    ‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the van
    Only FF was stirring, and making his plan;
    The fuel line was fixed under the floorboards with care,
    In hopes of avoiding a fuel spill down there;
    The Bigfoot were nestled all snug in their beds,
    Any notion of catching Foresty gone from their heads;
    With the crock pot on shotgun, the fat bike in parts,
    The baby wipes at ready in case of wet farts;
    Now, TRIPOD! now, CLIF BAR! now GARMIN and ICE AXE!
    On, ZOMBIE! on, BLACK ROCK! on DELPHINE, on IBEX!
    Drive Dempster, help Kira, visit Jill on the Isle,
    Clean litter, fix van, swat skitters with a smile;
    With a little young hiker, so lively and quick,
    That speck on the mountain, shot by his Mavic;
    More rapid than eagles his summits they came,
    And he sang, and he smiled, and wanted no fame;
    Then glissade on the way back to the camp,
    Rinse those beans, just like a champ;
    Crock pot has cooked you a meal so fine,
    You put us to shame with the way that you dine;
    The soccer mom van has taken you far,
    And now the Express Quigley is the new star;
    To FF, and fans who have been so inspired,
    Merry Happy, back to work before I get fired.

      and maybe something to shield that wood support for the heater from the exhaust, something as simple as stapling some aluminum foil to the wood or cutting and using heat shielding for spark plug wires.
      another note while I am here, mounting the fuel tank above the heater won't help the pump to get fuel but it WILL allow that whole 10L of fuel to leak into the van if the hose breaks on those rails or anywhere else along the line. stay safe and merry Christmas, enjoy the van!

    Amazing upgrade, can't wait to see what you do with it. A couple big safety recommendations for the diesel heater install:
    Since the combustion intake and exhaust pipe connections are on the inside of your van and bypasses the big oval silicone gasket, I highly recommend sealing the exhaust pipe side with high temperature/exhaust gasket RTV silicone. The hose clamp alone won't create an airtight seal and some exhaust gases will leak into the interior.
    The other thing is that the black rubber fuel line hose sections provided with these are notoriously bad. Mine started cracking after a year, and there are videos showing them basically crumbling to dust. In particular, if the section next to the combustion intake/exhaust starts to leak and diesel gets on the hot exhaust, it could start a fire inside your van. I suggest buying some name-brand fuel-rated hose from an auto parts store. It should be 1/8" inner diameter to fit over the plastic lines. Gates brand part# 27000 is one option in the states, not sure what you have. It's not the most common size, if it's hard to find I can send you some as I ended up with a lot extra.

      Laminate flooring is luxury? I had no idea...
      Now talking seriously, I see luxury as something expensive, rare and/or not essential. The floor *needs* to be treated in order to preserve it. Given that he needs it to be done quickly, I think a laminate flooring is not a bad choice over heavy duty paint (needs time to dry) or carpet (not very practical in the everyday living).

    I'm concerned about the plastic fuel lines running through the sharp metal holes you made, please find some slightly larger tubing so you can just put a sleeve over the line where it runs through those holes. Better to do it now while you still can! :)

    You mentioned upgrading your electrical system by going to a higher capacity alternator. Look into the fact that your new van may have an AC Delco AD244 alternator. It is a fairly robust unit. Switching out my 105 amp Delco and stuffing in a Delco AD244 with 145 amp output really worked for my travel van. Very much a big improvement for sure. Cost is reasonable and it is readily available. Add the big three wiring and you will be good to go. Look into this improvement as there are a few videos on this and the results are what you want. You may not want to bother blowing money on an aftermarket built alternator when you read up on the AD244. It is a real workhorse. Your wiring may be adequate as is. Add a battery separator to charge your utility bank of batteries and you are good to go.
