The Doctor as rock star. On a tank. Playing the theme song. "Pretty Woman" for Clara. "All the Young...Dudes!" Some fun stuff for us old folks. Makes one wish Peter and Jenna could have hung around another season or two. Once they got rolling, it was good.
For Ten it was riding a horse through a mirror, for Eleven it was jumping out of Rory’s bachelor party cake and for Twelve it was this. This is still the best one though.
It's interesting that when this first aired everyone said it was 'cringe', yet now the moment seems to be looked back on fondly Personally, I've always thought it was iconic
Mad respect, as a fan, for another fan to become such a great doctor and learn how to play the theme on the guitar for this scene alone. Miss ya, Peter.-Sleepless in MO
I cannae stop watching this clip... This was my very first Doctor Who clip I've ever watched. Just seeing Peter Capaldi on that tank, shredding away with the guitar, just intrigued me and made me wanna watch the Twelfth Doctor's run. I can safely say, it was absolutely worth it. The Twelfth Doctor was very my first Doctor. This incarnation is very special to me, through this Doctor, I watched the entire runs of the Tenth Doctor and the Fourth Doctor. So Twelve, Ten and Four are my all time favourite Doctors; and it all started with Twelve and this awesome clip.
Capaldi is hands down my favorite Doctor. Don't get me wrong, his predecessors were all great in their own right, but Capaldi hit at something so core to the character that he takes the title.
Okay but what I like about this the most is how we don't know if it was the fact that Clara's back when he thought they parted ways for good or the fact that Missy is alive when he thought she was dead that made him so happy. Bur he was looking at both of them and called them his friends and started playing Pretty Woman them. He loves them equally, on different ways, but equally.

Now the real question is how did he get the tank into middle ages considering the tardis doesn't have wide enough doors Answer: He's The Doctor just accept it
The Ninth Doctor was cool because of his prior circumstances. The Tenth Doctor was cool because he really wanted to be cool. The Eleventh Doctor was not cool, but he thought he was. The Twelfth Doctor is cool, because he just straight-up is!
The Eleventh Doctor was cool. Because bowties are cool. And fezzes. Fezzes are cool. Beans, however, are bad. Bad bad beans. But Twelve is 100x cooler still
the doctor to Clara: "I will not forget one line of this" the doctor to Clara: "When do I not see you?" Also the doctor to Clara: "If I met her, I would absolutely know"...
That scene made me like Doctor Who again. The previous season had good moments but I wasn't sold on Capaldi's Doctor yet. This scene reintroduced him as a rock star, and I loved it.
They really need to keep Peter Capaldi on, there is NO RULE that says that the doctor has to regenerate every two seasons, that just happens if you do not have the right one, or if he asks for too much money. Keep Peter on, he is the best of the modern doctors.
What makes you think that the doctor has regenerated every 2 series? Chris:1 series David:3 series and a couple of specials Matt:3 series And many classic doctors have stayed on for years and years as well. I think it would be a waste if they didn't use Capaldi for atleast one more series

It's been 2 years since I've joined. I still love this fandom. You guys are just awesome
@@TakeMinamoto So that's who he bought it for!
This scene is when I accepted Capaldi as the Doctor
Rodimus Rider yeah, that sounds about right
Same here!
I accepted him on the kidney line.
I accepted him the moment we saw his eyebrows and then when he also flirted with a t-rex in his premiere.
He had me at "I've got new kidneys!"
In all of the fifty years of Dr. Who....this has to be the coolest moment.
52* this episode came out in 2015, the show turned 50 in 2013.
You propably havent seen the older doctor whos
I counter with Three Doctors leaving the Time War painting.
12th Doctor. In sunglasses. On a tank. In the middle of a medieval castle. Playing electric guitar.
This must be the single most metal thing I've ever seen.
You can say whatever you want about 12 and this episode, this is and always will be the coolest thing he's ever done.
Actually I thought he was pretty damned cool when he faced down the president of Gallifrey in Hell Bent. "Get off my planet."
Also "anyone for dodgem"
The 12th Doctor ROCKS!!!
*Literally!*
(*Slow clapping*) I bet you feel so proud.
13th
I really wished they kept the rock theme for series 9 or reused it as the “new” intro for series 10
"So, the BBC wants a tank?" asks the British colonel.
"What for?"
"Doctor Who sir." Replies the private.
"Send an entire squadron at once."
Good one DUDE
Tbf they went out of service in 1998
What you said:^^
What I understood: Mycroft watches Doctor Who
The Doctor replies with, "Point your rockets at me if it helps you relax."
@@EthanThomson the BBC, tanks or the British military
10th was the funniest, 11th was the sweetest, 12th is the coolest
never skip nine
Nine was the strongest
4th was the funniest IMO,
“Oh look! Rocks!”
The 2nd was the best of all time!
9 was the sassiest
You may be cool, but you'll never be Doctor playing the electric guitar on a tank cool
so true.
totally agree with you
+ashdude55 Well said.
a metal version of the doctor who theme song
The Doctor as rock star. On a tank. Playing the theme song. "Pretty Woman" for Clara. "All the Young...Dudes!" Some fun stuff for us old folks. Makes one wish Peter and Jenna could have hung around another season or two. Once they got rolling, it was good.

My heart. Just watched this gem yesterday cause I’m purposely watching slow. Imma skip 13 doctor and go and watch oldwho
so that's how a time lord having a middle age crisis? :P

Yup.

+Ran Sherman Oh you are hilarious!
+Dollynho seu amiguinho lol
Ran Sherman i feel like the mid life crisis Doctor was David Tennant...think about it.
this is honestly the best entrance doctor who has ever had.... ever....
It's the best entrance of ANYONE ever.
it is
It would've been better...IF...he did the opening to Welcome to the Jungle by Guns N' Roses
I don't know, jumping a horse through a mirror might be comparable... at least for me. Even if the rest of that ep is somewhat subpar for me.
For Ten it was riding a horse through a mirror, for Eleven it was jumping out of Rory’s bachelor party cake and for Twelve it was this. This is still the best one though.
1:49 In other words....
"I guess you guys aren't ready for that one yet....but your kids are gonna love it." 😎
Favorite part of the premiere of Series 9.
Same
+Rami Ungar Ditto!

It's interesting that when this first aired everyone said it was 'cringe', yet now the moment seems to be looked back on fondly
Personally, I've always thought it was iconic
I weep for the Whovians.
It's both. The cringeness overshadowed the magnificent acting (and entrance)
It hit it'd so bad it's good like it owes them money 😂
Mad respect, as a fan, for another fan to become such a great doctor and learn how to play the theme on the guitar for this scene alone. Miss ya, Peter.-Sleepless in MO
I love how shocked Clara looks when he starts playing 😂😂
I love the fact they just asked the army if they could borrow a tank, and the army just went "For Doctor Who? yeah, ok. No problem!"
That look on Clara's face. "Ha. I think we found him."
**Watches for the 5th time**
Me: Ohhhhhhhhhhhh! Fish + Tank. I see what you there, Doctor! :P
The online part I didn't get. I was thinking he meant "I (e)"bay" have ordered online!"
*Cringes* Ughhhhh...Doctor The Pun-Lord :P
***** Oh. my. god. I can't believe I didn't pick up on that
+Hakan Frik don't you mean the PUN-ISHER ?
I don't get that joke
"The slightest, tiniest..."
**
"... anachronisms"
And the tank. Don't forget the tank.
Ben Kana for his fish, he got it for his fish
What is the first guitar part is that a song part or something
@@vetellica van halens eruption
As a whovian and guitar player, I see this video on a spiritual level.
You are not alone.
And did you hear what he was playing?
THE DOCTOR WHO THEME!!!!!!!!!
This is the moment that made him the doctor for me.
For me it was when he showed up in the 50th anniversary.
***** I hope so, that story line is all set up for them so it is very likely to happen!
***** why this is the doctor?, A man who when faced with even his own demise he doesn't run from it, he faces it with a smile and making sure the ones closest to him have a happy life.
***** No i understood your problem with the scene, but this fits the character perfectly. I get that it may be cringe worthy for you, but to me this screams what makes the doctor, the doctor. Where you see cringe, I see an awesome sight! But I understand if it's not for you, everybody has their own tastes.
***** So apparently when someone doesn't share your opinion, it's time to insult them? No, that's not how you argue with respect, with respect.
Needs a full length release of this 'Pretty Woman' rendition.
Duncan MacFarlane Clara's smile is too cute there. It must be one of her favorite songs or he is seriously trying to get her attention.
Now the real question is how did he get the tank into middle ages considering the tardis doesn't have wide enough doors
Answer: He's The Doctor just accept it
Amen
What if he just chained it to the back
@@ashcomet8189 I don't think that would work considering what happened when captain Jack hung onto the outside of the TARDIS but I could be wrong
@@jamessilliker well you have to realize that this is a metal tank not flesh and bones
He prolly shrunk it and stuck it in his back pocket
Missy: I once made a gun from leaves
The Doctor: I won a sword fight with a daffodil
He also won a sword fight with a spoon--no joke.
The Ninth Doctor was cool because of his prior circumstances.
The Tenth Doctor was cool because he really wanted to be cool.
The Eleventh Doctor was not cool, but he thought he was.
The Twelfth Doctor is cool, because he just straight-up is!
The Eleventh Doctor was pretty cringe tbh
The Eleventh Doctor was cool. Because bowties are cool. And fezzes. Fezzes are cool. Beans, however, are bad. Bad bad beans.
But Twelve is 100x cooler still
Veegsredds Yes, but the "cool" was meant to be ironic because he thought he was cool when in fact he very much was not - which gave him his charm.
Samuel Irvin Well yeah. But he had his "actually cool" moments, such as
•His dark moments
•His dark moments
•His dark moments
Etc etc.
Veegsredds Oh, that is pretty true.
When you realise that the 55 year old doctor is cooler than his predecessor, who was 26.
At least get the ages right, Matt was 27 and Peter was 55 at the time of their casting.
@@ObviouslyKieran ok, sorry. didn’t mean to do that.
2:09 You know a joke is terrible when someone from the future and an alien have the same reaction as your medieval audience. 😂
"Oh, come onnnnn" He sounded so much like Billy Connolly when he said that. Gotta love the Scots.
There's only one word to describe THAT entrance.
DUDE!!!
Dude, 12 and Clara are everything I've ever wanted from Doctor Who
hi
Ikr. I were so sad when Matt left. But i absolutely love Peter Capaldi.
+Nicolai My thoughts on every regeneration.

Coolest Doctor Who entrance, ever.
1st: "You can't change history, not one line"
12th: 0:50
When you realise Capaldi is playing the 'Doctor Who' theme on guitar... o.O
That's not the Doctor Who theme, that's the sound of the 4th Wall shattering in millions of tiny pieces.

ax guy: you've been here for three weeks
doctor: 3 weeks? its must be nearly bedtime
XD
*great day
That scene made me like Doctor Who again. The previous season had good moments but I wasn't sold on Capaldi's Doctor yet. This scene reintroduced him as a rock star, and I loved it.
"You guys may not be ready for that yet. But your kids are gonna love it"
They really need to keep Peter Capaldi on, there is NO RULE that says
that the doctor has to regenerate every two seasons, that just happens
if you do not have the right one, or if he asks for too much money. Keep
Peter on, he is the best of the modern doctors.
What makes you think that the doctor has regenerated every 2 series?
Chris:1 series
David:3 series and a couple of specials
Matt:3 series
And many classic doctors have stayed on for years and years as well. I think it would be a waste if they didn't use Capaldi for atleast one more series
+JasonisnotaRobot 2 more plz just two more. It doesn't have to be one more time.
+JasonisnotaRobot Well Matt did Day of the Doctor and Time of the Doctor after his 3 series. So technically he did a couple of specials...
+kurtilein3 He needs to become the next Tom Baker
+kurtilein3 They change every 3 seasons not 2.
The Doctor playing Pretty Woman to Clara is my favorite thing
You may be cool, but you're not Peter Capaldi riding a tank, playing guitar, wearing sunglasses cool
Doctor: " What do you think of my tank?"
Warrior:" I don't like it"
Doctor:" I bought it for my fish"
Me: wha...?
Warrior: "your fish?"
Doctor: "I may have ordered ONLINE!"
[ Silence]
Me: [ points at screen and shakes head] Don't do it.
Doctor:" Oh, come on! FISH. TANK!"
Me: [ facepalms and sighs] sonofabitch.
Doctor: " Honestly, this stuff will be hilarious in a very few hundred years. Do please stick around!"
Me: [ to dad ] are you responsible for this?
Dad: Taught him everything he knows.
Me: [ lowers head in despair] ...We're doomed.

This will always be what I remember the Twelfth doctor for. Peter Capaldi nailed it!
1:11 : Clara's "I thought I'd live that guitar scene when the Doctor had Eleventh's face" face.
i never fully understood why twelve's rockstar vibe didn't work for some people. maybe they felt a clash between that and his grumpy professor aesthetic? as someone who's known multiple math teachers in rock bands, to me they go hand in hand. professors are the wildest breed of nerd
