When Yui told Suboshi in episode 35 that she’s going back to her world, Suboshi asked her “what about the pristess of suzako?” and from this line it’s clear that what he meant was “are you just gonna leave her behind?, he didn’t really hate her because he knew that she was Yui’s best friend and he was concerned about her He’s hatered for Tamahome started before that but it’s mainly because he heard that Tamahome had rejected her and and she got hurt He began hating Miaka after Yui told him that Miaka was the reason why she got raped When he discovers that he’s brother was alive, he was indifferent to the rest of the suzako’s but he’s hatered for Tamahome and Miaka still remained and the more he loved Yui, the more his haterd for Miaka and Tamahome increased And he was the one who granted his brother the happiness that he always wanted and not the other way around Suboshi basically worships both Amiboshi and Yui, Amiboshi is like a hero in his eyes and Yui is a goddess I’m not ignoring his faults though or saying he’s blameless but I’m just trying to say that this destructive and extreme characteristic in him didn’t just come out of no where In fact, he can be very compassionate He showed so much empathy for Yui when she got raped and he was the only one who felt sad for Ashitare and was angry with Nakago because he didn’t care about his death and because he treated Ashitare very badly

❤️After having watched/read this story Nth times, lots of questions are clearly answered. Here's for the above question: Miaka being magnet: it's just author's self indulgence; it's actually made farily justified in the story if read carefully. They all fell for her thru time with her. If it's author illusion, she'd be created pretty & attractive(author made clear that she isn't in either world, much worse than yui), every1 would've loved her at 1st sight, like many other foolish stories. However, many of them dislike her to start with, such as nuriko, tasuki, & even tamahome. Nuriko even hates her. It's their time spending together that gradually changed them. Of course, her priestee's status helps fundamentally, as it works as the magical 'chemical' in relationships. In conclusion, Because : *⭐She is the only woman most of them really spending long time close with, and it's extremely adventurous time. Best opportunity to develop special relationship. *⭐Their boring, lonely or sad life dramatically changed because of her; suzaku bestowed saintly duty making them feeling so powerful, capable & distinctive. *⭐she is willing to die for any of them, loving them, caring about them, forgiving them for whatsoever. * ⭐their inborn spiritual connection with the priestee; it's like parents naturally wanting to love/protect/fight for beloved children. They could sense her in danger and calling them from afar, like acute radar, then instinctively rush to fight for her. * ⭐many of them actually hold more of a deeply brotherly love for her; hence nuriko, amiboshi never even try to challenge tamahome for that. Author also admits amiboshi doesn't love miaka. Just like best loving brothers, they only want her to be happy & safe. Of course because there's no blood relationship limit, they'd be willing to take her if no1 else couldn't make her happy. That's why in ova Tasuki, after demon's spell on him, decided to take over miaka from taka/tama when seeing him as a useless man only saddening miaka making her cry/worry all the time. * ⭐Hotohori is somehow different, but he loves miaka even b4 meeting her. This explains it a lot. He did like her from 1st sight but it's because he had known it's suzaku priestee. Miaka's kind personality, for example handling nuriko's bitchy bully, had really touched his heart. However, he still puts her happiness above his own desire. In the whole story he can be seen shipping(matching up) miaka & tama often, even in the essential chances which he could have taken advantage of. He later also promptly married another woman and became a dad. Then he deeply loves her & son. Before he dies, he feels blessed to be suzaku warrior which changed his lonely boring life, making it exciting & colourful. He still loves miaka, but it feels a saviour & soul mate feeling. ❤️Deeply thru the story, It can be seen the author's kind wish and guidance to readers, that in the 4 gods' world, people love u based on ur heart, personality, how u cherish them. Instead of on how u look, if u r clever/powerful/capable. Many readers don't like miaka; yes u can call her useless/stupid, but she has the most golden heart that never betrays, always forgives, understands with all good intention, and promptly willing to sacrifice herself for others. That's more essential traits for being preistee, not looks/skills/power.

I hope that I'm not sounding stupid or anything but after observing Suboshi's character closely, I think that he may have a borderline personality disorder but I might be very wrong as I don't know much about it. he seems to have many traits associated with BPD, he's extremely attached to his brother almost on an incestuous level and is very reckless in his behavior and his reactions and emotions are so extreme, he acts based on his initial impulses and doesn't stop to think before he acts, he either hates or loves and there is no middle ground with him, he’s too clingy and he is very obsessed with amibsohi and Yui to a frightening level and he's extremely dependent on them, of course the issue of what he suffers from is not really the point here because it goes much farther than that, he seems to follow the ''an eye for an eye'' Code and he genuinely believes that the suzako are the evil guys which is why he doesn't seem to regret his actions, out of all the Seriyuu warriors, he seems to be the one who hates the Suzako the most even after he discovered that his brother wasn’t dead and he hates Miaka far more than Yui does, the funny thing is that if Yui hadn't told him that Miaka was the cause of all her suffering, he would not have tried to rape or kill her and he wouldn't have massacred Tamahome’s family either if Nakago didn't tell him that Tamahome murdered his brother, i don't think he would have hated the Suzako's at all, he's not really a dark villain because ultimately he does all these things for his brother and Yui, his motives are pure but his ways are evil and twisted, he doesn't care at about the other Seriyuu members, he actually hates Nakago and Tomo ( he murdered Tomo in a very cold way) either way, he's mentally unstable
weng marcs I agree with you, if there’s any character in this anime that I consider depressing, it’s Suboshi, he’s is a very compelling character and he has very serious and obvious flaws, Suboshi wasn’t lucky like his brother and he only knew half of the story, if Suboshi got a chance to interact with the Suzako’s like his brother, maybe he would have realized that they are not the bad guys, he was unstable, misguided, misinformed and very unlucky He is a tragic character I’m not trying to bash Nakago’s character but he plays the role of the typical villain, of course Nakago is also very complex and has a very interesting and tragic back story and I did feel sympathy for him because of his past but his character was very satisfying because while he did come of as a hateful/manipulative person, his back story was very convincing and made people pity and even like him Suboshi on the other hand wasn’t giving a back story like him and despite the fact that he is not evil , he ended up being the most hated Seriyuu member somehow because of the crimes that he committed and the writer was very cruel with him, Nakago was the main villain but he didn’t murder little children and a sick old man so people ended up liking him more than Suboshi
I think it's more the fact that, he knows it's real now...and if Miaka fails she will never get back to the real world. Which means, she will be stuck, and the brother and the friend might become kidnap suspects. Nobody will believe Yui and Miaka, just happened to be sucked into an alternate dimension.
The Seriyuu seven are a freaking mess... they all kill/hate each other. Nobody cares for the other. There’s no team work. They are all mentally disturbed. Amiboshi didn’t belong with them. Like he said he should of been born a Suzaku warrior.

I hope that I'm not sounding stupid or anything but after observing Suboshi's character closely,
I think that he may have a borderline personality disorder but I might be very wrong as I don't know much about it.
he seems to have many traits associated with BPD, he's extremely attached to his brother almost on an incestuous level and is very reckless in his behavior and his reactions and emotions are so extreme, he acts based on his initial impulses and doesn't stop to think before he acts, he either hates or loves and there is no middle ground with him, he’s too clingy and he is very obsessed with amibsohi and Yui to a frightening level and he's extremely dependent on them, of course the issue of what he suffers from is not really the point here because it goes much farther than that, he seems to follow the ''an eye for an eye'' Code and he genuinely believes that the suzako are the evil guys which is why he doesn't seem to regret his actions, out of all the Seriyuu warriors, he seems to be the one who hates the Suzako the most even after he discovered that his brother wasn’t dead and he hates Miaka far more than Yui does, the funny thing is that if Yui hadn't told him that Miaka was the cause of all her suffering, he would not have tried to rape or kill her and he wouldn't have massacred Tamahome’s family either if Nakago didn't tell him that Tamahome murdered his brother, i don't think he would have hated the Suzako's at all, he's not really a dark villain because ultimately he does all these things for his brother and Yui, his motives are pure but his ways are evil and twisted, he doesn't care at about the other Seriyuu members, he actually hates Nakago and Tomo ( he murdered Tomo in a very cold way) either way, he's mentally unstable

I agree with you, if there’s any character in this anime that I consider depressing, it’s Suboshi, he’s is a very compelling character and he has very serious and obvious flaws, Suboshi wasn’t lucky like his brother and he only knew half of the story, if Suboshi got a chance to interact with the Suzako’s like his brother, maybe he would have realized that they are not the bad guys, he was unstable, misguided, misinformed and very unlucky
He is a tragic character
I’m not trying to bash Nakago’s character but he plays the role of the typical villain, of course Nakago is also very complex and has a very interesting and tragic back story and I did feel sympathy for him because of his past but his character was very satisfying because while he did come of as a hateful/manipulative person, his back story was very convincing and made people pity and even like him
Suboshi on the other hand wasn’t giving a back story like him and despite the fact that he is not evil , he ended up being the most hated Seriyuu member somehow because of the crimes that he committed and the writer was very cruel with him, Nakago was the main villain but he didn’t murder little children and a sick old man so people ended up liking him more than Suboshi

I think it's more the fact that, he knows it's real now...and if Miaka fails she will never get back to the real world. Which means, she will be stuck, and the brother and the friend might become kidnap suspects. Nobody will believe Yui and Miaka, just happened to be sucked into an alternate dimension.
