The Asgard are an interesting case. Due to them just cloning themselves and transferring their consciousness into the new body, they remain at their positions in their society forever. Thor was Supreme Commander of the Asgard fleet and that position probably didn't open up for thousands of years. So Hermiod was a scientist, doing research and dealing with the same kind of problem for milennia. So of course he's developing a no nonsense attitude.

Any scientist worth his or her salt realizes they know very little outside of their specific area of specialization.

Haha I absolutely love the internal monologues you add, randomly stumbling across Stargate content again on RUclips just brings back so much nostalgia 😌 (even though SG1's first few seasons were even before I was born). Thank you so much for bringing back so many fond memories of watching this show during the long summer breaks from school, this being Australia with nothing else to do as well...
On a side note though, it always felt strange to me how the showrunners decided in Unending to kill all Asgardians (if thats the word?), it always felt so unnecessary. Their primary enemy (replicators) wiped out, Ori (being checked and also fighting on a limited force across three galaxies) and Goa'uld all gone. The idea of irreparable damage being done to their people due to genetic cloning also didn't feel imminent, it always makes one wonder what they would've done in their original SG1 season 11 storyline if they were greenlit for another season. But alas, the Asgard beam sure came in handy later on in SG:A's run, albeit discarded again in SG:U.

it always confused me how they diliked using the beaming tech as a weapon and yet they had no issue beaming people up with out permission or blowing hostile ships to pieces i mean with how advanced their scanners were they could have just beamed the control systems of hostile ships out once they breeched the shields thus disabling them and forcing them to withdraw which is why i suspect the whole not using beaming as a weapon was a plot device more than anything.

Well for one, humanity at that point wasn't supposed to get weapon technology from the Asgard, so using the transporters as a weapon was kind of against the agreement so to speak. Also I guess using the transporter tech as weapon might be to Hermiod like somehow using penicilin as weapon, twisting something for a peaceful purpose into a weapon.

I always love little moments of Asgard characters appreciating human simplicity. "Crap, Indeed." Cause Thor posited it very early on that The Asgard's technological and genetic advancement has made it hard for them to think in simplier direct ideas and solutions. Thus it was one of humanity's greatest strengths that even as they gain access to vast knowledge, they don't over complicate things. So when ever an Asgard has moments like that I love it cause it shows the appreciation they have for human simplicity.
