- Kvasir is a character from a TV show called stargate SG-1. he is part of an alien race known as the asgard who help the human race deal with other alien threats by giving them technologies and helping them with certain tasks. but because they are so smart they get cocky sometimes and we get very funny moments like these from them.
Sorry i havent uploaded in a while i took a short break, but im back making videos now!! As always if you have any suggestions on any videos you want me to make about any syfy show then feel free to suggest some in the comments and ill consider making them!!

Like the way the writers wrote the Asgard.The impression i get from the way Elder Species are written in general is - Elder Species are more literal and mathamatical in their way of thinking.
This way of thinking is called left-brain thinking. It's a similar representation of masculine energy. Control, logic, power. Right-brain dominant species will not be as technologically advanced as left brain dominant species so it would be a rarer ocassion to see them flying ships. They would focus on spiritual development with no need to leave their planet but will be more vulnerable to outside interference/invasion.
@@tetefather agreed. I wonder what Alterans would be towards the end of their physical existence. They were the most advanced race, and yet heavily spiritual... although I'm not sure if you could call ascension spiritual, more scientific 🤔

funnily enough, they shared a voice actor.
They taught us that the Asgard are much sassier and not as patient as Thor made them seem it to be. I get now why he was supreme commander, super diplomatic. The other Asgard would have been like, "shut up, get out of my face, let me do why work naive children"
@@Ooilei In the early Thor episode, Thor appears much more arrogant. I've recently watched the one where he takes Carter to Othala to get help against the Replicators and he is borderline insulting in that episode.
@@danielk5780 I mean, he was just overstressed at that moment. Replicators were literally just above his head, Carter wasn't understanding anything and eventually came up with a very stupid idea. Must have been a bit much even for brave Thor.
He wasn't really mean though, just a bit weary and distraught.

He's an Asgard, not an Asgardian. Yes, in Norse mythology and in Marvel/MCU, Asgard is the place, Asgardians are the people, but Stargate made it that Asgard is the name of the race.

Am I crazy or does this Asguard share the same voice actor as 343 Guilty Spark from Halo? It feels like more than just the voice modulator. Its his diction too.

Kvasir was voiced by Peter Deluise (who directed a LOT of episodes). Thor was voiced by Michael Shanks. So when he said "I miss Thor", it was sort of an inside joke.

"The dimension occupied by ascended beings". That is interesting and the first time i heard it after watching this a gazillion times. I thought the ascended surely existed in our dimension but as something else. Now its said they are in another dimension?
Anyone else other than me scratching their heads? We know little to nothing what this other land or whatever is that ascended beings exist in.
A dimension is a spatial axis, so presumably an Ascended being simply uses 3+Time+however many dimensions.

i would like to point out that kvasir is supposed to be incredibly literal with his use of language...but still uses the word decimate wrong just like the majority of human beings
He didn't use it wrong, because the original definition has expanded to include general reduction/destruction (up to a point).
The OG Roman version of decimate meant to kill 10% of a group of soldiers as a form of punishment. The way people are using it now is closer to it's actual meaning, decimate != annihilate.

It’s from multiple different episodes but most of the clips are from ‘ripple effect’ ‘flesh and blood’ and ‘Camelot’ from the later seasons of SG1 hoped this helped!
