- Removed my 6 Geophagus from the 450G because they were out competing the Discus Fish for food causing them not to grow at the proper pace.
Hopefully, now I'll see some nice growth! 😁💪

Hilarious ! You should have grown them in a 120 so you could water change as often as they need for growth, THEN moved them into the 450.
Too late now, start over, or buy full grown adults if you can't do the required water changes to grow them healthy, this batch is officially stunted .

Growth inhibiting toxins in the water has nothing to do with food its your other discus releasing it in the water
It's crazy how something so mundane, we hardly thing about, can impact any system and be resolved with a quick simple fix. I can tell you who isn't having a food issue... Those Aros... Beast. Awesome job man. 💪🏿

I always thought it may be hard getting some of the discus to eat in the 450.
I like my discus in something like a 125 with maybe only corydoras tank mates so i can make sure everyone is eating. the 450 would look amazing with some nice xl discus that you don’t have to worry about growing out!

Yo Kevin I’ve been doing a fish in cycle with clown fish seachem prime and stability I never saw nitrites or ammmonia at all day 6 I’m seeing a lot of nitrates is that normal not to see the ammonia or nitrites at all did it happen that fast ?
You could get nitrates in 6 days, that is possible...but not possible to not have seen ammonia or nitrite. Maybe the test was giving false readings?
Hey im haveing big problems with my fx6 getting sand in it i have a sponge in my srainer and even put in a way smaller wave maker i have africans and its a 4 ft tank 90 gollons and tips
Raise the intake off the bottom of the tank. Set it about half way. You may still get some sand in there from your cichlids spitting it out. if its still sucking in tons of sand, your sand of choice may be too fine and its floating in the water column.
