opinions and we can't all agree. That is what makes us unique and independent.
For sure this type of jeans is for tall people
I had a segment in the video talking about petites and I removed it because the video was very long but I wish I kept it in. I said that it’s a myth that shorter ladies can’t wear wide leg jeans. I think they are very flattering and elongating on short women, especially when high waisted. Avoid the cuff and follow the rules about length and they will be amazing on you. Thanks for watching
