Okay I know we've passed the sweet Tasuki episode but I still can't help noticing in every single episode what a great guy he is. The main reason I prefer him over Hotohori and Tomahome is because he loves Miaka so much but never forces his love on her. He is so content with just being there for her as a friend in the background, and protecting her when she needs it or just making her laugh when she's sad. Hotohori makes Miaka feel too guilty about not loving him, and Tomahome always gets so pushy whenever Miaka rejects him in any way. But Tasuki never tries to be more than a friend to Miaka even though it's clear that he has strong feelings for her.
Things were a lot different back in those ties. Teens were given MORE RESPONSIBILITIES back then and made them MORE MATURE THEN the teens of today. Plus marrying at a young was the norm.
for those who don't know or didnt read the manga, chichiri lost his eye when his ex girl fell into a river....he went to save her, but when reaching for her hand, a rogue tree branch washed to the sides of the river, piercing his eye. ur welcome ;)
I love this show so much, I have done for many years, but there's just one thing that really bothers me: at this point both Miaka and Yui believe Yui is no longer a virgin due to being "raped" upon arriving in the world of the book, but Taiitskun told Miaka that a Priestess must be pure to summon their respective Gods... so why didn't Miaka think "Hang on, Yui isn't a Virgin so how can she continue her mission to summon Seiryu?" And why didn't Tamahome figure it out either, after all, Miaka would tell him she has to be pure to summon Suzaku so how come he didn't put the dots together? As funny and as loveable Miaka and Tamahome are they're not very bright are they??? Aww bless :-)
Both priestesses didn't have to be virgins at first if they have all the 7 warriors & the Scrolls, but since Miaka burned the scroll, & Yui lost one of her warriors, they would have to gain the two Artifacts from Hokan & Saito.
I was just poking through comments and found this one - Chichiri doesn't get the credit he's due for the way he closes this episode and his revelation about his own loss and Yui's feelings about Miaka.... Chichiri is truly undersold as a companion in comparison to the others but the older I get... ... The more I appreciate him.

Only problem I have with this anime is who are the other two priestesses for the other two lands and why the story didn't include them since this is about the God's of Chinese Irvin seems like a HUGH freaking gap is missing from this.
They only appear when they are needed . Yui and Miaka came because Kutou and Konan were at war with each other , Kutou wanted to take over Konan. I don't think there's a gap in the story , it can be understood.
i cant be the only person to notice that Miaka is physically maturing as well as mentally. Like.. Her boobs r getting bigger as her hair gets longer and her face looks older
