30 years L.E. carrying every day. I have been using the Eberstock smaller version for about 6 to 8 months, a Hill People Gear for about 6 months and a Helikon-Tex for about 2 years. at first I only used the "waist bag for running. Then I started using the Eberstock for motorcycling, now they are about my preferred mode of off duty carry. I now have reading glasses going with me every where and they just prove to be a good way of carrying everything that 60 laps around the sun force me to carry now. And, now having been a firm member of team I.D.G.A.F. since turning 50 I will continue this practice. Excellent video. I can't believe I just stumbled onto your channel. But than again I am 60 and don't spend every waking moment on a device, I still like to play with guns, chainsaws, motorcycles and most of all my wife:-)
For those of us who travel a sling bag is a very useful piece of kit. Travel bag goes above the seats on the airline or bus while the slingbag can keep all gear needed handy within reach (phone, headphones/airpods, chargers, cables, ID, whatever). Also keeps it close to body, easily concealed and our pockets empty for the nefarious subway poachers.
Less is best. I used to 'EDC' the typical gear list because it was 'fun' to have all this crap 'just in case.' The joy is in having the potential to meet any bizarre, dreamed-up scenario that our spendy spends can be justified for! But after trying to manage all this, I gave up and am back to the man standard of: phone, wallet, keys, clip knife, and CCW. Haven't had to slay a zombie, or build a makeshift space shuttle out of twigs and paracord in the last three years. I do miss having all that potential at hand though - It was the best way I could see all that cool gear 🤣
I mostly agree. But I hate carrying just the bare-bones gear (phone, wallet, keys, knife and CCW) in my pants. And like Jeremy said, when it's hot and you're wearing lightweight clothes and don't have a decent waste-band and pockets, you can't carry the basics anyway. I'm old, so I'm making to move to the waste pack.
I love my Fanny pack. I was anti Fanny pack until I tried it, and 100% love it. I still carry IWB from time to time, but the comfort and versatility of fanny pack is second to none.
I carry the 5.11 Select Carry Pistol Pouch when out in the woods or working out. It works great and holds my P365 easy. I can also fit my VP9 in it. Has stretchy bands inside to keep it in place and a quick open tab on the outside for fast easy access. It also functions as a sling pack if I want it to. Been out hiking and got tired of it around the waist. very comfy as a sling. Not as much room as the ones you showed but functional enough to use to carry non-gun things.
I've just started using a fanny pack, the one you show exactly except it is blue. I find it greatly beneficial to me and comfortable. My new EDC from now on.
I have been running a hill people gear medium original kit bag for the last two years and LOVE IT. Everything is always there, never forget anything, nothing ends up in the wash, pockets are always empty. Try it, you might like it.
I have a Vertx fanny and I really love the built-in holster for my semi-automatic "hole puncher" and a few hole puncher magazines. Totally worth the extra cost over a non-hole puncher-compatible version.
I committed to using one for a month just so I could speak intelligently about them. After, I still prefer my gun in the appendix position but when that’s not the best choice this is an acceptable solution. I got the Vertex S.O.C.P. and found a small piece of body armor that fits in the rear pouch. So wearing it cross body can have a small advantage. Like any carry position, PRACTICE YOUR DRAW!!!! You’ll find it’s not as slow as you think. Having a gun on you somewhere is always better than not having one at all.
About once a year, I think about rockin a fanny pack, so I go look at pics of Hulk Hogan wearing a fanny pack at my current age, then give up on the Fanny Pack idea and start working out more regularly.
Yes sir!!!!! Ive been all about the fanny for years. Its a basic kit that has a little bit of everything you need and supplements all my other bags. No matter where i go,my fanny gos. I obviously always have on person edc, which is phone, keys, wallet, flashlight, folding knife, watch, Friendly sweed paracord bracelet, lighter, whistle, compass and pew pew. Possibly my leatherman as well. The fanny has everything else. If i truly needed to i could survive with just my on person edc and my fanny. Most the time my fanny goes into what ever pack im carrying with me which depends on what im going out to do. I love the fact that i can just throw my fanny on my person. I can toss it in my work or truck bag and if needed i can ditch the truck bag and go full on and toss the fanny in my bug out or inch bag. No matter what if i have at least my fanny, i know i got the bare minimum of what i need for almost any situation i may find myself in. Real men aren't afraid to rock the fanny!😂
I worked in Argentina some time ago, men down there at that time wore a small Fanny pack on their strong side. I got used to it, and when I came back here, I still did it for a while…. But it really is a very functional tool.
Hell yeah! I got the Eberlestock a few months back too, I love it. Let someone say I look stupid. It’s way more easy than dicking around my pockets finding things.
There was a time when my EDC paraphernalia filled both front pockets and a hip pocket on my trousers and I wore fishing shirts daily so that I could put the rest of my stuff in the two chest blouson pockets of the shirts. Then I bought a Nutsac Sling Bag to empty out all of those pockets and then some! I picked up a Nutsac Man Bag Damit (MBD) and carried it as a smaller sling pack until a wannabe smartass referred to my new Nutsac as a "nice purse!" The MBD now serves as a valet tray on my dresser and has been replaced with a Nutsac Speed Sling that looks a bit less like a purse. I do use several "fanny packs, though I prefer to refer to them as 'Butt Packs.' The first is a Carry Commission Bum Bag and the second worth mentioning is a Waterfeld Waist Pack. Count me in as a fan of Butt packs! An interesting and very well-made video. Thank you for that!
being disabled and in a power wheelchair whenever I go out of the house. I am usually rocking a waist bag. no one gives me or it a 2nd look, they hide my revolver or my compact easy peasy.
I'm a small sling bag guy. Right between fanny pack and backpack. I like having more capacity as well as not opening up the compartment with a gun in it anytime i need something out of it.
I love the eberlestock bando bad. It is perfect for summer with typical summer wear and sweats in the winter. Holds all the basics you need for EDC. Perfect for driving with as well, you will not have to worry about getting to your pistol when you need it.
If you wear it on your butt, it's a fanny pack, or butt pack. If you wear it up front, it's a hip pack. If you wear it diagonally off your shoulder, then it's a mini sling bag. I wore a butt pack for years in the infantry. Extremely handy for outdoorsmen, like bushcraft practitioners. I wear mine in front, I carry a concealed defense item, very available when seated.
Make sure to stow your tourniquet the right way! Put the grey time strap to the side. When shit hits the fan you will lose the ability to do micro adjustments with your fingers and lose time and blood. Your TQ will be useless the moment you need it. Preparation and training is a must with these things. Greetings from Germany 🤘
Thanks so much for your great video. Very informative and also had me cracking up! I've never had one of these before (used to laugh at people who did) but am considering buying one for practicality reasons. I've been looking at all different types and reviews, and the Bando bag seems to be going to the top of my list. The main reason I want one is that I have a lot of crap to carry when out walking the dog at night, and I hate stuffing my pockets full of the things I need. I typically take poop bags, a knife, flashlight, pepper spray, keys, wallet, phone, and also have my CCW IWB with a spare mag on me as well, and it's all uncomfortable and weighs me down. It's also a project just trying to load all this stuff up and get out the door. I like that the Bando has three separate compartments, keeping the CCW compartment separate from the main compartment that has all your EDC stuff in it, so I don't have to open the CCW compartment exposing my firearm in order to get my wallet or whatever out if I go into a store. Love me some "Beaver Bag"! LOL!
Been carrying like this for years and thanks to you I can up my game! Usually wear sport shorts or pants but like you said, having full pockets it’s just not convenient or comfortable. Keep up the good work. Fan of the pegging style 😂
Very good review, went and ordered a Bando bag. Very useful with kids. Can hold your gear plus snacks. Easier and safer way to carry a firearm. It just works. Keep up the great work!!!🤙
First time watching your videos… LOVE the one line humor!!! I had the eberlestock reg and liked it ok. It was just a tad small but the main thing I didn’t like was no “rapid access tab” or even a double zipper on the secondary pocket so you could offset your zippers to keep the main ccw zippers clear. I found the Helicon Tex I think that checks those boxes and fits my G45 with an optic and spare mag. Thanks for sharing!!!
Hell nah! Those pants otoh have merit. Thanks for the shout. Wish I had space dedicated to cleaning/working on pews like yours. Thats dope, man. Quality content plus a bonus for the well lit show stage. Subbed.
YES! Fanny pack GANG! I have a vertx long walks fanny pack. I keep a TQ on the left side molle and a Kizer+Maverick Customs harpoon on the right molle. Both are concealed by a tee shirt. I keep my wallet, lockpick set, and a practice lock in the back compartment. Glock 19+ streamlight tlr-1hl, a custom IFAK, and spare mags in the main compartment. Front pocket alternates between diapers and wipes, a multitool, or a headlamp and dog training treats.
Great video my friend. I give you kudos for tackling this "sensitive" yet, practical issue. I've battled with this as well, however, using the "right" crossbody is effective and not as "geeky" as the "fanny/waist" pack. I think either config is just fine and I sue both depending on the situation; I could simply care less what others think of me. What I find funny is most videos on "EDC" I see the reviewer stuffing all sorts of shiz in his ALL pockets including the cargo pockets......I have NO idea how someone could love the feeling of this or being loaded down....I can barely stand to have a minimal wallet in my pocket, EDC/clip-in pocket knife, chapstick, very small Fisher space pen, and a watch on. Hell, others (RUclipsrs/reviewers) will bloody stuff a full size loaded out wallet, iPhone PLUS, set car keys with all sorts of tools on it, Leatherman, chapstick, bit kit, clip-in flashlight, Airpods, notepad/pen, paracord, sunglasses, pen, another clip-in pocket knife, Bic lighter mini first aid kit, CCW with 2 extra mags, fixed blade on their belt, bandana, possible extra mag outside their CCW config, etc., etc., etc., WTF? I think you get my drift as so many RUclipsrs do this very thing; it's insanity IMHO. Just get a damn waist or crossbody bag to carry all that shiz. But hey, to each their own if that config floats their boat. Cheers my friend.
I rock a small sling bag all the time. Gun, fixed blade, multi tool, notepad. If you practice drawing from it, it’s awesome. I end up carrying my gun more actually
To each their own, of course. I can see the value and utility of what I'll call "off body carry" for a lot of the stuff we like to schlep around. I also see why some folks are reluctant to carry a pistol (in particular) off-body. I have a sling bag that I carry at times, especially when I'm going to be in unfamiliar environments. But most of the time, the jeans-and-plaid shirt look (or short trews in summer) serve as decent "urban camouflage" for me. I like being less-remarkable without being hard-core "grey man" dude.
I have a Kifaru Rogan and really like it. Summer time I conceal carry with it but I usually have shorts/jeans with a Kore Essentials belt on and just use an IWB holster but I have 3 young kids and the Rogan ends up carrying diapers, wipes, snacks etc. I can empty that stuff out and use it during hunting season as well. Love that bag
2 minutes in and already agree. I personally have carried Fanny packs and crossbodies. Currently I’m carrying the chrome industries mini cadet. But they’re great. Carry your gun, knife, wallet keys whatever and be comfy rather then a pocket full of stuff. And if you do get down somewhere and feel like just carrying your keys then cool throw them in your pocket but. Days at the park or hikes whatever. They’re the way to go.
I got three sizes I use small, medium and large... and honestly it doesn't have to be anything fancy... Been thinking about doing a vid about this too... Anyways, great video and thanks for your time as well😎✌️
I've been using fanny packs for many years now since I don't give a rats **s what other people think. I have small ones for just a little extra EDC gear when in town. Larger ones when in the outdoors and a special one as first aid kit. I just don't like having bulky or heavy pockets. They might not be very common in the US or maybe parts of northern Europe but you do see them in a lot of parts of the world. I know because I travel. In my country The Netherlands they are actually fashionable but as a sling bag used mostly by young people. But a very good video so I subscribed and liked.
Rock my Eberlestock standard all the time! Pew pew, knife, light, Snakestaff TQ, extra mag, and blowout kit with chest seals. Have an XL setup the same way for a larger pew pew. Great video!
I've been wearing one for 2 years now. There is some Freedom there when you truly don't care what people think about you! Honestly, the great majority of people aren't paying attention and don't even notice it. Great for carrying in the heat, when you really don't want a gun crammed in your shorts all day. My $.02
Deputy for 30 years. Been using fanny pack for that long to carry my off duty weapon. In less I'm going some place fancy then I wear my holster under my suit jacket.
Ended up turning the Vertx waist pack into an IFAK with some extra bandaids, medicine, etc. and it lives in the truck now while the bando bag is for the spicier stuff.
This is the first time finding your channel; I literally laughed out loud a few times. Whole heartedly agree with your hot takes; been carrying a BumBag as my EDC for a while, tucking it in my backpack when I need to carry more. Definitely intrigued by that vertex bag with the chest strap attachment!
I ordered a bandobag xl prior to watching. I was looking for validation. Your video made me laugh the most. I received my first "fanny pack" about 30 years ago as a Christmas gift I only wore to carry shotgun shells dove hunting. It was just a single big pocket. I'm calling mine an appendix pack! Also I'm planning to carry my p365 macro in a holster behind my appendix pack and use the pistol space for maybe oc, fixed blade, extra meds.
My Eberlestock fanny pack is awesome. One advice I would give is to get the large one unless you plan on carrying one of the tiny microcompacts. My PDP compact doesn’t fit easily in the regular size one, but it fits great in the large.
to be honest man you are so right. my name is andrew and i have been watching you for years and i fricken love fanny pack in the summer. you are deffinetly not crazy for doing this
I'm a fan of the Bando Bag XL myself. Added a Vertx tactigami holster and it's perfect for my carry. Only issue I've had with it is sitting down in a vehicle with it on..
I used to be anti-fanny pack, but I’ve got to admit-they’re a game-changer when traveling. Perfect for tossing all your essentials in at airport security, and you’ve got everything within arm’s reach on the flight without needing to get up. Convenience wins!
Ok, those that hang toilet paper underneath are just worse than those wearing a yellow bucket cap. As for the dark side, I’m there and own a 5.11 fanny pack that attaches to my 5.11 Covert backpack. Love the set up and the hidden compartment for my little blank thing 😂. Great video!
I've battled with this as well, however, using the "right" crossbody is effective and not as "geeky" as the "fanny/waist" pack. I was anti-fanny pack until 2020 when we started trailer camping because the world lost their minds with covid, and that was the only thing to do. I found that a fanny pack for all the keys, flashlights, lighters, etc, etc, was awesome. I could still carry an appendix and / or stow my G19 in the pack. It really made everything better. I'm a fan.
Hey Jeremy! Always makes my day to see your videos pop up in my notifications. I absolutely love your style of content and you're very good at it. Eager to see more from you and hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Also really love chest packs, I've been using the 5.11 Skyweight Utility pack and it's also a great option. Great harness and has the ability to be turned into a fanny pack. Digging these different options for EDC
I rock a Bando XL now and still have/use the smaller Bando, a HPG waist pack, and several fjallraven packs (for non-permissive environments, like Europe). Don’t use the pack everyday, but it just depends on what I’m wearing.
I couldn't agree more. Try a sling style pack that can double as a fanny pack. It really is a comfortable way to wear a small pack when a situation calls for it
I agree with all that you said, a fanny pack is the perfect solution to most all your EDC needs, - if you take style out of the equation. The first time I wore mine, my wife made the comment that it was like a minivan, a nearly perfect mode of transportation for most people, but once again, - only if you take style out of the equation.
OK Jeremy, I have had this question for the past few months that you have been on the fanny pack kick. Why not just pick up a couple pairs of the Vertx shorts? The shorts version of the pants that you like? I live in SWFL and they are my go to. No fanny pack needed.
I've been rockin a fanny pack for like 10 years. Simple black clip it on, spin it around to the back, no one even knows. It's hard to keep keys and a wallet and phone in pockets of basketball shorts.
I run a eberlestock xl bando and a vertex socp . I work at a school and i carry first aid, meds, writing tools and other things without issue. Its great.
Just my 2c but i like the dewalt work pants from lowes. They also have space in the knees for gloves (which seconds as knee pads if you arent using the gloves or have 2nd set with you). Good video though!!
I love the video Jeremy! I agree with you here and I wear my vertx as a cross-body bag all the time. You can carry the pew pew, as well as first aid. It’s the most streamline way to protect your family. The macho guy haters are prob the same guys who can’t do a sit-up

Agreed 💯 fanny packs are making a big impact now. It is the ultimate man's accessory carry nowadays!
One of the best reviews and walk throughs of our Bando Bag we've seen. Thank you for trusting our gear!
I’m sold gonna order one
Absolutely love my bando bag. I have IWB’s & OWB’s and still prefer my bando bag each time.
Buying one now
Love your products.
Love my standard Bando! Waiting for the XL to arrive now.
That one member of the wolfpack be like, "it's not a purse, it's called a satchel. Indiana Jones wears one."
European carryall - and that makes you à fancy boy
"And Indiana Jones was a pedophile"
My Dad was an Army major, bodyguard, air marshal, cop, and federal agent in his lifetime. He carried a fanny pack. Judge all you want.

Good to know we can still play after 60!
I'm about to join the IDGAF team next year.
Hmmmmm
I need to have a long conversation with myself before i could rock a fanny pack.
😂
You gotta be norwegian, yes? 😅
@ Det stemmer 😊👍🏻

Nailed it! Die Hard IS a Christmas movie, pocketknives SHOULD BE carried tip up, and toilet paper DEFINITELY rolls off the top.
Been carrying the SOCP for A YEAR. Great EDC. I stopped worrying about what everyone else thought.
Comfort… and concealed carry. Great vid. 👍
I love my Fanny pack. I was anti Fanny pack until I tried it, and 100% love it. I still carry IWB from time to time, but the comfort and versatility of fanny pack is second to none.

Friend from across the pond here. You are correct. Beaver bag is a personal favourite though.
Mmmm beaver

Die Hard IS a Christmas movie.
Pineapple DOES go on pizza.
The toilet paper goes OVER.
And I carry my pew pew "tip" down. 😂
😂
Right, wrong, right, right
All except for the pizza, blasphemer!😂
Right, never, wrong, right.
Right, Right, Right and Right!
I bought one recently on vacation…. Embarrassed by it but grateful for it at the same time.
About once a year, I think about rockin a fanny pack, so I go look at pics of Hulk Hogan wearing a fanny pack at my current age, then give up on the Fanny Pack idea and start working out more regularly.
😂😂
Makes perfect sense.
Also, I pretty much assume everyone wearing a fanny pack is packing either a gun of fudge.

Growing up in the 80’s I just can’t go back to the Fanny pack, but I compromised with the sling 😎

I am considering a sling bag as well. Patagonia looks good. Which do you prefer?
@ I got my self CodeofBell X-pod II. It can hold 7L but able to compact for a smaller carry. There’s more other sling that might fit your preferences.
@@lkplmao thank you! I will check that out.
Very good. Another solid option is the SERE Sack from Cole-Tac.
Always enjoy your videos. You make something about everything.
LOVE mine. Been team beaver bag for about four years now.
Long time TNP’r here. Agreed, fanny packs are the way to go. I’ve had many, but my go to is the Eberlestock bando smaller version.
I've always loved carrying around a fanny pack I take one everywhere I go as part of my EDC.
I got three sizes I use small, medium and large... and honestly it doesn't have to be anything fancy... Been thinking about doing a vid about this too... Anyways, great video and thanks for your time as well😎✌️
I have a couple of fanny packs for concealed carry. I do agree with what you’re saying. I find it easily accessible and convenient.
No hate at all! I've been wearing one as an EDC for a few years now.
I running a sling pack for work carry and work great maybe a good fanny pack could be cool too and maybe update to carry option.
Fun fact, I once went on a Disney trip with a bunch of off duty cops. They all wore fanny packs because they had concealed carries inside.
Willing to bet Not One Damn One of Them Got Into Any Disney Theme Park Whilst Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
😎👍🏻
Agree. Bando XL is the best!
I've been using fanny packs since the early 80's and still do.
Thanx for the video my Brother 👍⚔✝🇺🇸
I wore a diagonal chest rig for nine days. It’s changes my way of thinking about them.
Im a fan now and realize the functionality of the EDC bag!!! so convince your live stream followers!!!
Double sided hook and loop straps around a IWB holster work well to secure a holster inside the bando bag.
Jeremy is back and fanny packs are cool (unless you wear it cross body, but as a chest pouch it's also cool)! LOL.
My Eberlestock fanny pack is awesome. One advice I would give is to get the large one unless you plan on carrying one of the tiny microcompacts. My PDP compact doesn’t fit easily in the regular size one, but it fits great in the large.
Thanks for posting such a through presentation.
to be honest man you are so right. my name is andrew and i have been watching you for years and i fricken love fanny pack in the summer. you are deffinetly not crazy for doing this
This would be a great pack to use as an EDC to keep all of my colostomy pouch supplies. Thank you Jeremy !
I'm a fan of the Bando Bag XL myself. Added a Vertx tactigami holster and it's perfect for my carry. Only issue I've had with it is sitting down in a vehicle with it on..
Die Hard is def a Christmas movie. Tip down, Pineapple, TP and hotter than a spoon in a crack house just earned you a subscriber! 😆
Weeks to see a video from ya, and we get this.
Who hurt you?
love it brother, even tho I don't agree - keep em comin'.
lol!
I've battled with this as well, however, using the "right" crossbody is effective and not as "geeky" as the "fanny/waist" pack. I snorted at this remark. Thank you.
SWFL here. Got the bando bag when it came out. Game changer.
Missed your videos man! Welcome back 💪
I’ve been using a sling bag…
OK Jeremy, I have had this question for the past few months that you have been on the fanny pack kick. Why not just pick up a couple pairs of the Vertx shorts? The shorts version of the pants that you like? I live in SWFL and they are my go to. No fanny pack needed.
I've been rockin a fanny pack for like 10 years. Simple black clip it on, spin it around to the back, no one even knows. It's hard to keep keys and a wallet and phone in pockets of basketball shorts.
Hey bro I’m Puerto Rican and we’ve been rockin the fanny pack since the 80’s!
Let’s go! 🇵🇷
Haven’t watched you in a while, life have been consuming me… But you look jacked, boss!! 💪🏻
Great video! Thanks, it’s another option and I have one too. Most people advocate for on body carry though like ASP
The macho guy haters are prob the same guys who can’t do a sit-up
I’m just glad to see you did a new video!!!😂
I have the bando xl and it fits my Glock 19x and keys and wallet. Love it.
Nice comeback for the waist carry😉
Cross body aint a terrible idea, round the waste is bold and only paired with white Reeboks
The sling bag is the best compromise between the fanny and backpack.
I even wear a chest rig when hiking. A good choice.
Thank you for the video! I have been looking into both companies for an EDC waist bag. Great information!
