This is one of the best tutorials I've seen for the serve, I've been at it for ten years and still my serve sucks, by far the most difficult shot to master. Thanks.

the resistance on the tube helps a lot in developing the service motion 👌

I hope you get something out of this. I think there are some good tips sprinkled throughout. Consider buying the Serve Coordination Chain video guide. You'll get a free video analysis with the purchase, and bonus content each month: tpatennis.teachable.com/p/serve-coordination-chain

    Hi Tom,
Maybe a nice idea beside of the balltupe...
If you put a ball in the throught of the racket it is also a lot heavier.
You can also let players hit tennisballs with a bal in the throught of the racket:)
    All the best,
    Paul

    (1) I can shadow swing it correctly and achieve a racquet drop.
But when I toss the ball, I open up the racquet face and lose the racquet drop.
    (2) I will try hitting with the edge.
If I can hit it with the edge that means I am almost certainly dropping it correctly and swinging up correctly.

Hi Tom, the problem is that I have excelent racquet drop when I do shadow serves, but when I start real serves with ball toss everything mess up and there is much poor racquet drop as you showed in video.

Tom, is this another reason for recreational players to play with the heaviest racquet they can control???

I don’t like heavy rackets but as a training tool they work great.

ah - this is prob easier to visualize than "lead with the edge" because everyone knows what a karate chop looks and feels like
