  • Let's take a look at how good John Stark was actually during his NBA career.
From Oklahoma jail cells to dunking on Michael Jordan, the story of John Starks is like no other in the NBA. Undersized and underappreciated, the Tulsa native has had to battle hardships and setbacks on his way to becoming an icon in the big apple. And the craziest part of it all… You’ve probably never heard of him. But, before he was posterizing Black Jesus and leading the Knicks to an NBA finals appearance, John Starks was just a weekend hooper out in Oklahoma stacking shelves and struggling to stay out of trouble. Starks came from a big family, with 7 brothers and sisters, all from different dads. This often resulted in pickup games in the backyard that were brutal and bloody. But Starks wasn’t allowed to cry and instead learned how to hit back and hit back harder.

You're absolutely right. That's my bad on my part. I knew that, but I'm not even sure why I wrote point guard.

Starks was my idol growing up. I loved the Knicks and hated Jordan. So it just seemed a perfect fit. I loved his game and attitude on the court. Still in my top 3 favorite players!

@@Michael_Page just cuz he was in it doesn't mean he got dunked on, he tried to block it from the side

@Hoops_Central Jordan wasn't under the rim. He ran to meet him is there. The other dude was in the way and that dude got dunked on.

@@mikelowrey3565 I'm not arguing that with you...
I am just saying MJ was clearly in the poster. Ipso facto, he was posterized.
