In pursuit of an early thornback ray. Beach sea fishing at Hopton on sea, Norfolk.

Well after a couple of friends had a thornback or two at Hopton last week, I fancied having a go. Tired of small whiting and dabs on the rods, it was time for a change. Conditions werent very good, since they had their fish, there was a northerly gale that cut 2-3ft of sand off the beach and dumped it further out, making the beach shallow, and there was still a good northerly roll in the water, but you have to be in it to win it!

Where do you park to access this beach? It looks on google maps like it’s all a caravan park.
