sansa doesn’t know tyrion isn’t a horrible person. she hasn’t watched him the way we’ve been able to do and she’s a child being married to someone from the family that killed and broke up her family. i probably wouldn’t have kneeled either. and she did eventually, it’s quite obvious she’s kinda disassociating and is feeling out of it and isn’t completely there in the moment.
Fun fact! In the books, Sansa doesn't know she's marrying Tyrion until she's literally getting ready to walk down the aisle. She's getting dressed by her handmaids and thinks "Oh my gosh, this dress is so beautiful, won't it kinda upstage Margaery's wedding dress?" And then it dawns on her. Heartbreaking.
My favorite thing about this episode is actually the original episode description, which read: "Sam and Gilly meet an older gentleman." Yeah, that sure is one way to say it!
Worst wedding ever??? Oh, you sweet summer children! BTW: That wasn't the only Dragon glass blade Sam had. Remember he found, and is carrying a bag full of them.
People pointed out already that what Sam had was a dagger made of what in this world they call dragonglass, but when they found the cache of it, he also mentioned what we would call it - Obsidian, aka volcanic glass.
Awesome reaction! Every reactor I have seen watching this episode yells at Sam to pick up the dragon glass dagger as they run away. I did too when I first saw the episode.
A bedding ceremony is a real thing from back in medieval times where when a couple were married, they would be taken to their new matrimonial bedroom at the end of the festivities (or sooner) by the guests to have their first "coupling"... and it was done semi-publicly to provide witnesses to the consummation so that if anyone ever questioned the validity of their marriage, no one else could ever say they werent. Yep, you heard that right, you had people watch you getting jiggy with it! ;) lol
Sansa is my favorite character in the show and I love the fact she just doesn't kneel right away for Tyrion. Shows that she is not just the submissive "little dove" everybody thinks she is. She has strength even though she may not be aware of it herself at this point.
Don't worry, everything is going to work out.. this is the worst things get.... lol. Seeing you guys getting so into this brings me so much joy. You guys are still in for plenty of a good ride! We haven't even scratched the surface yet!

11:09 - she didn't understand that she needed to kneel. She's in shock. In the books, both Tyrion and Sansa behave worse to each other. Sansa refuses to kneel no matter what, out of pride and Tyrion gets angry her, pulls at her dress and finally is forced to drape the cloak while standing on the back of king's fool.
So we knew what the dragon glass was for after this, but I had fun with theories what the horn that was found in the cache with it might be for, and who might use it.
remember the hound saved Sansa in the beginning when she was going to push Geoffrey, he also saved her from being raped , and has not done anything to aria.... the hound is the top favorite character on show
Sams got a whole bag of Dragonglass daggers, spearheads, and areowheads. Remember when he found the huge carved stone and asked Gren and Ed to help him lift it, the stood there while they lifted it? Yeah, thats one of Sams suoerpowers and shit... but anyway, they found the bag of Dragonglass weapons underneath and Sams still carrying that mofo around.
Tywin’s father was a weak lord and his bannermen openly laughed at him which infuriated Tywin. They stopped laughing when Tywin completely wiped out a rebellious house (which Cersi tells Margary as a warning).
Loving these reactions! Please consider doing the Last Kingdom when you have space for a new show its amazing and I am sure you will both love it. Thankyou for this journey it's been amazing and will only get better.
Samwell Tarly, the first man to kill a white walker in over 1000 years. I wonder if Randyll Tarly would change his opinion of his son if he had seen that?
@@bradcarver8127 judging by the name they picked for this thumbnail, I think odds are near zero they haven't seen it already. Some of us are just playing along, and giving them love via the algorithm :)
Literally, she’s 14 and only ever dreamed of her wedding. Now she’s standing at her wedding and not a single bit of it is how she envisioned it. So many people don’t view Sansa’s actions as if she’s a child, maybe because the actress is on the tall side?
I honestly viewed it as her disassociating and not really being 'there' anymore. She was lost in her own thoughts, trying not to think about it. Not a direct dig at Tyrion, more wishing she wasn't there.
I mean, Sansa is a child hostage bride so I don’t think she can really be blamed for disassociating during her forced wedding. Not to mention, it isn’t her job to protect the ego of the grown man who is marrying her (against his will, yes, but he actually has a power to prevent this wedding that Sansa does not). Interestingly, in the book, Sansa deciding not to kneel at first is actually portrayed as a more intentional act of protest.

Sansa is so innocent for so long.
Wait who did Sansa think she was marrying? Cause shouldn’t she have been happy it wasn’t Joffrey

Non-spoilery note. The role of Dario Naharis was recast in future seasons! The OG Dario went to to be cast as Francis in the Deadpool movie

Weddings in Game of Thrones. Always a surprise.
I know its easy to hate Sansa when she doesn't kneel for Tyrion, but its completely understandable given the circumstances.
Literally, she’s 14 and only ever dreamed of her wedding. Now she’s standing at her wedding and not a single bit of it is how she envisioned it. So many people don’t view Sansa’s actions as if she’s a child, maybe because the actress is on the tall side?

It's dragonglass or obsidian. Samwell was part of the Nightwatch party that found it buried at the foot of the Fist of the First Men.
Lol ya deff planned that title strategically
God I love that title.
The dagger is Obsidian, aka: Frozen Fire. Volcano glass. Dragon Glass. (Dragonstone is old Targ/Stannis seat of power.)
I love that the title is so accurate….this is CERTAINLY the worst wedding ever
well this is an awesome title hahaha
love that in the books, Sansa is so upset she doesn't even bend for tyrions wedding cloak, instead of her being awkward
I clicked so fast and then i read the title again - ohhhhhhh wait, its not the red wedding. oh well
Ohh My sweet summer children

I want the next episode to be titled "No, THIS is the worst wedding ever!!"
'Dragon glass' = Obsidian
