I haven't mentioned an important thing in the video. Gel Canister is only available in the Steam version of the game. It could be substituted for Galleon Mortar with Turret Surprise secret skill, and another weapon of your choice, preferably with decent knockback. I didn't test it, however, so I'm not sure how difficult it is to get the achievement this way.
i cannot thank you enough. Ive almost managed to do it without turrets and kept failing/losing my multiplier. been attempting to get this final achievement for a while, so thanks for the easy strategy
2022 and this strat is still the key to not wasting time with yet another full playthrough after NG+. I will add that there's a cost/benefit to leveling up some of your gear by completing levels. For example, I was level 5 when I attempted this so I had much stronger build options for bulk clearing the squirts and could easily crit the large mobs before they hit turrets.
Good point! I just went with a bare minimum loadout here, but equipping yourself with different weapons and more spirits, makes it easier to earn the achievement :)

Clearly this strategy can work, but you REALLY need RNG on your side. I have tried probably 20 times, and it is very likely that a giant hammer dude will just spawn on top of your turrets and wreck everything in about 2 seconds. One time I got to around 40x combo, but at this point it seems like just playing the whole game will take less time.

Great video! Additionally you can run werewhisky and pike to kill things really quick
