THIS is what a hardcore show is supposed to look like. No kickboxing, no alpha male bullshit, just a huge pile of screaming people on the stage! Awesome.
@ryspace Just first three? Everything up to The Art of Drowning is pretty punk (just not all hardcore) and then it became more alternative, but still fucking amazing.
@guitardeadsociety God doesnt brainwash he gives us the right to choose, and war is just one of the prices of freewill you get people who choose to be bad people. And we christians are mostly straight edge too most of us dont drink, smoke, or do drugs, so how are we so bad?
ok this is to the people who only know december underground , sing the sorrow albums go listen to davey havok older albums like very proud of ya, the weight of words, shut your mouth and open your eyes
@Ryuk714 Weight Of Words isn't an AFI album actually, pretty much Nitro trying to make money off of them after they left by releasing a compilation haha
Why do you guys laugh or seem so surprised? Davey Havok has been playing hardcore and punk rock since before most of you were born. Go listen AFI's first three albums.
I still am perplexed by this video: Last time I saw Ceremony the singer reeked of straight up booze and was stumbling around the stage like my dad coming home after 'doing overtime at the office' Was this band edge at one point? Then again, I saw them in like 2010ish so it wasn't even that long after this video was uploaded
All members performing this song in this video are (or were) straight edge. You'll notice Ross, the singer, steps off the stage for this song. The drummer here was filling in just for this show (dude from Blacklisted I think? He's edge). The guitarist, Anthony, is openly and vocally edge. The bassist for this show, TOAST, was edge at the time (dunno if he still is, he quit the band and I haven't seen him in years). And Davey Havok is edge. This wouldn't happen under any other circumstances really. It was more of a "the stars all aligned" thing. PS, the guy with the receding hairline cut was Kevin from the Office for Halloween and decided to just let it grow out afterwards. This show was shortly after Halloween.
@Eggman01 He finds belief in god delusional and destructive (which, in many cases, it is), and is against animal cruelty. SXE is about sharing your beliefs and respecting others. He respects everyone, but was absolutely right to speak out for what he believes. Once again, nothing against you. Believe what you want, eat what you want, it's your life. Peace.
@SuperTeenSpaz wrong. Ian Mackaye didn't become vegan till the late 80s. Years after Minor Threat. The first real straight edge BAND were SSD, who were big red meat eaters. Veganism and Straight Edge didn't really come together till the late 80s and early 90s
I love my drugs and meat, and I still want Davey's shirt because it's just too funny. I'll never lose my respect for Davey, he's an intelligent and damn awesome individual. Did he really just say "fuck God"? Well damn, I love Davey even more now.
@chearn73 You're right, music elitism is so ridiculous, as well as straight edge elitism. Nobody is better than anybody just because they don't drink alcohol and stuff. Is more than that.
wait just because someone isnt a vegan/vegetarian that doesnt make them straight edge i thought it was just not drinking, smoking, and no other drugs??...
I've watched this a couple times a year for 10 years now, it is so awesome!
Same. From the moment I found it. I had just picked up Violence Violence and Failure by Outbreak around that time.
I'm not saying anything about Davey, I love the man. But it really is awesome when his punk rock-ness resurfaces, if only for a few seconds.
It never resurfaces, it's always there. Not a day goes by with me remembering where I came from.
I assume it's the same with Davey. Always punk.
It never left, he just wanted that 13 year old girl money
I wish afi concerts were still like this
davey havok covers this song from time to time to remind everyone that he's still hxc.
The Ol' Friar Tuck never gets old..
Wow. I have never before seen Davey in only sXe show. ;) Fukin great concert.
@InTheFuture2808 Davey Havok has been straight edge vegan since like 1993, when AFI first started as a hardcore punk band.
I support that haircut 100%
I revisit this from time to time and it somehow gets even more insane lol 🔥
THIS is what a hardcore show is supposed to look like. No kickboxing, no alpha male bullshit, just a huge pile of screaming people on the stage! Awesome.
> stands at the back and never makes eye contact with anyone anyways
What’s wrong with being a jacked guy who’s confident in himself? Davey Havok is huge gym goer and gym bro.
I love both songs, but i never realized how similar kersed and straight edge revenge are
that's some proper fucking show etiquette right there. fucking love this.
Wow. Such a positive opening to the song. Full of hatred. Nothing better than tolerance, right?
Ok zoomer.
@ryspace Just first three? Everything up to The Art of Drowning is pretty punk (just not all hardcore) and then it became more alternative, but still fucking amazing.
Well, that proves that AFI could easily go back to punk. One can always dream~
A friendly reminder that the guy who wrote Veronica Sawyer Smokes is still fucking hardcore. Screams like he did on SYMAOYE.
Davey won't be saying that about GOD when he meets him face to face in the day of judgment. This is coming from someone who used to a big AFI fan
@@joshuasmith6346 Fear is your only god you delusional smoothbrain
@@joshuasmith6346 not really gonna be a problem is it, same way you can shit talk Santa without consequence.
@@darylwinstone805 we'll see one day if it'll be Santa or Jesus Christ
@@joshuasmith6346 it'll be neither mate, grow up
Fucking sick. I wish AFI played more hardcore/punk like there first couple albums.
@creepXeyes "Nice!!" :) I've never been to an AFI concert but I do hope I get to go to one. Maybe next time they go on tour XD
Excuse me while I go into a depressive coma thanks to the realization that this show existed, aaaaaaaaaaaaaand I missed it.
@AFIownage maybe i think im not sure but hey you got to apprecieate on what songs they picked from certain bands to play
When the song starts you can't even see where the stage is! This is why hardcore rules!
respect where respect is due
gotta love the hair at 1:22
@guitardeadsociety God doesnt brainwash he gives us the right to choose, and war is just one of the prices of freewill you get people who choose to be bad people. And we christians are mostly straight edge too most of us dont drink, smoke, or do drugs, so how are we so bad?
can't wait to see them this thursday! where's the pit at??? just stage diving, which is fine but no slamming.
Looks like the dude at 1:21 lost his hair piece
We gotta party with that guy

no, that was anti-mohawk :D
This made my day!
this looks like late 80, early 90s hardcore.
i listen to ceremony everyday. i listen to afi everyday. this shit is in my blood. thank you for posting this.
ok this is to the people who only know december underground , sing the sorrow albums go listen to davey havok older albums like very proud of ya, the weight of words, shut your mouth and open your eyes

Errrrrrrhhh meh gerddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd
And this is why hes such a bad ass!!!
@BitterforSweet2 that's just the norm at hardcore shows. no barrier the band is on the same level as the crowd. that's the real deal!
I'm sXe. I love AFI. I learned about sXe through Dave. So this is a big deal for me. xD
Aguanté DaveY
@Ryuk714 Weight Of Words isn't an AFI album actually, pretty much Nitro trying to make money off of them after they left by releasing a compilation haha
Say what you like about Davey Havok, he's got a fucking awesome shout.
Why do you guys laugh or seem so surprised?

Joe Dirt i was thinking the same thing, i know there guitarist anthony is edge im not sure about the rest of the band
Hmm I know the vocalist does vocals for a straight edge band called ex youth, he probably went back and forth
no thats the guitarist anthony, the rest of the band don't claim 2 be straight edge

1:21 artificial bald argharghargh
The scream at 1:12 genuinely sounds scared XD
@CityPosy ts a hardcore show man, its what happens
@Eggman01 He finds belief in god delusional and destructive (which, in many cases, it is), and is against animal cruelty. SXE is about sharing your beliefs and respecting others. He respects everyone, but was absolutely right to speak out for what he believes.

Someone had that haircut for their senior portrait in my class. hahahaha.
OMFG.... this shit is boss. I can think of no other way to describe it. *_*
....is it bad that I couldn't stop laughing? Why jump on the poor guy?! The lead singer is hot ;)
Can someone tell me what he says in the begining?
"I think it's been about 11 years since I've done anything on this stage-" then what?
Elisa Princess nevermind I got it now
ah good ol davey havok
Davey Havok is like:Fuck God, Fuck Animal Consumption and shit, and that dude at 1:21 he's like YEAHH AND FUCK HAIR TOO!!

Yup
Hard Times brought me here
Gavey Havok

@phogjuice Ross is edge. How about he handed Davey the mic bc their good friends and he needed a break?
i cant tell if his screams were from the song...or if he wanted help out of the crowd...
I love my drugs and meat, and I still want Davey's shirt because it's just too funny.
I'll never lose my respect for Davey, he's an intelligent and damn awesome individual.
Did he really just say "fuck God"? Well damn, I love Davey even more now.
@SuperTeenSpaz not true. what's your source?
Man Davey still gots it!!!!!!!!!!

Davey Havok is the fucking greatest
When was this?
DAVEY HAVOK ES EL PUTO AMO \m/,
@kingnat2 Oh shit, my bad, didn't go through the whole argument. I probably meant to respond to him, then.
I thought it was a magic show 😂😂😂
I eat meat and drink alcohol. A lot of it. Every day. But this is still fucking awesome.
Did anyone else notice the guy in the green shirts hair? lmfao
i dated that boy for 3 years. jaja
suzie silvertongue
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
We call that the Cul de sac
@chearn73 You're right, music elitism is so ridiculous, as well as straight edge elitism. Nobody is better than anybody just because they don't drink alcohol and stuff. Is more than that.
Im laughing so damn hard right now... xD
Bear Trap!
@necrocoprophilia
He said about all of hardcore punk ideas.

Eating meat
He said in an interview that he definitely said ebt.
@xvincexsugruex How is GOd and eating meat bad?
@772stranger Which, is still great music, just not what they used to be.

1:20 green shirt bald guy
wait just because someone isnt a vegan/vegetarian that doesnt make them straight edge i thought it was just not drinking, smoking, and no other drugs??...
the true straight edge lol
Would love to have been there but sucks that the slightest punch or kick in the head will make me blind
same, 'cept i might go brain dead instead, and maybe a little more than 'the slightest' of blows
Yeah maybe when davey and jade do XTRMST it would be easy on us. Where I am from not a lot of sXe bands are here perhaps they will become the first
