Thanks bud you are the only one that knew how to open that connector which slides up into the side on my 2002 Chevy trailblazer it’s not on the top it’s actually on the purge valve itself but the connectors are the same you’re the man. 👍🏻
I was able to access from the top of motor by I am tall and have long arms. Thanks for your video its all the information I needed to complete this job.
Clamping small fuel and hose connections perfectly on-the-cheap. ClampTite makes a very nice wire clamping tool. It sure is pretty! But, I'll take cheap over pretty any day. One can make their own clone of the tool using a turnbuckle. RUclips up on how to use the wire clamping tool. There's the two-wrap clamp and the single-wrap clamp way of setting up a wire clamp. I use the two-wrap version for air hose fittings, radiator hoses, and such. The single-wrap clamp comes in useful for the small fuel line stuff like for rebuilding the sending unit inside the gas tank with a new fuel pump. Below is the video of the homemade version of the tool. I improved mine by using a section of all-thread to make the pulling mechanism longer. I just welded a large nut to the end for the twisting handle. This allows for much tighter wire clamp. If you've worked with safety wire before, doing wire clamps should be child's play. If not, it will take some practice to get the resulting wire clamps to function well and look good. Keep at it, I rarely use worm-screw clamps anymore. One piece of advice, dress, dress, dress, the wire with needle nose pliers as the wire is tightened. ruclips.net/video/5w1_9IkeRmQ/видео.html
Went through the driver fender well. There's a 10 mil bolt holding the bracket that holds the solenoid take the 10 mil out spin the solenoid take the hose connector of towards the rear tire first then bend the solenoid towards you. With a small flat head you should be able to pop the tap for the hose connector towards the front of the car
Those were made from various parts in the doorman help isle. They make GM type connectors with straight pipe on it and you either put in boiling water and form or you can get just the connector and use doorman flex hose like I did. I had to go back and forth between two auto parts stores to gather all the needed bits and parts to fabricate what was needed. Sorry, it's an old video, in retrospect I should have listed or pictured all the parts I used.
Yes, those types of parts are not really something you can buy. I made these from Dorman brand items. They sell the connector ends at the auto store, some of the connectors will have lengths of hose already connected and some will just be the connector and you attach hose to it. You submerge the plastic in boiling water to soften and form them to the shape you need. They work pretty good.
Hmmm...how are the lines and hoses? Have you checked out the eletricals? I am afraid I no longer have this vehicle as it proved to be a money pit POS...everytime I would fix some issue then something else would break.

gotta take the driver's tire off to get to the purge valve and even then it's still not easy to take off due to the connector. my question is how do you know if it's the purge valve or vent valve that's defective?
When you put gas in the tank it would not start unless you cranked it for about a min. What was going on is that when you put gas in the tank, with the valve stuck open it would flood the intake with gas vapor.
Hey buddy you happened to mention in this video about getting a code for the #6 ignition coil. I have the same problem with both of these codes coming up. Did you figure out if that coil was related to the purge code. Just asking because I’m getting ready to replace that coil so just making sure that is the actual problem or the connector. Thanks
Vincent do you happen to remember the part number or where did you buy it, I'm having the same problem with mine. Also thank you very much this video was very helpful

Thanks for posting the connector removal. Major help.
Glad it helped
Thanks for the vedio. Good information concerning the connectors
Glad you liked it

Your comment helped me immensely, thank you.
Nice. Dealing with this now.
Thank you so much for this video. Could not figure out how to get the connections off.
Do you have a part number for the hose from the purge valve solenoid to the intake? Appreciate it

Looking for the solenoid location? For me 2003 trailblazer it was lower right side of the motor if your looking from the front of the viechle.
Just climed over the driver side fender and retch down. Took ten mins.
where did you find the line that connects to the solenoid, its mission impossible for me

I replaced this part and still have the same code p0440.
What else could it be?

might have been better if you showed where they are located
What were the symptoms for the purge valve?

My trailblazer starts then shuts off like 3 seconds later. But only in cold weather. Any ideas where to start looking?
@@MrZepher722 did you clean the throttle body valve?
I changed the purge solenoid and now my engine is shaky & loss power. Now it shows code p0300 , before it didn’t.

Just unbolt it it’s a 10 mm bolted to the engine not that hard.
