Lineup:
Bill Evans (Piano), Lee Konitz (Alto Sax), Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen (Bass), Alan Dawson (Drums).
Alan Dawson, criminally underrated...
Alan Dawson was my drum teacher's teacher. A great drummer.
I still marvel at Evans playing. And Lee so UN-Charlie Parker
That open by Bill at
Alan Dawson!!- the professor of jazz drums! One of the most elegant drummers of all time! . Unbelievable skill with the brush on the skins!
The best version of Evans playing Beautiful Love.
bill evans is always welcome to my recommendation page
Your channel is essential greatness. Thank you.
Precisamos da arte para sobreviver. E isto é tão verdade. Bill Evans sound, so beautiful. Amazing ❤❤
Fantastic love these clips great job
Bill was a stange dude. He doesn't seem to enjoying himself at all, just going through the motions. Still he plays brillantly, particularly the intro to HOW DEEP IS THE OCEAN. Towards the end of his life, he git serious about playing again. His last albums are superb.
still love his drumming!!
Thanks for this great footage
Lee Konitz? Thank you!
🙏thank you ebjazz
With NHØP, the Dane and Alan Dawson, the Brit playing seamlessly with Lee and the brilliant Bill Evans in this wonderful live concert. This is exquisite jazz from the past folks that will never age. Toodeloo’s & Cheers!
good mv, thnx
IMO NHOP was closest to LaFaro out of all the bassists Bill Evans worked with. NHOP didn't quite have the facility of LaFaro but took some good risks. Would have been fascinating to see them as a working trio for a while and develop the rapport.
Konitz calls Alan Dawson's name before the first screen and introduces "A New Boy" to Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen, but unfortunately it's cut off.
👍👍👍👍🙂
