When u come to Welly I can show u round the hoods if u want. Porirua was pretty notorious in the day for gangs.
It suck that it will be winter though.
And with u hearing about the crime here, it’s because it’s a big deal when stuff like that happens here. Wherever you go there is always crime, it’s just at what level. It’s super rare for a random person just walking down the street to have any issues. It’s mostly gangs and domestic violence. The latter actually being the main problem. ❤

I'm from and live in Hastings, raised in Flaxmere. It's all good. Nice pace of life plenty to do, good smoke. The land is real good, there are loads of huge orchards all around the city. The scenery is beautiful.

Use to live in Flaxmere for a lil bit on and off as a kid because my dad was a seasonal worker too. working out in the fields doing apples etc I guess it was a lifestyle to make ends meet. Use to get up to mischief of course with friends who had Mongrel Mob parents because there wasn't really anything else to do lol but if you were respectful then you didn't get no problems.

My home town Hastings born n raised yeah things was way better back in time I use to ride around the hoods in Camberley and ride in town as a kid we use to hangout around the streets talk n play I went to Camberley primary school too to me Hastings was it back in time but now it's different this is 20yrs from now after I came back from Australia. We didn't have fones or anything back in the days everything was straight up and straight to your face and whatever problem U had U faced it than and right there. Oh and Hastings is where the mongrel mob chapter started brother 🤙🏼🤙🏼.

Usually it was worse back in the day (speaking from Australia) is that all the public housing and housing projects were all confined to certain areas, which breeds a ghetto. Now the government spread them out over the whole city and knock the bad ones down so that stems the flow
Also the police go real hard on gang violence out here these days
But some areas are still bad and are even worse than before
Where I grew up though, the housing blocks are all knocked down and it no longer feels dangerous to walk through the area, you just see a lot of junkies and grime but less violence and gangs

@Twano2am his most well known is west side hori. The original tho not the remix.
Side note in case you don't know; "Hori" translates to the name George, but it has a lot of history as a slur used in a derogatory way towards Māori, a lot of Māori use the term themselves but it's not really used as a term of endearment, it's means poor, rugged, rough around the edges. Tipene uses it in a way to take pride in his rough and rugged background
