Nate Parker You really shouldn't call other people kids when you're still in high school, buddy. Don't be late for your class or else you'll get detention. You wouldn't want that, would you? :)
The thing about this fossil that freaks me out is how the Protoceratops’ beak is literally crushing that Velociraptor’s arm! Like probably crushing it to mush (especially when you learn that animals like/related to Velociraptor have very delicate and hollow bones)!
I like how they ended it with the reality of the actual fossil. But why must the fight have ended so fast?!?!?! I wanted to see a winner! Screw you, Avalanche!!!
Pesky they would have probably both died anyway considering that the protoceratops might have bleed to death and the velociraptors arms was trapped in its beak
despite the the featherless velociraptor and the splayed legs of the protoceratops wich is inaccurate that battle did happen. the fossil of these two dinosaurs locked in combat was dubbed the fighting dinosaurs and was found in 1971 in the gobi desert in mongolia.
Ok, the animation is pretty good, but it has some major flaws: 1) At the very least the Velociraptor should have feathers on the arms, since those are definitely confirmed. 2) A Velociraptor would have easily caught on to that Protoceratops, there would have been to long chase. 3) A raptor would have used his big claws for holding on much sooner 4) It would have encircled the Protoceratops and bit it from time to time 5) Protoceratops were not that nimble.
5) We don't really know that, Protos could of had some agility to them but that proto should of been caught by the veloci WAY sooner, but hell this is a better depiction of dinosaurs than say....dinosaur revolution actually scratch what i said about the raptor catching that proto sooner, that seemed pretty quick
Why do they have Protoceratops' legs splayed to the side like a modern reptile? All dinosaurs had their legs below their bodies. Whether they were quadraped or bipedal.
Apart from that featherless Velociraptor, another inaccuracy is that Protoceratops has splayed legs; come on people, do some research before making these documentaries!
Roasted Marshmellow this documentary was made in 2010 (video being uploaded here in 2013) so the representation of Velociraptor being feathered had been well known for some time The analysis of quill knobs on Velociraptor in 2007 provided the first concrete evidence that it was feathered, that’s at least 3 years of time, long enough for this documentary to have been aware of the fact. scienceblogs.com/grrlscientist/2007/09/24/quill-knobs-reveal-that-veloci/ so the date really has nothing to do with it being featherless, it’s just simply inaccurate. As well saying it’s “just a documentary” doesn’t excuse it, in fact it just discredits it further. The point of a documentary is to educate and with that said, there should be a heavy focus on trying to present information both verbally and visually in the most accurate manner. That’s like making a documentary about ancient Egypt and then just completely ignoring any facts and representing Egyptians as intergalactic space travelers.
I saw a different iteration of this where the raptor was part of a pack, attacked a heard of Protoceratops, a heavy storm came, a flash flood initiated and these two trapped in the mud. I think that one was on Walking With Dinosaurs.
This video was made about 6 years ago so stop complaint about their velociraptor being featherless. More knowledge about dinosaurs was acquired since then!
CalIfornia4life we had pretty concrete proof that Velociraptor had feathers at least 3 years before the creation of this documentary. Not to mention that we also had proof that relatives like Sinornithosaurus had feathers for even longer. The Protoceratops has weird sprawled legs like a lizard for some reason too, when it should have a pretty upright stance. Really they have no excuse to not fix this other than being lazy or being afraid to experiment. God forbid that Velociraptor was actually a real animal, it must be depicted like the Hollywood monster it’s been made to be for years now. It’s not like they were real animals or anything, right?
***** It is proven, that Velociraptor had feathers because they are too related to some like the Micro raptor that the time period would be too short, that feathers could just have popped up or dissapeared
So what happening of Velociraptor, Protoceratops? Velociraptor's claws shape-like knives they stabbing the Protoceratops's stomachs. Protoceratops's have powerfully jaws they crushing the Velociraptor's hands.
Death Slayer_34 Sorry friend, they all did. Raptors where a group that split from the ancestors of birds, and the evidence is overwhelming. All well preserved raptors found have presented complex feather impressions, identical to modern birds. No species of dromaeosaurids was naked until proven otherwise
Agustina Ferrero this documentary was made in 2010 (video being uploaded here in 2013) so the representation of Velociraptor being feathered had been well known for some time The analysis of quill knobs on Velociraptor in 2007 provided the first concrete evidence that it was feathered, that’s at least 3 years of time, long enough for this documentary to have been aware of the fact. scienceblogs.com/grrlscientist/2007/09/24/quill-knobs-reveal-that-veloci/ so the date really has nothing to do with it being featherless, it’s just simply inaccurate.
It is so amazing that fossils like this are out there, two dinosaurs, bound together for 65 million years... It's mind-blowing if you think about it

+Thiago Osorio Emmerich yes I know it is inaccurate but the graphics are good
Its interesting to note the flexibility of the models, a lot of eastern CGI does that... kinda cool but a bit unrealistic
Needs feathers
Considering the time and country in which it was created, it is very realistic.
The Animation is amazing!

Protoceratops was like the size of a goat, why couldn't it be nimble?
Isaiah Phillip The body shape would ot have allowed for such fast and nimble movements.
I'm just happy that this is the real velociraptor and not the Hollywood jurassic park series version.
Braeden Ferguson Oh you think so? Raptors were fully covered in feathers FULLY
+Esteban Cota yes they were... he just isn't a pro like us....
Dareghost but this velociraptor isnt acurate real velociraptor is featherd...oh and this is the jp raptor

I dunno, why is the Velociraptor a nudist? Obviously no one did any research.

yes, this one is just a nudist
Ya velociraptor and all maniraptors were feathered
except the claw cant cut that way...its incorrect.
Colin Mathura-Jeffree and the claw was on the protoceratops' throat, not on its side..
Now they think the Velociraptor didn't actually look like this, but was really much more birdlike. Cool fossil nevertheless
