Well done Mick, I found an 1842 Half Sov that was wrapped in sheet lead, thought it was rubbish until I saw a glint of gold and un wrapped a stunning coin. Always check flat lead .

Likewise.. We have been looking for a Sydney minted gold sovereign for years and the hard work finally paid off. Plenty of resurch into some old gold mining towns here in county Victoria ( Australia ) and we have found heaps of old English silvers relics etc now gold yaaa x

@@cointector heres hopin' cobber, here's hoping. I've got a permission I can only dig on after the crops are in. It starts again soon. The crops come off about end of Nov. Last year I scored a 1876, 1875, 1874 pennies and an 1853 halfa. Plus 3 cricket buckles. There's just gotta be more stuff there. Just gotta find it. But the height of the stubble is the issue. It's cut at about 10" so I use my 4500 with a big coil for depth.

I have a story about a bottle of Sov's that my dad got involved with, Someone hid them from her hubby back in the day and forgot where she hid them. My dad got involved in trying to look for them and he said it is 100% legit. I know the area so we will be searching for for some goldies soon. Just Subbed.

Awesome brad sounds like a great hunt. If they have buried them in a glass jar it would probably be a shit signal you’re chasing so I would dig most targets even the not so good sounding ones . Good luck would be awesome if you found them 👍

I found a half sovereign when I was a young boy where a new house was being built. It was sticking out of the clay and shining like a diamond,
Location was about 400 metres from the Eureka Stockade.

Some collectors pay upto $4000 for a good condition gold sov coz they DESPERATE to get as many as they can. They ALSO aware these gold sovs will be worth 8 times as much in less than 10 years LOL OOPS SECRET'S OUT 😆
