@@drewthompson5036 Sorry to be a (double) pedant mate but two things: 1)- The name and the person are inextricably linked. & 2)- He didn't spell the name wrong, he spelt it wrongly (it's an adverb). 😉😊
Ritchie is reported to have said about himself “I drink too much” - he’s turning 78 this month , has produced a hugely impressive amount of work and is still performing - I’m not enthused by Blackmore’s Night’s style of music but that’s another matter - and can tell good jokes about himself (and others !) - I lift my pint of lager to you, Mr. Blackmore !!!!
That man is so amazing. He has played that solo a 1000 times every time he plays it live he plays it different. No one on Earth can do that ? Sometimes the solo is 5 minutes sometimes it's 20 minutes 1 thing is for sure it is always awesome.
He does basic british humor with a straight face. The most deadly of kind cant tell if hes drunk or just really drunk. All I know is he keeps me playing guitar forever. King Ritchie!
It`s the people who took his word and didn`t get that they`ve been trolled who call him Weird & awkward. This whole Blackmore vs Gillan thing was just all showmanship. In real life they love each other like an old married couple lol.
Ritchie has a reputation of being arrogant but I love his sense of humor Very funny. Maybe he should have been in sitcoms. I live about a few hours from him. He’s never invited me over though. My cousin lives near him maybe she was invited, I don’t know. I doubt it though. She never said she had crumpets with Ritchie.
What & Ego maniac And because of him being the First Great heavy metal Arrogant lead 🎸 (Not Yngwie) You have to Love His Genius! He's exactly how Beethoven, Bach or Mozart would have acted like! Here's Too 🥂 Ritchie Blackmore! #1 He was before all the rest! 🎸
I saw Blackmores Night in Chicago almost 20 years ago. I remember at the beginning of the show Ritchie was pouring beer and passing out glasses to the audience. But at the end of the show he just waved a few times and walked off the stage. Candace stayed on the stage signing autographs until she was literally dragged off by one of the crew. I was hoping Ritchie would pop out again but he didnt.
I saw Rainbow in '97, basically at the tail end of the band he'd just reformed. Saw them twice in 2 weeks, 1st time in Milwaukee, 2nd time in Palo Alto....anyways, both shows, he was doing the same thing.....jacking down the brew & handing them out to audience members up front. He must've downed 8-9 beers at the Milwaukee show, you'd never know it though.Totally on fire playing wise, some of the best playing I've seen & heard. Amazing night, & was a treat to witness him up close in a small theater/club setting.
Why talk about death when you produce your version of the Snowman playing your guitar with your very own unique style. I like one or two of your recordings made with your wife and the fact that some of your folk songs we all used to sing at primary school. Childhood memories, the best.
Deadpan HILARITY….lol …My all time favourite Ritchie funny deadpan comedy moment was when he said FRANK SINATRA asked him - ‘who are you’? …& Ritchie just nonchalantly said - ‘that’s when I decided to take up the MEDIEVAL approach ,,,because FRANK WASN’T AROUND THEN’…..lolol😂😂😂

@@TheNight-Rider Thank you kindly for that, I have never seen it. It is sad to see Ian Gillan can no longer do the screams but I suspect it was those that led to his voice being damaged. Still great on the song parts. Not a bad solo from Ritchie but I would rather hear the original played on In Rock. That is not to say some of his improvised solos such as on Made in Japan are in a class of their own. I also missed the “cacophony” ending. I always felt Deep Purple’s experimentation with “dissonance” set them apart and it is a fantastic ending to Child in time. Thank you again
If you don't understand Richie's Humor then you don't understand Richie. One of the greatest guitarists ever Long live Richie
And if you don't understand how to spell Ritchie correctly...
@@eddhardy1054 to be fair its an easy name to spell wrong. Its not the name to remember but the person 🤘

Well said 👏 💪🫡
He is so funny and serious the same time, amazing.
Rock stars make the best comedians.
Love Ritchies clothing, their vintage from the 60’s, the 1460’s
I googled 'ritchie blackmore's grateful dead t shirt'. The shirt says "If the Grateful Dead can make it anyone can". Could not agree more.
These Spinal Tap outtakes are great
The trolling was fine, but that solo from Child in Time was better.
Yea he and therefore the rest of band were feeling it
Super intense huh.....& that was near the end of his time in DP
Ian Paice a real beast
He's one of the funniest people on earth. The ultimate troll. And he's been doing it at least since the 60's - just to get a rise out of people. :)
now i see that was pretty much a myth , created by media that he's permanently moody king of the darkness

No doubt.A lifelong dream is to just knock a few back with him, could you imagine.....!?!
It's called sarcasm peeps. And he does it like no other. The true Blackadder lol.
Love the humor this era of British musicians have.
I'm convinced that him and Rowan Atkinson are the same person
Blackadder 😂
This message goes out Deep Purple bring back Ritchie Blackmore stop fighting and stirring
When Ritchie puts out his life story, it will be someone else's, and no one will ever know.
I’ve been a RB fan for years and also a guitar player for about the same number of years. He sees thru people. It’s a gift and a curse.
I love how serious he stays while spewing some of the most ridiculous shit ever just to banter 😂😂😂😂 love his humor
His deadpan humor cracks me up. 🤣
Richie is hilarious, pity that many people lack the intelligence to understand his sense of humour.

That tee shirt on Ritchie was hilarious.
...and True !
I screenshot that picture, because it was just perfect.
That solo!
One of the best. No one to replace him when he’s gone. He can be mental at times. That’s his nature. He definitely has his place on the pantheon!!!
I'd love to hear Lemmy, Ritchie and Rick Wakeman joking together. But I would never want to hear them jamming together.
GOTTA LOVE HIS BLACK HUMOR
I had no idea he was so funny!
Сплошное удовольствие смотреть как играет и кайфует Великий! 👍💜

You cut the bit when he says he expects musicians to pull their trousers down for him, sometimes.

There's another good one out there where he's got the interviewer verbally nodding along as he describes how he visits IG in the insane asylum.

The Grateful Dead are truly one of the greatest bands of all time, but that thumbnail cracked me up. Keep being you, Ritchie. Keep being you.
Man I didn't know John Cleese took over for Christopher Guest as Nigel Tufnel in the new Spinal Tap movie
I'm not sure even his wife gets its all of the time
She does by now, they joke well together. She was pretty young in most of these lol

what deep purple song is that solo from for some reason I can't place it. never mind its child in time.
Yoko Ono split up deep purple. Love it.

It's from the "Come Hell or High Water" DVD. 1993 live show.

You either get Brit humor or you don’t
How do they take him serious.
His wig stand must be getting a good work out
would have liked to have seen deep purple mark 3 make a couple more albums in the 80's or 90's instead of slowly becoming the deep gillan band....
I've heard better stories in my works canteen.
I heard those stories. You blew all of the guys in the locker room LMAO
