Lighting environment too dark. Visual positioning inaccurate. Fly with caution.
Here are some of the tips and guides for flying at night, hope it will helps to give you some idea in regards to both the Mavic Mini/Mini 2 and Operator safety measurement.

This was very informative and well presented. Thank you! I have a Mini and flew many times in the daytime but today I tried to do a night flight and noticed that it drifted A LOT and that the green light flashed really quickly when it took off. I now learned this is normal, thanks to your video. Great tips, thanks!

@@knowthyself1981 that warning doesn't necessary appear during night. It can happened during daytime too. It just meant there are other possible wifi interference around that area...

Great video. I use a flashlight to brighten up my take off spot then hover like you do. My second night flight I did a calibration which messed up my compass. Mini SE went nuts and o crabbed her and got my fingers cut for doing it. Now I feel more experienced. Lol

So prone to crashing in bad light because of the visibility of those sensors is more important when lower then GPS

Hi great video…I’ve only just started drone flying (4 flights so far)….and am thinking about flying at night ….but I have been seeing /reading that when flying , some say to fly into the wind because incase you suddenly have issues or when the battery dies and you have to return to home, you won’t be draining as much battery power because the wind will help ‘push’ the drone back to you….but I think there’s no hard and fast rule because, so far when I fly, once up in the air the wind changes direction anyway…so difficult to keep adjusting the flight path whilst also trying to get the good pictures lol

Hii, thanks for your compliment. All my video edited with Filmora. I used a few music track and remix it to get the effect i want hehehe. Ya i heard Davinci is a good one but i am very comfortable with Filmora and is not very expensive. I subscribed for lifetime plan so only one time payment to use forever. I cant afford Pr yet 😭.

@@theonewithcap6974 eventhought ive been using filmora for quite a while, every video i did, i still continue to discovered new stuff along the way that i didnt even think about previously. Is a very powerful software that need lot of creativity. Only downside i think is masking and proper color grading.

Yup. Some minor edit in Lightroom will make it looks better.
I have another vid comparing the iso/shutter speed in low light and later convert it into a 4k timelapse. Surprisingly it looks reasonable good despite the small sensor.

Do we need add-on flash light / led strobe that attached on to our drone? Maybe it can help to light up the view range & landing sensor?
Btw please check the Ferdinand Wolf channel, and watch the "Cinematic DJI Mavic Mini - City Low Light" please watch the full video, can you help to analyze how he can achieve those result at night city environment?
@@JemmiWijaya personally i try not to add anything so i can have more flight time rather than extra load and i dont think those strobe will help to light up the view range or landing sensor. As for the video, i think is pretty much doable even in auto camera setting + abit of post process because those surrounding lighting on the ground makes it like flying in daylight and he fly low and close to those lighting subject thus enable the sensor to pickup better lighting.
@@CZRProduction yes thank you for the reply, and yes as for Ferdinand Wolf's footage I think the city environment also play big role to light up the night scene (that one is shot in China, I cant make sure is it Beijing or Shanghai, or else),
because as we see most buildings & streets in there are full with bright light, same like in NY Time Square, Las Vegas & Tokyo district that got beautiful night city light
Try it first at dusk .. When the lights first start coming on. I get some good video then. And take off under a street light or somthing it helps the drone close to the ground use its sensors.

nice video man, but you've tested just Mini, right? Mini 2 is exactly the same image video?
Same image video as in? Mavic Mini, Mini 2 and Mini SE both using the same vision position sensor at the bottom so it will react the same. Camera wise for low light, all 3 are using the same camera sensor, only difference is Mini 2 has raw file that can help in post editing.

is there any way to shut off all the lights for night flying? We are doing a outdoor blacklight shoot and that little flash is screwing the shots up.
There is no setting to shut off the lights but maybe u can stick a black tape onto it.

True it is very fun flying manual but I think you should do a video and check it out it’s free on the beta testing program or it is called Mavic Maven, you can also fpv or use a VR headset to control it

My drone won't take off in the dark anymore why? It says low-light unable to take off
Wait until acquired sufficient GPS and should be able to take off.
My Mini 2 will not let me fly at night. Says lighting environment is too dark and automatically forces a return to home. I want to bypass this. I can see the drone it shouldn't matter how dark it is. How do you bypass this automatic feature?
The lighting environment too dark warning is normal even at dawn/dusk. It shouldnt triggered rth.
No Mavic Maven just came out it was just updated to support Mavic mini
