One reason I love the show is how they always explain their mysteries, and in a way that is actually satisfying. Like what "silence will fall when the question is asked" means and why the Doctor's name is the most dangerous thing in the universe. Or the River Song/Amy Pond connection. Or Missy's wonderful reveal "Well I couldn't call myself the MASTER, could I?". Or the Pandorica. And even the small reveals, like the Face of Bo.
Christopher was best modern doctor, then David, then Matt ^_^ Its so sad that Christopher didn't get more screen time, I wouldve loved to see his chemistry with Donna
I find that Chris’s series was a lot more mature adult and scarier David Tennant brought a lighter - young - and let’s be honest he was handsome Matt Smith was too much for me yes I watched first series (5 ) and then 6 . I stopped there . Things just got too much - I feel like the writers producers may have got too cocky about its increasing popularity . I’ve been a fan since 8 I’m now 20 . I was hoping for the real-life Timey-Wimey. Real life actor Doctor Who #5 (Peter Davidson) had a daughter (Georgia) who played the Daughter of #10 (David Tennant). The actors got married in real life and their first child was a girl. So as the Meme says...The Doctor's Daughter, played the Doctor's Daughter who gave birth to the Doctor's Daughter.
It was awful... Donna got the worst ending among all NuWho companions. Rose got TenToo and even a version of her father back, Martha became a badass UNIT doctor/soldier, Mickey joined Martha, Jack continued to do his own thing at Torchwood, Amy&Rory happily grew old together, Clara and Bill became virtually immortal with the entire universe for them to roam freely. And poor Donna got... to forget everything and go back to the dull, unfulfilling life she so hated, thinking she was nobody special.
3:38 "David Tennant, the unquestioned master of staring sadly into the middle distance." *sad music plays* LMAO! I had to stop the video to laugh it out.
"But when the budget allows, he'll fly off to the far reaches of the CGI universe, where everything is still extremely British." (2:20) The British did the empire thing first. If there was a galactic empire it would be British, the USA recognises that. See Star Wars.
Hilarious! Thanks. Been watching most episodes since it started in November 1963. It was an instant success, so much in demand that the BBC did something unprecedented; repeated the full first episode in the second week, before showing episode 2, because of the flood of letters from people who had missed it. Home VCR's didn't exist back then, and there were only 2 TV channels in Britain. The wobbly sets and live performances were a big part of the humour and vitality of the show.
Quaint English villages? London?? I'm afraid the budget didn't even stretch to those fancy-pants locations. Most of nuWho was filmed in Wales (pretty much all of one episode about 400 yards from the house where I grew up), and Cardiff substituted for London. You've just been WELSHSPLAINED
And substituting Cardiff for London is not dissimilar to substituting Vancouver for New York. In that sense where it's glaringly obvious that Cardiff/Vancouver isn't London/New York.
@ TheGreatestTeamOfAll I know, I'm saying they were already breaking the time limit by a noticeable amount, and couldn't fit everything in there. They probably had to cut out over 20 minutes worth of great jokes when they were making this.
David Tennant was easily the best doctor all round, but Amy and Rory were the best companions, Christopher Eccleston laid the groundwork and did an amazing job at bring back the show and Peter Capaldi was the best mad Uncle.
"fleshy blobs stuffed into cramped metal homes who spend their entire life shouting commands at people they hate....sooo....internet commenters?" I hope I didn't wake my sister up laughing at that one XD
I think they should do a five doctors episode but with The ninth doctor The tenth doctor The eleventh doctor The twelfth doctor The thirteenth doctor 👍
I'd say Doctor Who was a huge break for John Barrowman. He was so popular on Doctor Who and Torchwood, that when he started acting on Arrow, a lot of people already knew who he was.
*ALL Doctor Who comic book crossovers I could think of* Karen Gillan: Guardians of the Galaxy Christopher Eccleston: Thor TDW David Tennant: Jessica Jones John Barrowman: Arrow Jenna Coleman: Captain America Alex Kingston: Arrow Arthur Darvill: Legends of Tomorrow Maisie Williams: The New Mutants Michelle Gomez: Gotham
You mistakenly put Roger Lloyd Pack in the "every other British actor" category instead of "every British actor Harry Potter edition." He was Barty Crouch Sr, father to David Tennant's Barty Crouch Jr which makes it even a bit worse lol
while I do enjoy midnight, I can't really give it credit for being that great bc it's not that original. it seems to be a modern retelling of the classic story 'edge of destruction'. mind u, i'm fine with new who reshaping ideas from classic who, but when it does that as closely as midnight seemed to do, I don't hold it any higher than other stories. ps - my favorite doctor from new who is smith. from classic who, it's a tie between troughton, pertwee and t baker. tho I find McCoy to be underrated.
*David Tennant is the best Doctor* . He beautifully portrayed the Doctor’s more “human” side, especially by falling in love with Rose...While still keeping that unique, weird, quirky, alien-like character. He was naturally charismatic and goofy and it was just impossible not to like him. And that fashion sense! A suit and a tie, and converse shoes. Amazing.
jamesk479 First of all, in the classic Doctor (the 8th) he said that he was half-human “on his mother’s side”. Also, In Tom Baker’s era, when he was on Gallifrey, it was implied that his father had married a human woman. So the theory of the Doctor being half-human, or at least having human DNA influence is plausible. There are some hints throughout the new series too. Regardless, it’s no deny that the 10th Doctor delivered real, amazing emotional performances that made us fell in love with him. Or are you gonna tell me you didn’t cry when he regenerated to the 11th? “I don’t want to go” .... simply outstanding. And he did love Rose, even if it was never confirmed. You sound mad that the Doctor can have feelings... jeez he’s not a cold hearted sociopath.
I respect your opinion. He was good, but I don’t think he was the best. RTD seemed to really want to make the Doctor seem full of himself. The 10th Doctor kept saying how clever he was and put down others for not being as smart as him. He would be my third favorite if not for these instances of arrogance. He’s still probably my 4th or 5th favorite but unfortunately he’s not in my top 3 anymore. David is still an exceptional actor, I just wasn’t a fan of how RTD had his personality at some points. I’m sorry if what I said was rude, if it was, that was not my intent. Have a great day!
Clark Strange i feel like ten’s arrogance was meant to be his fatal flaw - i mean, think about it; a lot of the shitty stuff that happens to him is a direct result of his hubris and self-righteousness. in fact, he basically inadvertently caused his own downfall in his first episode when he deposes harriet jones. RTD was deconstructing the idea that any one person could become a god. ten’s arc is so fascinating and heartbreaking, i find him so complex and well rounded, and david tennant plays him with such emotional depth, which is why he’s my fave. nine comes as a close second because i also love his arc (which is arguably more consistent and definitely more uplifting haha). eleven started strong but suffered bad writing post s5 which is what places nine and ten above him imo. but that’s just my opinion - I find characters with palpable flaws that are addressed by the narrative and emotional arcs more compelling.
cat I understand that and I respect that. Matt is personally my favorite. Followed by Capaldi. I think they both had good personalities. I still love Tennant’s Doctor but my liking for him has decreased a bit. Still, he is around my 3rd or 4th favorite. Peace!

Oh yeah. I agree. It's a trademark moment of the show.
I was also hoping that moment would turn up when he mentioned Christmas!

It was funny that the Daleks weren’t number one but number 2
I’m not going to hit the like button because it’s at 255 and that’s a good number but I love your comment 😂😂😂
Ryan Spees the doctor’s real greatest villain is mortages. You’d have to get a mor-gaaaaaaage.
Most of the ones you described are pretty terribly resolved, most of Moffat's over-arching plots are so messy imo.
They should have ended the trailer with the head guy revealing what the question that must not be asked is instead of doing it second last
Let's hope no new viewers are scrolling though the comments eh

"We laugh because it's funny, we laugh because it's true."
I mean, if different monsters tried to attack me every Christmas, I’d swear vengeance too.
Since most of these tropes are acknowledged and joked about in the show, this reads more like a love letter then a roast.
true :P
Well, it IS a trailer, a trailer should promote the show, not roast it ;)
well, honest trailers are most of the time more roast and promotion at the same time!
I have a special place in my heart for Christopher. He was cold and calculated and honest.
The best doc.
Christopher was best modern doctor, then David, then Matt ^_^ Its so sad that Christopher didn't get more screen time, I wouldve loved to see his chemistry with Donna
I find that Chris’s series was a lot more mature adult and scarier
David Tennant brought a lighter - young - and let’s be honest he was handsome
Matt Smith was too much for me yes I watched first series (5 ) and then 6 .
I stopped there .
Things just got too much - I feel like the writers producers may have got too cocky about its increasing popularity .
I’ve been a fan since 8 I’m now 20 .
Trust me doc who was never always popular - if you know or same as me you may know .
Once upon a time it was equated with us losers
Now losers are cool

I was hoping for the real-life Timey-Wimey. Real life actor Doctor Who #5 (Peter Davidson) had a daughter (Georgia) who played the Daughter of #10 (David Tennant). The actors got married in real life and their first child was a girl. So as the Meme says...The Doctor's Daughter, played the Doctor's Daughter who gave birth to the Doctor's Daughter.
And she was born on Christmas, making her a daughter of the Doctor’s greatest villain!!!! Lol
And the doctor’s daughter’s mother and doctor’s daughter’s grandmother was Trillian from the Hitchhiker’s Guide tv show.

I cared so little for her that I couldn't sympatize. I did like her old man thou. Dude was jolly as hell
Oranges and Salt I agree with you. Not even giving her winning lottery numbers helps all that much. Fucking Moffat.

Hilarious!
I can't stop laughing at the Rory/Kenny from South Park comparison.

I'm not surprised. I read some years ago that the TV people shot an English period drama in Eastern Europe. Because it was cheaper than UK location.

He's arguably too human.
Peace!
Eccleston and Tenant are tied for me. Loved all the reboots though as they are so British, goofy and fun.
Eccleston is my favourite
I’d say Smith and Tenant are pretty much a tie for me.
