It needs to be enabled for D-Log M and has an option to adjust sharpening and noise reduction. Especially sharpening negatively impacts low light.
Noooooooo I use a triple sharpness program for night runs….. even at triple sharp a quad sharp would be even better! Lol
I just tested my mini4pro. The noise reduction is too aggressive. It produces a bit of that watercolor painting effect. I compare it to my Air2S and the Air 2S is way sharper but having a little more noise. And the 5.4k at night is way superior.
Hey man, so I have the mini 4 Pro, but I definitely don’t have the option of more than 2 seconds shutter speed. However, I’ve just noticed that you can go past this but only in 12 mp, not 48mp. If you know of a setting somewhere which changes the 48mp setting, would be great to know. Cheers very much
Had many drones over the years , but gave it away over the last 18 months. Till now, I just bought the mini 4 and wow, the technology now is amazing. Absolutely love it. Think it's funny how many mini 3s are now on sale second hand on Facebook marketplace 😂

I have only used my 3 about 10 times because we had to come back home early from holiday last year and this is a work year. But in February of next year we are off on holiday till Christmas.

Friend, I make videos on the Mini 4 Pro at night, in night mode, and the video is a little gray! I record in 4K at 30 fps. If so, do I need to lower the exposure to minus -3?
You shld try comparing dlog m to night mode. D log m gives much better footage and mor3 flexibilty in post.
How big is the difference in image quality during the day and at night (long exposure) between the Mini 4 Pro and the Mavic Air 2s (1 inch sensor)? Thank you
I think the highlights gained where as there was a l loss of detail the shadow, which is what I would expect from extended iso. It depends on the application whether I would use it. Bright fireworks for example yes. Thank for the vid

Hello great video thank you. I have the mini 4 pro and based on your video I went to try and get a long exposure pic of traffic, but my shutter only goes up to 2” and not 8 like your video shows. Do you know if this was an update or why I might not have the option to go higher than 2” ? Thanks very much for any help you can lend!!
the aux light makes it much better to fly at night.
8" shutter speed only in 12MP image format. If i change in 48MP, maxim is 2"

Does do the obstacle avoidance sensors not work at night? New to the MP4 drone and my display shows that the vision sensors are unavailable.
I think this is an ambient lightning issue.
I would love to make a video like that in my area, but it's just an impossible feat. I live in rural America where there is little to no ambient light (99% pitch black). Have tried it a couple times, but ended up crashing one of the drones as I could not see anything (flying blind). The only drone I have that can fly at night is the Autel Robotics EVO II Pro Enterprise V3 (has 12 bit video). One of the accessories that come with it is a very bright led headlamp that lights up the ground below and in front of it when it flies forward. The only time I did this was when I was flying further away during dusk and had to get it back home in the dark.

How does the night mode video compare to shooting in 10-bit and then doing noise reduction in DaVinci Resolve? Does it look better overall due to the higher dynamic range? Other than access to the higher ISO setting, is there any benefit to night mode vs. shooting in 10-bit and doing NR later?
You'll get pretty much the same results probably slightly better on resolve, this is just a time saver built in

I've got an issue and wondering if anyone can help. Purchased the mini 4 pro and propellers will start when it's light but soon as I take it out in the dark they won't start and red lights flash... HELP! 🤣

sadly this night mode is not that good ... no D-LogM and the shadows are too crushed (too dark) / no details in the shadows ...I think Mini 3 Pro with D-Cinelike and higher ISO with a lil bit of Neat Video NR is way better at night!

I watched it a couple of nights ago and decided to get the M4P and it has arrived.....however I am only getting 2" exposure time on this - any idea how I can extend this. I am in 'Pro' click the settings and the shutter button and it only goes down to 2" as per my M3P.....would be so grateful for any suggestions!

no filter, you could close by nailing pro settings yourself but you would have to add your own noise reduction too

Yes you are right. I have to sell my 3 and get a 4.
Maybe its better keeping the 3 (dont do updates to keep the 500m height). So in case the 4 will be limited again to 120m abv starting point on 1st Jan 24 you still have the 500m option.

Try a light pollution filter at night.
you can use these but only a slight noticeable difference. Mist and blue filters are cool at night
@DMProductions I agree that the filters billed as "Light Pollution don't do a whole hell of a lot - the reduce the amber/browns of arc sodium lamps but just a tad. Those UV filters are terrific though. Also known as "clear glass" ALL GLASS is UV filtering, lol. They do filter something important: BUGS. Big Bad Bug Guts all over your Hasselblad Micro 4/3rds Cameramera!

To me, night mode kinda looks worse. Sure, on small screen it looks good, better contrast and more light. On big screen it looks way worse - broken lines and overall looks more artificial.
it looks very good on my cellphone, but it really looks pretty bad on a 4k screen :(
just make this feature turn on automatically when is in low light, don't see the point of having to manually select it

Question for you: I planned and flew a Waypoint flight during daylight that I want to shoot at night using my DJI 4 Mini in the night video mode. My daylight flight was shot in the normal daylight video mode. Is there any way to change that to the night video mode in my saved Waypoint route so that it shoots the route in night video mode??
In night shots I never use above 1600 ISO. It's the sweet spot. 12800 ISO? Sure, nice to have that option. But in real life "night mode" really degrades video quality.

I shot in 4K 30 fps hlg. My daytime footage is fine. And I switched to night mode as it got dark. When I enlarge my video, it looks a bit blurry to me. Why is that?
No progress in night clarity and colors as well, Evo nano and lite plus are much better in both

While you were filming from your drone, I was given permission to film on the beach directly under the display. At the time I did not own a drone. However I now have a Mini 4.
As I’ve only had my drone a few days may I ask if you’ve filmed any night scenes in mLOG and how it compares with Night Mode?
I did see a RUclips of somebody filming Tower-bridge, but with Night Mode the high ISO and in-camera noise reduction the entire scene looked like waxy plastic.
I edit in Resolve which has excellent noise reduction capabilities and I’m hoping that I can overcome some of these problems. I know a tiny sensor can’t work miracles and I’d rather tolerate some noise over a plastic looking images from the very few things I’ve seen on RUclips.
Still can't fuck with the evo 2pro, the nano, or the autel lite ,lite plus at ,night dji is behind autel in lowlight and night period. I and many others have seen 98 percent of youtube videos and autel still rules in that department. Dji leads in flight characteristics, and software modes though..Dji best lowlight drone consumer wise are the mavic 3 series,they have very good night and lowlight, but still have way more noise then autel, now the night mode in the m3 series look great but is soft on details at night,but usable.
