Wow. Ok I am really late in the game. I played clarinet for 5 years but we began moving for my father's work. My granddaughter plays clarinet. She didn't know I did. It just happened. I am so proud of her. This is amazing.
trap4dafu2k0fit props don't effect score, but I will say that avons poor show design most likely kept them from winning last year. However, flower mound is better in every single aspect. They play harder music, sound just as good or better, look perfect, and have perfectly designed shows. The same applies to BA (who didn't even have any field props last year) I'm sorry but with flomo and broken arrow you just can't say Avon is the best in the country right now. I'd say the same for Carmel though, I don't think they are the very best either.
Carmel's shows definitely revolve around music more than anything. The directors there spend almost every moment detailing visual and music performance; props are always the least concern. Carmel's score was written by the one and only Richard Saucedo, which already lets you know that its good quality stuff.
By the looks of it, we've got an Avon alumni/director/marcher/parent/fan, a Flower Mound alumni/director/marcher/parent/fan, and a Carmel alumni/director/marcher/parent/fan. Let's go for 4/4. Where's Broken Arrow? And so this isn't a useless bit of obnoxiousness, does anyone have links to the full shows for those groups? I haven't found them all.
As a Carmel grad, I find harloffs technique interesting. Some of the concepts are the same, but the actual part of 12% more during the show. At matters is drastically different from what we've been taught. Always always always practice exactly as you perform in the shows that matter. Interesting to me.
branniganw19 Brannigan, is that you? It's me, R......, the obnoxious woodwind! I'm afraid to be more specific than that. I think the yelling also makes it feel like home. (I'm kidding, but now that I think about it, that may be true.)
Can’t believe my freshman year of marching band was almost 7 years ago….. I feel old

best marching band program in the country regardless of boa results
trap4dafu2k0fit carmel, broken arrow and flower mound would like a word with you...
no offense to them but their programs revolve mostly around GE affect and props , neither of which I and many others find very impressive

I know in kinda late but an experienced band person would know that it gives you a nice idea of what your tone should be next time you play
