Wow! What a surprise checking your newest video! Thanks for the shout out. Ligaya and I truly appreciate it. Truly needed this video and will definitely try this with Ligaya!
Dont free fly ligaya if dont want to. That "friend" of yours from free flight international who said that ligaya is plucking and needs to be free flight is an user, he just wants their group to be featured in your vlogs. He is just fishy as shoot. Im not in any group and i haven't been i any group even though i use to free fly my cockatiel bird. But if i were to choose any group to be with ill choose majestic wings. Just saying. Good luck to you and ligaya, lovelots!
Enjoyed watching this post and your vlogs. Greatly appreciate your time including Mikey Bustos and The Lovely Ligaya (Mikey Bustos Vlogs) on this vlog. Mikey Bustos was super joyful and honored 😊. All of #MabuhaySquad is excited that you shared this kindness and thoughtful sentiments 💝. Thank you kindly for what you and your family do for Smokey. Respectfully, Grace (U.S.A. - Louisiana)🍃🍎🏡🍎🍃
Thank you so much for your videos I have an African gray named Mabel I can truthfully say that anything that I know about raising her the last 19 years (Mabel being 19) I’ve probably learn from you. Keep up the good work and your videos are always encouraging Mable is a great bird thanks too you.
its really satisfying when we get to see how intelligent our birds are and how confident they get...my indian ringneck is 10months old and he can also drop like that onto me...its amazing...and the funny thing is i ddnt even teach him🙈
My conure does vertical drops and I never trained him to it. He'll hang upside down and then drop. I think parakeet types are just more acrobatic fliers than the larger birds.
I love my African Grey. ThNk you for the uploads my baby is 6 months old now and be talking her tail off. She be saying hello goodbye good morning etc....
I guess my budgies (I just adopted a 4th rescue budgie) are VERY confident: up, down, left, right, and a few aerial somersaults in between. It is truly amazing to watch. As far as treats go, there is only one that motivates them: millet spray! (But completely excluded from their regular diet and used only for training.)
Budgies are incredibly acrobatic! They can perform some of the most magnificent maneuvers of any bird. Sadly, many are clipped in captivity. I'm glad yours get to experience flight.
Hi, I'm one of Mikey's subscribers. I always watched his vlog and he mentioned you in his vlog and he was so excited. wow his comment is just below here.
I love your videos! My grey is about 11 years old (he came with my husband :) ) and I am trying to figure out how to make him happy. Smokey looks really happy!
Congratulations! I'm SO glad you came up in my suggested videos. I have subscribed too so many channels I'm losing track. Time to thin them out. So nice to see you and Smokey again. I rang the bell so I can keep up. Nice work. Are you planning to let Smokey fly outside?
No, I explained why in one of my videos. But in short, not every bird is a good candidate for free flight outside. Smokey is one of those birds that would not make a good candidate for free flight. Doing so would be irresponsible of me.
Thanks for the reply, Jonathan. It's been a while since I've seen your channel, as you can tell, but I will watch more. I miss having a bird so it's nice to watch you and Smokes. I just subscribe to too much crap. I'll have to thin them out. I''ll go back and watch for the video you are referring too.
wingsNpaws Cool. Hence the outdoor aviary. Nice and warm most of the time. Hey another question, is Smokey free flight? As in you take him to parks and let him fly around?
I switched to Roudybush last month for my sun conure. Is this what you use? I love how full and healthy looking Smokey is. PS. I've been watching you before Mikey Bustos. I value your parrot advice more than any other parrot RUclipsr.
Hey man and Smokey...love your video's. I am getting my African grey next Friday....she is finaly ready to go home with me. I was waiting for her to eat on her own. I was looking for a bird and had a choice over numbers of species. But at the end I chose fore an african grey. It was een simple click that we have. Really impressed with your videos and advice. Thank you for providing this great service for interacting with birds to the public!!! I have a Congo Grey male that was extremely abused by some teenage boys. After 5 years he is still scared of hands. Just last year he decided it was OK to take a treat (cashews favourite) out of hands. Any tips on how to desensitise my Birdie of human hands? He will sit on arm or human leg if out of room with my other (2) birds. But he will not sit with me when the girls (Grey & Meyers) are present. He is afraid of the girls getting too close to him. However, he misses them and contact calls if I move him into another room.
Move very VERY slow. The fact that you've made that much progress with him is HUGE. So, continue doing what you're doing. But just remember to read his body language. If he shows signs that he's nervous, just take a few steps back and move slower. Every chance you get, make seeing your hand an extremely pleasant and reinforcing experience.
Thank you for your advice! He's such a sweet birdie. I know I can't push my attention on him, but finding a balance between scaring him and exposing him to new things has been difficult. I only want what is best for him. Thanks for referral to Mikey.
I NEED HELP!!! I don't know if one of your videos mentioned this or not but How does one train/ introduce their parrot to eat wet and soft foods? My 5 month old greencheek amazon was eating a seed diet from where I got her. She only eats seeds now and whenever I try to feed her fruits or veggies, she rejects them. It's as if she doesn't like getting her beak wet. Does anyone have any tips or experiences? Websites??
How to I train a cockatoo that’s afraid of females doesn’t want to come out of her cage cause she’s fearful is flighted not aggressive. When I try to train her she’ll fly away Idk how to handle her if she’ll fly away and I’m afraid she could hurt herself but id like to keep her flighted if possible
Hello I have a African grey named sonny hes about 10 years old. It was my boyfriends bird but the bird doesn't get any attention anymore since my boyfriend works I stay home and i have pretty much fell in love with the bird I am able to get him out of his cage and sometimes get into my hand but hes super nervous. Any suggestions he also let's me pet his head but only for a second then he gets unsure. I've pretty much taken over the bird now lol. I let him out of his cage every day and so on. Also any tips to help him stop feather plucking it's pretty bad
I remember about over a year ago, you talked flying downwards/descent in a different flight training video, and I thought that was so eye-opening. I didn't really think about any aspect of flying being "scary" for a bird, but after that video I thought twice about it, and it made me double check and think 'Okay, is this scary from the animals perspective?' I intend to get a parrot one day, but as I still don't have room for it, I'm still waiting. I look forward to putting all this knowledge I learned to use.
Make sure you have the patience lol. The loud noises at random times can get frustrating. Especially when they make it so you can't hear the TV lol. They are good pets, though.
No problem here! I'm prepared for the noise, needyness, messiness, and etc. It's actually why I'm waiting before I get a bird; I need my own place so I don't have to worry about the noise bothering any roommates.
how have i finished 6 videos w/o knowing your name? I like your videos, i tried looking at your profile but don't see your name. even tried instagram and saw wingsNpaws. should i just call you mr. wing 😉 mr. paws, smokey's owner. (lol)ill dig a little deeper or watch other videos.

Smokey and Ligaya are both adorable♥️

Thank you! I don't think you'll have to wait very long, she's a smart bird with a dedicated owner so I have a feeling she'll learn fast!
@@wingsNpaws yes, she's starting to mimic sounds and mostly with high pitch. Mikey's vlogs are a bit late so I guess Ligaya's doing it now, maybe;)

I never thought about this...but very true. If your bird flys up into a tree they need to feel comfortable flying back down.
