You see those faces he makes? Those are the faces of those who know they have the time into the craft or skill that they have put their long hours into. Those of you who know what i'm talking about. Pure focus, pure mindset.
No notes, doesn’t look at 🎹. He really feels that! That’s real soul 💯
Feels
the musician feels reflecting in his face it's myth
look at any segovia live performance
I've never heard a guy that looks like a bank manager sound so cool!.
hahah nice one!
😂😂😂 That made me laugh
😂😂😂😂😂
He does😂
You made me laugh
When he stopped playing it looked like he woke up out of a dream. Love Bill Evans
Its a flow state of creativity. Many musicians experience this, and thats one of the most beautiful thing about being an artist. That flow state, its transcendental.
This was magical. From beginning to end. Listened about ten times before I wrote this comment.
Didn’t you realise immediately?
Goose bumps every time I hear this, and that's a lot of goose bumps! Bill is always so emotionally part of his playing.
Phenomenal music skills right here.
Haven't seen this video. Bill is, along with Trane, the most influential musician of the past half century. Every note, every voicing has a purpose. The left hand is as prominent as the right. The man was built to play a piano, powerful shoulders and thick fingers. He died still topping himself, inventing an "anticipatory rhythm" that has never been copied. (it nearly gave Konitz a heart attack.)
I agree, but Charlie Parker should definitely be on that list as well
That's just your point of view and nothing else. Bird, Dizzy, Miles, Monk, Coltrane and Wes were the most influential musicians of the past half century...
@@joe-cn8nn Indeed!!
@SELMER1947 and that's just your point of view, nothing else.
@@SELMER1947 There is hardly any jazz pianist(and some classical and Brazilian as well) who isn't affected by Bill Evans whether they choose to imitate him or ignore him.
Great and unique, Bill, unforgettable!
Funny comment, but true. You might be surprised to know this bank manager looking musical genius was a hard core junkie til his death (like many jazz men of the day). I just read "The Big Love" which was basically a diary written by Evans' young lover up to the time of his death. The man was no doubt a genius.
I wish it were not true. I had the immense pleasure of being next to him while he played. The sweetest person. I wanted to think he was pure and without crutch of drugs. His passion was strong. He was tender and shy. The most pure individualist. Another genius who gave all he felt.
He was pure which might be why the drugs. How blessed you were able to sit beside him while he played 💜
It is brilliant
The coolest nerd on the planet!
A musical gem. Thanks for posting this.
Bill Evans, Niels Orsted Pedersen , Alan Dawson !!! Beautiful Love !!! Thanks!!
transparent & flowingly catchy great stuff.
Extraordinaire : la facilité de jeu , le swing,l'inventivité et derrière tout cela la technique comme moyen.......
Cool:
1. adjective: like Bill Evans
2. noun: Bill Evans' piano playing
lost for words....
This is treasure!
Great stuff.
Grande Bill! Grandeee!
Parece que o piano é um alongamento dos seus dedos... Fantástico!!!
Bill Evans and NHOP on the great standard Beautiful Love. I can't ask for more! By the way the drummer is doing a great job
the drummer.. is Alan Dawson... who was the teacher of tony williams...
@@TheZoRLT thanks for the info bro
@@TheZoRLT Alan was a legend in Boston, but not well known outside of the city. I was surprised to see him playing in Berlin, as he didn't travel often.
@@ricardomcvitie328 Lucky for us.. so much grace in that 4/4
Wonderful
What a sea change for Nils-Orsted (from Oscar) and for Dawson (from Brubeck). Bill plays with a more minimalist yet rhythmically "more forward" pulse, phrasing melodies "ahead" of the chords. Bass and drums must either hold while he lunges forward or, as with his last trio, follow him all the way. Not easy.
People i would like to know Bill Evans 😢❤
He was the giant on piano, so cool
This was sampled in Funky DL's track Jazzphonics, also great!
That left hand! Damn!
うつむいて黙々と弾く姿がカッコいい
still love his work!!
thats because pop music has trained people to listen with their eyes....unfortunately. But luckily we have Jazz and other Roots musics.
Legend !
нет слов !
great
my (almost) most favorite part: the move of his left hand to start the "jam" ~ ;o)
Thx for the sound!
Thank you so much for posting this.
Great, great, great stuff
SALUDOS DESDE TLAXCALA
evans is great
Perdersen is the one and only!
IMO Bill at his best, his phrases had space and were more interesting than later years.
How cool is Bill Evans! OMG! Caaaan playyy!!
Night and day.
Wow. Great.
OMG!
Alan Dawson's playing is unreal here. Its a shame that most young jazz drummers only know names like Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa. Although those guys were gods I think Alan Dawson is way better.
Very underrated drummer indeed. I studied his solos while in school and they were crazy good
I believe it's Alan Dawson on drums.

Bill evans piano had so much pain
It's very demanding to play this song at such a high tempo
Check out Dave Brubeck.
Alan Dawson always sounded right, whenever he played and with whoever. Like Billy Higgins.
Après Lui le déluge...
2:49〜 I find this drummer person some kind of "workerism". For example, if he cooks and cuts steaks, fries pasta in a frying-pan, operates heavy equipment at the construction site, or handles fish in sushi-bar, he does them in the same way and wouldn't make any difference. Do you understand what I mean?
Yeeeeaaaaaaahhhh
sexcellent
미친ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ다ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
What happened to his teeth? I know Chet Baker lost most of his teeth cos he was mugged by some thugs in San Francisco but Bill?
when u use your right and left brain so hecticly its typical to get muscle spasms, happens to almost every musician
Dave Mansur why? You use two different sides of the brain while playing?
A genius .... but that posture is terrible fir the spine.
Avec
did his teeth hurt?
bill 歯がねぇーじゃん;;
not bad
政治のアドバが最低。音楽聴く前にあいつらの声など聞きたくない!
Boring
Too complex for you
@@jeharli white boy swang. Bebop is much more complex. Why does dis guy incessantly bash his left hand?🫲
