I've built a few budget systems using these, terrific card for the money - RX6600 is similar to a 2060 Super or 2070. For a budget build it blows the 1660Ti out of the water, it's also faster than a 1080 while using much less power. I paired one with an older i7-6800k, along with a Chinese x99 motherboard and it played almost everything at 1080p/60 at Ultra or very high. Could even hold its own at some 1440p as you've demonstrated nicely. It's probably the budget champion of its generation. Good video mate.
Had me eye on this for a long long time but managed to get a 3060ti before I pulled the trigger on one of these. This one, the Challender one, will be flying off the shelves at that price point, the FPS to pound ratio will make it popular for 1080p and even 1440p gaming. Looks nice too !

don't get a G series, that will be a horrible combination with a RX6600 you need a 5600 or 5700 or the 5600x or 5700. And definitely not a b450 motherboard, that will also kill the performance as you will be forced to use PCIe gen3 speeds and the rx6600 is a gen4 card with only 8 lanes

Please don't use that Text anymore You scared the living shit out of me. I thought my card is artifacting 😂 Other than that, I don't think this is a Good option. Other than wanting a brand-new card. RX 5600XT is the same performance card goes around 100Euro in my market, RX 6600 Minimum 160-170Euro New are 240 Euro+ 5600XT is a full 16 lane PCIE card, Super cool especially Sapphire, very quiet, RDNA does not do anything for you at this Price point, The only downfall is 6GB vs 8GB. Also Sapphire ALL but Reference come with the Upgraded Bios. And it's a Premium AMD brand. But for 170Euros You can get 5700XT which is a better card with 8GB.
i agree about the other options, but there are a large percentage of buyers that flat out refuse to buy used GPUs, weird i know but there are a lot of them out there
I think you may finally be going senile Mike! There weren't "plenty of options" when the 6600 was released, and the 3060 wasn't "basically the same price". Certain world events were happening and the gpu situation was complex! 😊 (I've only watched the first minute of the vid, maybe you address this)
RX 7600 is actually around 25 % faster rx 6600 but it is also 50 % more expensive in my country and at that price in my opinion just push a bit more and get 6700xt. 6600 rx is great for its price also quite power efficient even 450w bronze + psu should be enough (I wouldn't go for 450w but 550w psu instead for more room and also the price difference is tiny). PCIe gen3 or gen4 motherboards provide very small difference in games for rx 6600 .

i sold my A770 8GB a while back and slightly regret it as the drivers are getting much better
@@mikesunboxingThe Phantom Gaming 16GB one is $300 at MicroCenter.
Hey Mike. What would you do if you were me? I just got this card right now. It'll be my brand new PC. Got it for 208€ 🙂 What CPU would you get for it? Ryzen 5 5600G ,Ryzen 7 5700G 8x 3.80GHz.
The core would be 56€ more (177). Why a G? Just in case and and the 6600 came without a driver. I'm a dumb ass when it comes to software! And the G should work for the start, right?
ASRock B450M Pro4 R2.0 is planned.Sure I like to have a X instead of a G. 16MB level 3cache more. I guess you as a nerd don't even think about it,the X is your choice right? I've played 3500hours Medieval Dynasty. That's what I do mostly and I plan to do so further. City Skyline II won't work well now with 16GBRam right? DO I need 32GB ram in FHD? I'm so unsure, how to get a driver put it on a stick and... Were do I put it?
I need windows 11 or can I install my windos 7 to get it running and change to Linux mint afterward? I just don't know what to do.
I wanna get rid of Windows because of theyr GODLIKE RULES in 11.
THX for help and greetings from Germany
Dennis
don't get a G series, that will be a horrible combination with a RX6600 you need a 5600 or 5700 or the 5600x or 5700. And definitely not a b450 motherboard, that will also kill the performance as you will be forced to use PCIe gen3 speeds and the rx6600 is a gen4 card with only 8 lanes
@@mikesunboxing Thx Mike I know you are right about the killing of performance bit. Since I didn't get a driver for the Radeon RX6600 Challenger D I thought I get at least a running system. After that I could get the driver from from Asrock and replace it!? Not ? Ou dear. You know what. I just get my stuff from Mindfactory (Yes 5700X ;-)
and pay my local dealer to install it with a driver. I hope he's gonna do it. I'm getiting to old for this BS. What MB would you advice me? The cheapest one from Mindfactory is out of the race now😁See I didn't even know this lane thing. At least I get 2more core and the 32MB 3rd level cache. THX for the help Mike

Is it worth buying a 1440p monitor for this GPU or is it better FHD though?
1440 would be okay for me
I have a question, so I have an antec 550w 80 plus bronze and can I use a RX6700Xt, also my processor is a Ryzen 5 5600G.
yes but your are right on the edge there really
Thank you for the reply and yeah, that's what I'm worried about @@mikesunboxing

i don't know sorry
Well Details.
I want to know this RX6600 give all support for Photoshop, Aftereffect & Premiere pro? I'm mostly working in 1080P.
Not gaming..
yes that will be okay, nvidia would be better
@@mikesunboxing Thank you for the response.
But I just Ordered the RX6600.
I dont know how but I want to copy over all mt info from my old hdd to my ssd can some help I also want to take my hdd out after I get it all over to my ssd pls pls help
I’ve used EaseUS Disk Copy to clone a boot HDD to a new SSD. It’s free, though you need to give them an email address.
Hows the asrock 6600 compared to asus 6600 and sapphire 6600 all 8gb
not much if anything between them, get the cheapest or the one you like the look of
@@mikesunboxing ok, will do that. Have you tested those out before? The above mentioned😁
Man, this card run games on Ultra combined with i3 or mid-range Ryzen.
What budget things you talk about?!
it won't be running ultra settings much over 60fps unless it is older or esports games
I have a R5 5600G with a 500 watt psu. Is it okay for to me buy and upgrade to this GPU with my existing setup?
should be okay
I'm using bequiet 450w psu without a problem with i5-8400 (it has the same TDP 65W as 5600G) and rx 6600
My build btw im getting rx6600xt for 253 dollars is it worth it
Ryzen 5500
Msi b450 a pro vdh max
Coolermaster 550 plus bronze
Asrock 8gb rx6600
Galax revolution 5
500gb p3 crucial nvme
1tb wd hdd
8x2 ram
Is this build good or would you suggest me any other
i would maybe suggest a B550 motherboard and a 5600 processor if possible, otherwise the RX6600 will be running at pice gen3 speeds
@@mikesunboxing 5600g or 5600
Good for video editing, streaming and graphic design? Not for gaming.
good for all purposes really and good value
I got the gigabyte eagle version because it's cheaper in my country are they the same speed?
they will be without a margin or error difference, you likely won't notice it without running a benchmark and checking the data
Is this compatible for intel i5 11400??.,.,please help🥶
yes it is
what is a good budget motherboard and processor to combo with the rx6600
b550 gaming plus and 5600 works great
Should i take this version or Saphire?
i like this version personally but both are a reasonably safe bet
I think Sapphire and Asus are the top models for the RX 6600, while this one being one of the worst, temp wise
Would this be better than a ASUS Pheonix RTX 3050 8G?
i think so
6600 is a little better... for what it is priced at now, you can't go wrong. I sold my 2060 and have this exact 6600 coming in the mail.
I have the same card paired with 5600X. But all the games at 60 to 90 FPS is not smooth. I have 144HZ monitor is there some setting for that?

FLUID MOTION FRAMES?
wasn't available at the time of testing sorry. although FSR3.1 is out now and is likely better with lower latency
Do i need an anti sag thingy for this?
no it is quite lightweight, but you can use one if you like

any decent for VR oculus quest?
not sure sorry, not really knowledgeable on VR stuff
Anyone know if this would fit on a Gigabyte H610M S2H DDR4 Micro ATX motherboard with a Wi-Fi card on the other PCIe slot below?
not sure, sorry
Guys should i buy rx 6600 challenger d or eagle 6600?

😂
Other than that, I don't think this is a Good option.
Other than wanting a brand-new card.
RX 5600XT is the same performance card goes around 100Euro in my market, RX 6600 Minimum 160-170Euro New are 240 Euro+
5600XT is a full 16 lane PCIE card, Super cool especially Sapphire, very quiet, RDNA does not do anything for you at this Price point, The only downfall is 6GB vs 8GB. Also Sapphire ALL but Reference come with the Upgraded Bios. And it's a Premium AMD brand.
But for 170Euros You can get 5700XT which is a better card with 8GB.
At new yes a great card for price, however yes used 5700XT is a beast still, picked up another SOYO 5700XT for £100 yesterday! Made a video on it.
i agree about the other options, but there are a large percentage of buyers that flat out refuse to buy used GPUs, weird i know but there are a lot of them out there
I think you may finally be going senile Mike! There weren't "plenty of options" when the 6600 was released, and the 3060 wasn't "basically the same price". Certain world events were happening and the gpu situation was complex! 😊 (I've only watched the first minute of the vid, maybe you address this)
and it depends on your location globally
Can i use it in pcie 3.0x16 slot
you can if you like, but it will be slightly restricted
@@mikesunboxing It will run with pcie 3.0 speeds
@@syedanwar4187 There isn't much performance difference from what I remember reading I guess it depends maybe

RX 7600 is 20% faster Than RX6600
RX 7600 is actually around 25 % faster rx 6600 but it is also 50 % more expensive in my country and at that price in my opinion just push a bit more and get 6700xt. 6600 rx is great for its price also quite power efficient even 450w bronze + psu should be enough (I wouldn't go for 450w but 550w psu instead for more room and also the price difference is tiny). PCIe gen3 or gen4 motherboards provide very small difference in games for rx 6600 .
