He played a kind of secret show here in Honolulu, secret in that it didn't cost anything and I think he just mentioned it on our college radio, but I lucked out and knew someone who was dating the DJ and ended up seeing Oldham perform in a very small room with maybe like 25-30 people in it. His mom was there and I distinctly remember my friend telling her "Well you definitely did something right!". Another random guy there told me "Do you know how lucky we are?" Then he ended the night by asking the crowd for any song they wanted to request and people were shouting things out and someone behind me said "World's greatest!" and I turned around and said "YES!" and then the whole crowd was screaming "World's greatest! World's greatest!" Then he played the song and forgot the lyrics at one point and stopped which was absolutely hilarious given the lyrics. After the concert my friend was telling me "this is the kind of stuff that makes a musician a legend." and I really couldn't agree more. So lucky.

I met Will around 2003 after an in store set in Ann Arbor, MI. Without saying a word, he locked eyes with me and "eye gazed" with me. We did it for about 30 seconds until I broke and giggled. We went on to talk about the craft of acting and Neurolinguistic Programming(I was pursuing acting in Hollyweird at the time). Beautiful and spiritual dude. 🙏
