and transistor right next to it :D we've seen some really great soundtrack this last 8 years. ori and the blind forest and fez are also good examples of great soundtrack
A note on the ending choice, it's somewhat heavily implied that the New Game Plus mode is _actually_ a follow-up to the "Restoration" ending. Particularly through certain parts of original narration specific to the NG+
Michael Little May i suggest Dan Bull's rendition of Bastion? he used the soundtrack in his Bastion rap and ever since then I fell in love with Bastion and have been patiently waiting for the PS Vita version.
A small detail I love about Bastion is the weapon loadout lines. When you exit the arsenal with a new equipment loadout the narrator will make a short comment on it, this doesn’t have to be 2 new weapons, simply changing one weapon will give a new quote Ex. Duel pistols + pike and duel pistols with machete have different quotes. They all have some sense of uniqueness to them and I love it before I leave The Bastion to go to the next level I always go change my loadout just to hear the quote, then I change it back. Same with spirits, although they don’t have combo quotes each one has a unique line when you first equip them. Just small details that add so much to the experience with so little, it’s why I love the bastion, the unique death quotes for each area, how each survivor has their own quotes for the mementos, I love it.
Uh, spoiler alert! That moment where the Ura stop attacking you as you carry a hurt Zulf to safety was seriously one of the most amazing moments in a game I can think of, it certainly brought a tear to my eye! Bastion is one of my all time favorite games, I'm glad to see it covered with such detail and love! Thanks Jirard!
I’ve always heard about this game, I used to listen to the soundtrack. I just bought it on switch a few days ago and finally started playing it... my goodness I’ve been missing out. It’s gorgeous and so fun! If you enjoy indie games please go find it and play it!
Finished this game for the first time today. It is a tieless masterpiece. The art direction, gameplay and story still holds. Such a cool game. Supergiant crushed it.
This game is a perfect example of computer games as an art form. The narration, music, art style, and mechanics synthesis together to make a truly compelling experience. One of my absolute favourites!
I remember watching my dad playing this game on the Xbox 360 and just being full on intrigued as to what the game was and how it looked. And now I've just played it over and over again 😂
Definitely one of the best Indie games out there. The music alone is enough to give it an A rating, but it goes over the top with its story, game-play, graphics, and general level of fun. Thanks for bringing back the nostalgia, Jirard and TOVG, and keep up the great videos!
ProJirard the Finishist Terraria is "Good". Hah. That shit's like syringe full of heroine. "Nah, it'll be fine. It's only going to consume your entire existence for the next 600 hours". Whereas Minecraft is more akin to smoking a bowl. Yeah, it'll be fun for a while, but you're just gonna sit there, space out, and be blown away by how your hands look.
Bastion. This game had such an odd feel to it when played. The whole story line was a sad one in general with many parts that had upbeat tines to it. Bastion had an amazing soundtrack with a great narrator and was an amazing game all around.
Best game soundtrack ever next to Boneworks. I could listen to either soundtrack over and over. I also really love the Borderlands 3 soundtrack strangely enough.
This is one of my favorite games ever. You have no idea how long I have been waiting for this. Jirard, you will probably never see this, but if you do, then thank you so much for this review and I'm glad you liked the game! Also, your beard is fantastic.
i just want to say that this game is my all time favorite Xbox live arcade game! i played this and fell in love with the game and have since beaten it several times and even bought the soundtrack to it! it was so good in fact that when i learned transistor was made by the same people i didn't even look at the screenshots or videos of it and just immediately bought it and the soundtrack and i didn't regret a thing! this company right here is hands down one of the best video game companies I've ever ever ever had the pleasure to play a game made by them! both bastion and transistor have amazing game play, soundtracks, story, visuals, and everything else about them! there is nothing bad about these two games and if i had to recommend a game for anyone i would always recommend these two first!
Bjørn Edvard Holmberg i got then like a few weeks ago (like 7 i think) and i loved them, i hope they put out the over suikoden games for PSN as well :3
Bjørn Edvard Holmberg I was just thinking that Jirard's thoughts on the Suikoden games would be worth it. Jirard, if you ever see this: When you name the hero in Suikoden 1, either go all small letters or start his name with a M. Trust me on this if you plan on completing Suikoden 2.
Your a beast bro. Mad prop for your hustle to get your art out weekly like u do. You saved me a whole lot of time and frustration with plenty of games. Thanks for the entertaining vids.
Gonna be honest, the way Jirard described the game as a game you sorta forget about at first kinda fits how I got it. Sorta just got a hold of it during the Summer of Arcade on Xbox, and 3 weeks later, I noticed I forgot about a game I had played but nevr really... played. About a little less than a week after that, it was honestly the first game I ever really completed, which is something I can honestly say I'm proud of.
This game, well this game is one of my most favorite games, I beat it in one sitting, there are points in this game that I was just shaking with chills, the music is so haunting and amazing, it fits the mood so well.
Is it weird that when I saw that "uhhh its got tan lines?" clip I instantly recognized it from a Cinnamon Toast Crunch commercial, from the super early 2000's or maybe even '98/'99??! PS - Anything ever happen with that Arizona Iced Tea thing? I know that may be a silly question, but sometimes those things really get a response from a company! If people actually did what he said, that is.
Poki#3 Pistols and Spear. I think during the last bit I was running around with the hammer instead of the spear. I got very good at spitting out very single bullet of the pistols in a second. D:
you could always come to Australia and pick one up, we have things like villager, robin, ike, marth, lucina, ness, and wii fit trainer sitting on the shelves

That was actually the first Completionist episode I've seen in a while (due to lack of time, not because of You-Know-What) and I guess I've got some catching up to do. Nice work! You could've mentioned the soundtrack a bit more, but I guess everyone who saw the video noticed how amazing it is. Fun fact: My first copy of this game was pirated. I didn't have enough money to buy the game, and was in a super suuuper low point of my life. Bastion helped me get through some dark times, and even though I was constantly fighting the crack software and the weirdness that resulted, I kept playing and loved the hell out of the game anyway.
Bastion is my absolute favorite game of all time. The story, the world, the atmosphere, the presentation, the soundtrack... it's absolutely incredible. I'm one of very few people, along with Jirard, who have gotten every single Steam achievement in this game. I want to see an episode on Minecraft that just has Jirard foaming out of the mouth.
What about terraria.
Ryan Doogey I'm pretty sure they fixed it, but in 1.7 and 1.8 it was impossible to get all the achievements, as you could not discover all biomes.

What was your go-to weapon combination? I used the pike and riffle.
Poki#3 I was about that Hammer and Repeater with the Repeater Burst special. But i too am curious of what he used
Poki#3 I used the Machete and Carbine. Good for every situation.
Poki#3 Pistols and Spear. I think during the last bit I was running around with the hammer instead of the spear.
I got very good at spitting out very single bullet of the pistols in a second. D:
Poki#3 Machete and Pistols. And a LOOOOOOOOT of Dodge-rolls
Poki#3 Sword and pistols. Changed over time to the spear and carbine, and beat the Stranger's Dream with the Rifle and Mortar.
Good timing with the video, Jirard. This game just went on sale on PSN, a while ago. Can't wait to play it!
Your Taunting Me With Your Marth And Robin Amiibo :-(
Dr. WaVeS IKR It's annoying because he does it in almost every video now :/
Exactly like we know u have it and we don't so stop rubbing it in 😭

I have inkling squid, little mac, and paulutena(don't know how to spell that) come at me bro
Us aussies have it awesome I found a pit yesterday. I also have all the fire emblem amiibos. The only thing I haven't seen is a villager
I've had this game on Steam for ages now, and I've only played a little bit of it. This video makes me want to delve more into it. Thanks, Jirard! :)

My god, I love this game. super hyped to see it Completionisted.
(Completionistationated?)
Exactly, specifically by the Completionist. So would it be Completionistompleted?
Absinthe Crystalline Jirarded?
I don't get it

Fialinhow The Lost
Spyro The Dragon I did it.. so no reason he could not do so!
I know but the Lost is still a pain and he should probably do it after the dlc comes out
Spyro The Dragon You are correct, BUT the lost itself is more like a grind, grind 9 lives, get devil deals and win!
Emerald Jirachi he's already done it, including the lost
My favorite gaming channel on the Internet

YEAAAAAH THANKS JIRARD (guy who wanted bastion on this show since the first episodes)
Hats off to you Jirard for the Cinnamon Toast Crunch commercial! Best cereal ever
I'm surprised he didn't talk about the music of the game. Easily one of, if not THE best soundtrack I've ever heard.
Also there are a couple bonus voice lines if you do new game plus that make the new game plus fit in with the story

One simple game you could do is "Thomas Was Alone." It is a cheap puzzle game that I had fun with and the story was great!
I like how you mostly used Spike in the Rail and the Terminal March. as background music. They're definitely the two best level tracks in the game.

Ok got to say, nice selection of music for each section. Especially for the Spoilers warning. These small details are nice!
