Wow. Could not have said it better. I like to watch him before bed. He’s so comforting and good energy - ! He puts my head in a good place - o have watched other stuff or read too much and woke up with anxiety and nightmares.
agreed. Foresty's personality, his humor, his humility, his amazing mechanical abilities, his fitness and ability to grind out 2000 meters of elevation gain to get to a summit AND the spectacular scenery of his videos--the man does it all/has it all. I'm glad I found his channel and so happy to be a fan and supporter.

It's even better if you can grill it over open flame and you can get a bit of char on the corn...we used to cook corn on the cob on the barbeque that way, it's delicious.
Yes, I soak the husk in so.e sugar water than grill the corn on the bbq. It turns out so sweet and delicious. I have shown many people and they love it. Sometimes i will take the husk off and grill it for a minute over the open flame without the husk. Learned it from the annual carnival that goes through my province of Ontario.
You don't need to do anything at all, just take the loose bits of husk off, and grill it right it the husk. It steams beautifully, and chars here and there. Couldn't be simpler.
Glad your van was repaired quickly and sorry about the phone. Maybe in 10,000 years it’ll slide out of a glacier and be a historical artifact complete with videos!
That was the most perseverance I've ever witnessed for a "peace of mind" last search for the the lost possession. Ya mad bastard foresty , we love ya loads you absolute zen master.
Ya I've had 8 Van's in the past 10 years and only 2 from a dealer. I've also bought about 4 or 5 other Van's just checking them out. I don't pay more than $2000. My present home 2002 Toyota sienna was $1700.
I noticed that even if you lost your best phone, you still have great sense of cinematography. The angle that you chose when you're in the hotel, and the one with you sitting by the fair talking about a can of beer, the angle and composition is just perfect
Main reason I would like to see you upgrade vans, is watching the videos as you do the installs and the improvements you would make based on what you learned from your build on your current van and from living in it for so long.
I think one things that is important to realise with this is a lot of people watch for different reasons so different videos are good! I think there are a significant portion of us that are watching for your story with all the highs and lows it has and these kinda videos are perfect for that!
I had a mechanic tell me that on older vehicles, transmission flushes are a bad idea because it pushes sediment that isn't getting into the gears, right out of hiding and into all of that gearing. Love your videos man, keep em coming.
Not really true. Generally new fluid helps. The power flushes could be considered questionable but if you either drop the pan or splice into the cooler lines and let the pump do the work there is NO reason to be concerned with trans service.
“Comb the glacier” Spaceballs 👍👍 It’s still cheaper to get the transmission done than buy another van, plus you couldn’t really sell it like that. You made the right decision. Getting rid of that van would be the equivalent of shooting old yeller.
Lost phone, broken down van, no more foil for the corn... i had thought that foresty forest was thankfully spared by the wrath of 2020, but it seems it's reach knows no bounds. No need to apologize for anything bud do what you need to get yourself good and stay safe. 👍

I was worried too. For a moment I thought he was turning it into a cityified sissy. Without his van I thought he should take his sleeping bag up high into a tree and get secured into a big limb with his knife in his teeth in case a grizz came up after him.
?Almost worth losing your phone to view that AMAZING drone footage! Admire you so much for how you have taken the adversities in stride. Great video, as usual!
You are living my dream! I'm a climber who has been off the rock and just hiking a bit for the past 4 years...a knee injury then a stint living in flatland was to blame. But that's about to change! Watching your videos has helped get me through this down time. Thank you!
I replaced my transmission in my 2000 Sienna this year. I purchased it new 20 years ago ! Still have it but since I drive my son to university often (7 hour one way) I purchased a 2020 Sienna and kept the 2000 for lugging stuff in town...such a good vehicle.
Bro - you could be narrating the drying of paint and I’d still watch. I feel like it’s more than any one video at this point. I’m hooked on the saga. Not to mention, your worst video quality still turns out awesome. This channel is a true form living life goal in my books. Peace!

I didn't think your video was terrible, I like all your videos. I watch you on a 4K TV subscribed on the TV thought I was subscribed on my phone wasn't but i am now. I don't get out at all because I'm sick all the time for year's now, so when you upload a video you help me get out of my prison and go with you. Thanks for all you're videos David.
Glad you're back on the road again Bud that's awesome!!! When it comes to Foresty Forest there's NEVER a terrible video, trust me we love em all!!! Too bad there was no happy ending with your phone as that sure would have been cool if you had found it. And to my surprise we see the repairs on your van were done in Dink Town where I live LOL... Rarely do legend's pass through my town ;)
Your doing great. Remember: grace under pressure. Can you imagine the backlash if it had been the crock pot skidding down the glacier never to be seen again? They would have had to have the Snowbirds do a flyby and have an empty box lying in state in Ottawa. All the big box stores that sell slow cookers would have their flags at half mast. Best to not think about that. Your transmission was a tough break but you are leaning into it and doing great.
Foresty , you have to keep the van after getting that lengthy warranty on the tranny. Plus look at all the places it's taken you. I subscribed when you went to Inuvik and Tuk and said to myself , what's he doing , with a 2 wheel drive going up there. I lived in the Yukon in 75 , 76 , 77 for 2 years , and drove up the Dempster Hwy. caribou hunting. We could only go as far as the Eagle River as the army was just putting in a Bailey bridge there. The roads were quite different when you went , but still , you can run into a blizzard or whatever. I give you so much credit for the places you went in the Yukon and giving us the beautiful scenery. Also this video was great. Keep going Foresty from Winnipeg.
I enjoyed the views from the mountain top, the music with the drone footage, and that burger looks GREAT! I am a new subscriber, but have watched enough of your videos to admire your humble style and your brave hikes to mountain tops. I especially like how you fly the drones around the mountain tops, and show us what you see from there, places most of us will never see otherwise (or in person).
I appreciate your critical concern for the quality of your content! But I assure you I, and probably a good majority of your subscribers, watch your videos for you and your lifestyle as a whole. I love the hiking videos above all else, but I love to see your in town adventures and hiccups as well!

Just caught on to your videos. Have been watching them non-stop. I must say, one of the best channels I've come across in a long time! Excellent work my friend!!
in a year or two when you get ready to move on to a 4 wheel drive van with room for two, i bet you will be able to sell this one on ebay to some fan who'll pay twice what you've spent on buying, building and replacing the transmission, just because they are such big fans. peolpe pay crazy prices for memorabilia from famous people, LOL
Nope. He can easily sell it for what it is worth. He can never sell it for more than what it is worth. Fans are not that crazy to pay for a van they may not even need. Nope.

Wish you the best on the phone recovery. Guess we need to get you a phone tether for Christmas 🎄. And please consider getting two phones, one for us and one for your life. We worry that’s all... Thanks for a day trip with Forest, we even had dinner. You slay me with your gourmet burger, it’s the only way. Maybe we can make a hermit commune one day. 🤣😂
To me this was one of your better videos! Odd that you were apologetic about it. I watch the videos on my phone and I don’t notice any quality issues, sound was good and this video had it all: a story about your van, a hike, a drone, a story about finding your phone and a food story... all good. Stories are the currency of entertainment. Oh and I’m glad you kept your van.. no brainer to me.. it’s one of the things that makes you unique
Just as you said “this is going to be a terrible video” I was thinking what a gorgeous place to crash for the night. A bad day out there is better than any day in the factory!
Been watching for a while now, started when i was deployed and I liked the free spirited feel. It was refreshing and funny to see you in a hotel room. I like these types of videos you do too, they're more personable and makes me appreciate the content!
I hope the motel was free. You have boosted business there for a very long time ! Forest the Legend has checked in. No one makes an average size motel room look so humungous after seeing you in a van for so long :)
that corn looks delicious, that how we cook them in MX, they are so good, I want to thank you for showing us such beautiful places, I wish you great success and a happy new year.
Dude, no need to apologize for the video quality. For one, the quality is fine. Also, the 'reality' theme of your videos and journey is a big part of what makes your videos great! Losing your phone sucks but it is a part of it all.
Yes... Terrible video... Just climbed a mountain, flown a drone over crevasses taking in amazing views and cooked up a feast. 😁

Super weird
that was hilarious
Our boy getting soft on us .
Nah, he's been inside several abandoned shacks, some caves, and mineshafts. Also tents.
Having a mechanic offer to pay for a nights stay in a hotel is the most Canadian thing ever.
Seriously, that's one of the craziest things I've ever heard, coming from a U.S. perspective ...
Well for the price of a new transmission paying for a hotel night is keeping the business. There's a lot of labor hours on that job.
Quick tip: Soak the corn in the husk with a little water, then grill it, it will steam inside the husk, peel and eat
But won't have that nice smoky taste and crispness on the edges of the kernels.

A bad day out there is better than any day in the factory!
just watching this now and I agree, no apologies needed. It's life and crap happens, but your attitude is so positive is what counts!
UGH I can't get
"Foresty Forest
he lives in a hotel
Foresty Forest"
Out of my head now 😭😭😭😂😂😂
Been watching for a while now, started when i was deployed and I liked the free spirited feel.
You are far too critical of yourself, I totally enjoyed today’s video and doubt anyone noticed any substantial drop in quality.
Glad you are getting things sorted out and I'm glad you are showing all the parts of van life. It's not all summits and slow cooker meals. Lol
"A real wet fart of a surprise" Best line ever hahaha
Made me lol too!
So awesome 😄.
There's a MEME in that wet fart of a surprise just waiting to go viral.
Now you have BRAND NEW TRANSMISSION!!!!! And you get it first. I like your lil stealth van. I have been meditating you finding your phone.
I am here for the cooking portion of the video.
Dude, no need to apologize for the video quality. For one, the quality is fine. Also, the 'reality' theme of your videos and journey is a big part of what makes your videos great! Losing your phone sucks but it is a part of it all.
