That fan clutch causes a lot of REP codes! I fully agree with using an OEM clutch, or you'll be doing the job again within a year. Another easy way to diagnose it is to disconnect the fan clutch connector, and drive the vehicle for a while, making sure to keep a close eye on the temperature gauge! If the REP code does not come back, you've most likely found the problem. I've used your longer bolt trick when doing the fan clutch on my '04 TB with the 4.2 engine, and it works quite well!
160K on my Trailblazer. On water pump #3 but clutch is still working. That fan assy is a pain the butt to mess with. I like your special wrench for the big nut. I just used a chisel bit on my air hammer
Grsat stuff! I'll put it on my Playlist for my 2003 chevy trailblazer with 195k miles. I just had the water pump replaced on it. I really appreciate your time doing these helpful videos! Subscribed 👍👍👍
Great video thanks for sharing. Great to see you, Tim. Good luck with the snow. We are getting a lot of rain & cold weather still here. I think it will pass soon. Stay well & safe always.
@@ThecardoctorTV Thank you we could sure use it, lol. Maybe it will kill germs that are in the air. I always heard the first snowfall kills germs in the air, lol. I don't know how true that is. I hope you are doing well my friend. It is good to see you gain. Stay well & safe always.
Great video. You are the Trailblazer/Envoy guru. I wish I knew the 2 bolt trick when I replaced my fan clutch last year (I did the "cut" hack). Can you please give more detail on the spanner and air gun you used to undo the big nut (I had so much trouble with that nut) Thanks for another great tutorial.
Hey car doctor, God Bless you. So i have a question. Is the fan supposed to spin freely by hand when the car is off? Because I don’t have any of those codes and car runs fine but I noticed the fan spins stiffer by hand on my trailblazer also 4.2 engine
Man I can't figure out the problem with my 2003 gmc envoy, I have a misfire on cylinder 2 and I've even changed the injector, and ignition coils and spark plugs, can you give me another idea of what I could check
I have 2005 trail blazer problem with ac fan blowing speed ,I replaced at the, ac fan blower, control 3 times and work on all 5 speeds for 2 or 5 weeks and the problem, come back again, can you have some suggestions, please 🙏 thanks
I know this isn't about your video but we're about to purchase a 04 GMC envoy cars in great shape runs and drives fine however for some reason and I am not an expert on the 4.2 at all but it sounds like a diesel motor to me is that normal it's got a rattle like a 12 valve Cummins kind of not to that extreme but same kind of noise but when you give it throttle it smoothes right out and their engine runs smooth any tips or suggestions
I do have 2003 olds mobil bravada i did replace throttle body new duralast my problem when the enginge start warming my Idle speed go 600 the my oil gage give me warning when i accelerate like 800 RPM goes to normal oil pressure switch was replace and i did flush the oil put new oil some reason my Idle goes low to 600RPM but ist not dying giving me warning please help thank you
I have a 2002 Trailblazer that's been very reliable, but when I started it up the other night, the dashboard lights all came on. The gas gage went to 0, the battery light, brake light, security light all lit up. The truck stay on and I got home with the dashboard light alternating between normal and everything lit up. A day later, it still start right up. So the mechanic doesn't fleece me, how easy a fix is this, please?
Straight to the point no B.S . explained clearly , great thanks

The snow surely looks crazy for May time frame. Here in the mid west, it is been cold until the past 2 days. Great video!
Hope we get some nice weather soon! But no heat waves!!
Sending you some blue skies and hot weather from The Bahamas 🇧🇸 🌅⛱️🌝

Yes its a really neat tool for various size fans. You can find them fairly cheap also.

Could it also be you need engine valve lifters?
Valve lifters can fail.
@@ThecardoctorTV Thanks
I used to have it out on less than 10 minutes
Wow. Impressive.
It helps to work in a gm shop
My problem is my 05 Trailblazer has/gets no oil pressure when it's warmed up!

My 2007 chevy trailblazer is jumping rpm around 45/50 mph im woundering if you might help me and tell me whats going on she throws no codes
mines doing the same thing around 60mph it's probably a transmission issue

Check the fuse first
Hvac module
I don’t need the weather report just get to the information
@@jeffdortch1546 TrailBlazer weather is partly cloudy with good chance of catastrophic engine failure.
It was a long winter dam global warming lol.
😅
So a fan clutch can cause low power?
Yes.
