Definitely something that should be more prevalent in the world. But as you may agree people dont really pay much heed to their first aid needs. Treat it more like that triangle your supposed to keep in the trunk of your car haha
Great video! Thank you =) For redudancy, like belt knife and pocket knife, I like to bring a lighter or matches in addition to the ferro rod. Completely agree lighters are not the best in cold weather, but you can keep them warm close to your body and they will work, should you be in a situation where you have to use one.
Nice one, Joe! I am there with you on not usually carrying saws or axes unless it’s something specific. I use an SAK one handed trecker with a small saw thats good enough for anything small that might come up. As far as wood collection goes, the soft axe of the gloves does pretty much everything you need with less energy expenditure.
Great vid love the zip tie idea hope you folks are doing well , it’s just now getting cold here in PA dropping to the low 30s f tonight low to mid 40s f tomorrow LOVE IT
Hey, I dress in layers as it gets unbelievably cold here. So I usually wear the Rab microlight under a windtopper anorak like in this video. I use the Rab ascent if I am not wearing a wind stopper. I wear rab more for the material and fit which I think is more important than the brand. But I can recommend the Buffalo Mountain shirt straight out of the box.
Axeidents 🙄😂 Great stuff! Lots of logic. Telling whoever is with you what you’ve got on you and where it is very smart. Thanks for the ideas, the lighter tip is great too! Nice one buddy 👍🏻 For anyone who doesn’t have a wazoo cache belt get one!
@MarcinPetruszka they where a collaboration between Sasta and Sauso. Not sure if they are still about. They are elk leather. The softest but toughest gloves Iever had
Now then, joe hope you and your good lady are both well . Brilliant video as usual buddy . I wish i picked up a spyderco paramilitary at a gun show here in Doncaster a couple of months ago so so much cheaper than full price on line ill get one next year, maybe . Keep up the fantastic vids take care buddy 👍
@ shame. I have a few of John Hudson books. I’m very much the same with having a set carry of stuff in my pockets both for work (paramedic) , private work (austere medic) and personal edc. Just can’t go wrong with that thought pattern. Did find one podcast interview he did with Paul Kirtley so I’ll give that a listen.
Dude, the DB (decibels) on your mic might be too high. It hurts my ears wearing my Apple Air Pods. Maybe it is on my side, but I doubt it. Did you have them way up? That is the Rode wireless go?
@inforestsandlands yeah I think if I bought the£400 fjallraven anorak if bloody need it cause if be canning out permanently. I.e. kicked out my three missus
@martlinnas it defo is something i have to be conscious of ! I have Von Willibrands. So, it's not full-blown haemophilia. So I get nose bleeds, bruise easily, and somedays if I cut myself, it will take an awful long time to stop. When I start getting sporadic nosebleeds, I have to go and get a platelet shot. But yes, being heavily tattooed, survival instructor, and also working full time for a knife company defo pushes the limits haha
Left for Life. Not heard that anywhere else. Thank you.

Great video. Very informative. 👍
I load the pockets of the pants or shorts the night before down to my keys and belt every night so everything is where it's supposed to be!

Hello Ida!!!!

What are these gloves? The large tabs look like Hestra, but I can't find the exact model… thanks in advance
@MarcinPetruszka they where a collaboration between Sasta and Sauso. Not sure if they are still about. They are elk leather. The softest but toughest gloves Iever had
@inforestsandlands looks like i need to move to Finland to make those affordable 😁. Very nice gloves.!

Have you a link to that podcast. Would be interesting to listen
@simplefieldcraft sadly they have all been taken down. The show was called "trial by fire" and the gentleman was JohnHudson

What kind of anorak are you wearing?
Its from a store in Finland called Varusteleka , my friend.

Did you have them way up? That is the Rode wireless go?
@sipapito thanks for the heads up. It is indeed. Sadly it's something that works for soke and not for others. We are thinking of just switching it out
@ No big deal, I have the same mics and was wandering if I should keep it way up or not .Im looking at DJI mics but not sure yet!
Grand video. Very logical. That's a nice anorak too? Fjallraven?
@danstewart7834 thanks dan. It's from Varusteleka. It's their own range
@inforestsandlands gesundheit
Having googled the brand. This looks good
@danstewart7834 and at a reasonable price too
@inforestsandlands yeah I think if I bought the£400 fjallraven anorak if bloody need it cause if be canning out permanently. I.e. kicked out my three missus
Whoa, Joe, it must be difficult to be a survival instructor while being hemofiliac? There are medicine to help with that nowadays?
