I think I've pinned down why I like this version so much; it sounds like the singer is actively worshipping the king, rather than a bunch of kids singing a creepy lullaby. Like this is the kinda thing the mysterious advisor sings while reviving his boss.
Sounds like the advisor and his goons are a bunch of zealots for their god-king. Meanwhile, the heroes (who are about to be sacrificed) are in the middle of planning out a Plan B while the zealots are busying themselves singing for their decaying king.

What I like about this version is that it's more akin to the one that the cataurs sang as a warning about what Horse and the rest of the herd will encounter should they continue their journey. But this version is more rough and coarse and is more out of tune which makes it quite unique.
