Seriously. I rented one of their 2019 or 2020 ones. Slow as hell, especially on the highway. It has virtually no get up and go what so ever. My Highlander has more kick to it.
@@digitaldoc100 they are relatively the same price. I like the look of the Cherokee better (especially the rear end!). My parents have one and the v6 is nice in it. Has power! But the interior materials are so cheap feeling. The leather is okay, but like the buttons you press feel so cheap.
@@rosatavares5364 After 26 months and 24,000 miles, I can say that the only con that I've experienced is the engine is a bit sluggish (which they fixed in 2023 when they installed the turbo 2.0). The vehicle is comfortable, capable, luxurious (i have heated and cooled leather seats), economical...I average 27 MPG, and still looks amazing. I get compliments on it all the time. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone looking in this class! No mechanical or electrical/ electronics issues at all
I have a 2018 Compass Trailhawk and i love this refresh Jeep did, the only things I wish they kept was the red trim around the speakers and the half cloth/half leather seats

Want more of a comfy ride (importantly) and the powered third seat would be handy for us. I just don't like the trunk door... I wished they made it like the RX/LX trunk door. I'm a little indecisive about the off-road package though, because I live in a metropolitan area, so we're rarely go off roading Lol, but I think it would be good to have if we were to go camping in the woods, or we're leaving out of town to go to somewhere that's snows... to have that package available for those type of terrains would be handy. Is there any particular specs or reason you guys were going for premium? I'm still waiting to hear about the 2022 LX model before I make my decision on which is more suitable for us.

Recent ratings on these have been improving. This Compass is an improving line after years of ignominy as Jeep's black sheep. Not a bad choice. Compasses are assembled in Melfi, Italy or Toluca, Mexico.
I like that Jeep is putting some quality and fresh design into their lower models. Should sell well with some good advertising. Keep up the great work with your reviews.
The second generation compasses have been selling very well recently. When I’m on the road I see Jeep Compasses all the time, it has become a popular small suv

Kona Limited AWD has all that plus more. The 10 yr warranty is nice too. I had a 2010 Compass and I'm also disappointed they don't have better engine options. I ended up with a Kona N and love it
If the real grille is under the bumper, how low is the radiator and condenser in this, 9.3 sec 0-60, “off-road”, “rugged”, “trail rated”, “trail hawk”?!?! At least it looks the part.

They could tkee the chance to put the 3.2L from the Cherokee in the Compass instead of the old and crapy 2.4L...at least you can have the turbo ..!!!!!
Design design I don’t think they had planned on having so many great features, components and capabilities. Like built by selecting the area/section and attaching them to a outline/core/structure. So many great things but wow some real “really now”s / misses / forgotten / wtf why nots. Like a light under the hood? Even a manually operated light. Or have a 12v outlet so you could plug in something. Hopefully it won’t be much longer since it has been a while now, they had the brilliant idea to put one in the hatchback area. Another almost really great feature is the down light on the side view mirrors. Not sure yet if I like how much of the door is lit up. I know I like better it the bright white LED’s running the bottom length of each door. Black hole 2 is the center storage/arm rest. Again just a switch operation light A nice try with the scooped out area for device charge/connect cords. Better method is having them come out the front with a sliding keeper so you don’t have to mess with it each time you open it. Speaking of 12 v outlet in rear hatch. Yes there is one and you can change it from key on or always on. There is a second light in the hatch area. Unfortunately it is also placed very low to the deck which means BAD DESIGN that felt good to say. It means lights are easily blocked. A middle dome light sure would be nice. Or two of the almost worth it button lights for back seat. Yes it is nice to have separately controlled lights but while they are cute they are not able to produce enough light 2019 Cherokee TH E 49,700 miles fully loaded inside built for the car shows to promote the new blue color. I have added over 40 switches plus 8 RF controlled switches several dozen LED’s couple dozen feet of EL Wire outside a 52 “ curved light bar dual forward facing pin spots with high low or strobe 22” bumper mounted light bar one flood-spot and one line spot each side twin focused flood lights rear facing. And 8 horns plus some interior features I invented auto adjusting between seat and center console gap sealer and seat covers with device pocket with wireless charging and cup holders / pockets just outside of where your knees would be.
Great review. But one important question. Has stalantis figured out the constant rebooting and crashing of the radio / infotainment system yet? Super Chrysler tech replaced the system for the 5 time and boom crash. Problem ...it controls safety features and settings. When it goes black your done. Until it reboots. Chrysler techs can't duplicate yet we show them videos of the system crashing . Sad because it's a. Great small SUV when it works.
The power train is weak point of the compass. My wife’s brand new trail hawks compass needed an engine replacement for “excessive oil consumption” That 2.4 is garbage
Used to drive these in my rental fleet and even brand new, they would break left and right. Had one get returned with the transmission failing at 30k miles and another with only 250 miles that said service electronic parking brake in the instrument cluster. Not to mention mpg sucks compared to the Rav4 and even the Outback for it's size but that's FCA for you.

Really like the refresh, just wish they found a different place for the front camera and went with blacked out wheels. Also never understand the use of so much gloss black in a vehicle let alone an off road one that will get that dirty and scratched.
I seriously have to question the selection of the roof top antenna. The design management team must have a deal with somebody's brother in law for a warehouse full of these out of date and style units. Notice how so many well designed, good looking vehicles are ruined by simple choices: weird badging/logo placement, fake exhausts and vents or too much gloss black plastic, etc...
We just got rid of a new 2023 Grand Cherokee L Limited with that Uconnect5 after only owning it for 6 months. It's one big PITA! I would advise all to avoid it. JD Power just reduced their rating for the Dodge Ram because of that Uconnect5. We traded the Grand L for a new Trailhawk Cherokee with the tried and proven Uconnect4--I don't know why companies always feel the need to reinvent the wheel?

I truly think you telling people this thing will go anywhere is actually wrong. This is not a Wrangler, nor is it a Gladiator. This is a cross over, and can do dirt roads at best. This can’t go mudding, it can’t go rock crawling. It doesn’t have the capability you’re claiming.

I feel like the engine and transmission are severely outdated. I'd replace the engine with a turbo one and a better transmission in general.
India gets it with a 2 litre turbo diesel which is quite good

They really need to replace the 2.4 with an updated engine! I do like the styling of this newer Compass, the older ones were god awful!
That 2.4 was a dog in the Trailhawk. A salesman warned us about it when we bought our first Trailhawk back in 2016.
Why do manufacturers keep using hi-gloss black trims? Underpowered vehicle, but good review as always.

Length and Breadth are too small. It should be increase little more and bigger armrest too.

It is pretty messed-up they gave it that cheap, old school style antenna. I had that exact same engine in a 2015 Dodge Dart. It’s a total mess..
Now the only thing Jeep needs to do is replace the word “trail” with “track” 🤣

That iPad Infotainment screen is kinda distracting.
It's nice but I don't like how they didn't just do the whole screen. Like you have a nice ass screen but it's not full. That's lame
