neeveekins Baby Shaun is different to old Shaun. Baby Shaun has many potential futures that depend on his upbringing. Old Shaun had his path laid out for him
+Alex Hooi Yep that was clear, I remember one asshole on Steam started to spoil it in the comments on every early review from users already playing from 9th November xD It was hilarious and sad at same time, he spammed it to everyone so it was impossible to don't read it, more harder to forget it but now I finally discovered from myself... Btw, I tried to kill Shaun but nothing happened to story XD I was excepting a "Time Paradox" like MGS3, but after killed him nobody even noticed it so i saved and try to come back to Commonwealth but no mentions on Shaun's death, wtf? XD
Tes Fallout I did too, but he's the founder of Institute, so he's the villain, plus he's not even surprised for his mother dead, so I shot him first time I saw him but nobody around noticed and just keep going...what's fun is even during the last mission (I choosed to Nuke the Institute with the Brotherhood of Steel) and guess what? His dead body was still there, i was WTF? XD
Illusion Spark beat the Institute ending, it explains everything: he does feel bad but remember he has been alive for so long he already dealt with the pain, The Institute is not evil what so ever they just are trying to rebuild humanity under ground with synths
how old was kellogg then? 60 + his age when he took shaun, sure he was part snyth due to technology enhancements. (edit: wish I never asked) (edit: how do you delete threads aaaa) (edit: please, this was a year ago. Im a changed man! I know why now, please stop with the messages and insults D: )
+Leyse Beard Both the thumbnail and the title only spoiled THAT you find him, nothing else. From that you could just as well assume you found his corpse or something. Watching this is really just your fault.
@@quarlalexis9082 it kinda makes rp hard, I liked the voiced protag cuz I hadn't played fallout before but now that I've played the other games I get where they're coming from
Sadly....I was expecting this scenario happening. Don't get me wrong Fallout 4 is a great game I am just disappointed in this being the big plot twist...
No in truth I was expecting this because it made sense logically. Shaun was removed from Cryo at an unspecified time and taken by certain group. We are frozen again for an unknown amount of time. If you were frozen longer than him no doubt we would see him as an adult. And if he was with the Institute for his entire life no doubt he learned and followed their beleifs
+Scott Price Yeah, none of my friends believed me when I predicted the twist before we saw this scene happen. Still an really enjoyable game like you said, but I wanted my expectation to be wrong :P
+Scott Price I thought he was going to be the eight year old kid we see with kellog. I didn't believe father either, since I found it strange Kellog would look the same that long. But then it's explained
+_Rakeial I plotted to destroy the institute after this chat, I was gonna murder the heads of all of the institute departments and Shaun at the same time, but there's another twist that happens that made me change my mind.
Father: He hasn't told you what happened to your son. Aedan: I know what you did. He said you took him. Father: No Aedan, I'M your son. Aedan: No! It's IMPOSSIBLEEEEE!!!!
I’ll admit, the first time I played through the game and experienced this, I was absolutely blown away. The writing, the plot twist, it was all spot on, and it was really thought provoking for my 13 year old self. But it goes from 100 to 0 as soon as you reach this point, and it has ZERO replayability value. Once you experience it once, the magic is gone, forever.
I really feel like the Sole Survivor was made to be female. I've done this section as the female protagonist. And her voice acting was so unique here. When I agreed to stay at the Institute, She gave a deep breath and a sigh... before agreeing. This one felt so... rushed..
I guess it's my bias for now. I'll finish my male character run within the following weeks to see it myself. But I was a tad disappointed in the male version of finding Shaun.
+Travis Gibbons Yep , I have both playthrough . Male (BoS) & Female (Institute) and my female character was very emotional . I also felt like this story was how a mother lost his son and not a father type kind of like .
I hate playthroughs where the user only chooses the "bottom choice" on the dialog wheel - which is always the "good" choice. Have some variety, get angry and mean sometimes. Even sarcastic.
I guess it's different with other people I rather hate it when people pick the angry and sarcastic choices makes them sound like a jackass really. Buts that probably do to me being a polite and open minded person.
I think he just wants the player to be different because in a real life scenario you wouldn't be able to be that good. But if the player is trying to get a specific ending then I can see why someone would play like that. Both sides have good arguments and I think that playing both ways is necessary to explore the whole game.
Specifically, JUST Shaun's but it would include many extreme similarities to the main characters and their spouse. That's why you were called 'the back up', in case something happened to Shaun.
2:57 "So yeah dude, I know you are in the middle of something... but I just wanted to remind you that you leveled up and can pick a new perk........................ ok bye." Damn pop-ups.
I created an imaginary sequence where my character shoots Shaun and goes on a rampage around the institute only for him to die and come back to the real world(aka I went back to my last save) where he's having this conversation with Shaun.
I have defeated the institute and BETRAYED shaun, but not for the brotherhood, FOR MY WIFE, FOR ALL THE "COLATERAL DAMAGE" THEY CAUSED IN THE SURFACE. Was my decision ok?
Accepting the fact that one day your kid will be an adult is one thing, but this... this is completely something else. How can he possibly cope with this after everything he'd already been through?
I actually have you to thank for this game. I came across your vids randomly and decided to give it a try. At first, I went through the presets hoping to get someone who looked like your Nate!
+ryan ruland Omg.... perfect idea: someone needs to take the "Shaun" sound files from Heavy Rain, mod them into Fallout 4, create a character that looks as similar as possible to Ethan, and press X to Shaun during this scene. xD I can imagine it now... "I am now it's lead-" "SHAUNNNNNNN!" "I'm sure you have-" "SHAUN!" "I am-" "SHAUNNN!"
This is such an emotional scene, I tear up every time. Seeing father and son, reunited after all these years, stand statically in front of each other, while one belts out awkward exposition...man, Bethesda really outdid themselves this time.
***** u must be like 12. Kid everyone saw it comming. It was obvious after u went frozen again he got older. Sorry if your so simple minded and can't even tactically think ahead of situations.
+Thomas Noorlander I remember making a joke to my friends that Shaun would be an old man since you fell back into cryo-stasis for a while. Turns out I was right.
Wouldn’t Shaun also have been exposed, having left Vault 111 with Kellogg and the Institute Scientist, before eventually going to the Institute? There had to be a time where he was exposed, as during Kellogg’s memories it shows him in a house, but not in the Institute.
The Institute can teleport, and everyone sans Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes in the opening cutscene is wearing a Radiation Suit. I have a feeling Kellogg is pretty much their Wasteland contact until he gets murked and replaced by you. Unless you go Minutemen/BoS on their asses.
I am so glad that I gave the institute a chance. The whole game up to that point paints them as the bad guys, but it only takes a couple missions to see that they are CLEARLY the good guys.
It's a very murky water to swim in to call them the "good guys". They kidnapped people from the commonwealth and replaced them with synths so they could experiment on them with f.e.v. Not the good guys in my book.
Matt Allen The Railroad are bad guys who don't realize they're bad guys. They THINK they're doing what's right, but they are potentially destroying the entire human race.
Lord Gaben I know we all got extremely emotionally attached to Paladin Danse, but think about it this way. If "judgement day" was looming in the near future and the only thing that could save humanity from a future synth control/extermination scenario, would they not want to destroy any and all machines? Bearing in mind that these are military tacticians, I think they are completely selfless in truly trying to save humanity, even if it means cleansing the brotherhood from the inside out.
when you visit Kellogg's memories, the last bit where Shaun is sitting on the floor if you listen to the radio you can hear Travis from the diamond city station talking about Piper. this means 1 of 2 things, either father is lying and is not actually Shaun or the game developers missed this
When you first see the memory log of Kellogg that includes 10 Year Old Shaun, the boy didn't have an accent. Neither does the Synth version of Shaun. Secondly if 60 years had passed then why has Kellogg retained the same age as he was when he had 10 year old Shaun? He looks much younger than Father when he should be dead. Most importantly, how could Father perfectly plan out that after 60 years he'd wake up your character, leave he/she to believe that 10 years had passed and admit that he didn't know you'd survive in the Commonwealth in finding him if he needed you so badly
+Iobagiu Raul-Manuel (Soimica) The ten year old Shaun you saw with Kellogg is the synth version of Shaun. In the memory Shaun says - "are you bringing me back to Father?" It seems that Father hadn't much interest in waking up your character until he became sick - he states when you meet him about thinking "what if" He wanted to know you.
+massive head-trauma bay Father makes this clear by telling you he let you out because he "supposed he wanted to see what would happen." those are his words.
***** you're thinking too hard about this. the fact is that he doubted you would even make it close to finding him. he basically treats you like an experiment.
i love villains who aren't all bad. like it's actually plausible to agree with them, their goals, and their point of view. to really empathize with them really makes any story (video game or not) much more meaningful and complex, in a good way

Baby Shaun is different to old Shaun. Baby Shaun has many potential futures that depend on his upbringing. Old Shaun had his path laid out for him
Arriving at The Institute was so...surreal. It felt like entering the afterlife in the strangest way.
Hate on Bethesda’s writing all you want, this was pretty good plot twist.
Shaun's the villain
You're welcome :')
XD
No he is not I beat the game
+Tes Fallout (The Vestige) Re-building a humanity with robots is quite wrong.
Codsworth and Dogmeat are the only family i have now
how old was kellogg then? 60 + his age when he took shaun, sure he was part snyth due to technology enhancements.
(edit: wish I never asked)
(edit: how do you delete threads aaaa)
(edit: please, this was a year ago. Im a changed man! I know why now, please stop with the messages and insults D: )

Thanks, my character isn't one for looking at old/restored terminals.
+DanaDuchy come on man stop uploading this kind of stuff I haven't even beatFallout4
+Leyse Beard then don't click play..... the title is pretty clear don't you think?
+Leyse Beard Both the thumbnail and the title only spoiled THAT you find him, nothing else. From that you could just as well assume you found his corpse or something. Watching this is really just your fault.
that moment when your son is wiser than you are
damn the voice acting of the sole survivor both male and female were just wow masterpiece I hope they keep the voiced protagonist on the next fallout
They probably won't considering not many people liked it.
@@quarlalexis9082 it kinda makes rp hard, I liked the voiced protag cuz I hadn't played fallout before but now that I've played the other games I get where they're coming from
this game would make one hell of a movie or tv show!
Here after five years 😮
It really happened😂
Sadly....I was expecting this scenario happening. Don't get me wrong Fallout 4 is a great game I am just disappointed in this being the big plot twist...
No in truth I was expecting this because it made sense logically. Shaun was removed from Cryo at an unspecified time and taken by certain group. We are frozen again for an unknown amount of time.
If you were frozen longer than him no doubt we would see him as an adult. And if he was with the Institute for his entire life no doubt he learned and followed their beleifs
These are theside effects of waiting almost a decade for a game negativity syndrome
My money was on Kellog being a Synth but he was the next best thing.
Kellogg frosted flakes!
That is what I was thinking
+U “BUNG THE BOOCE 89” WOT M8? Theyyyyre Great!
U WOT M8? ...
I would've denied everything
+_Rakeial I plotted to destroy the institute after this chat, I was gonna murder the heads of all of the institute departments and Shaun at the same time, but there's another twist that happens that made me change my mind.
Father: He hasn't told you what happened to your son.
Aedan: I know what you did. He said you took him.
Father: No Aedan, I'M your son.
Aedan: No! It's IMPOSSIBLEEEEE!!!!
Stormcloak Shreds omg
'Anything's possibleeeeeee' - Kevin garnett
"I don't know you!"
"Why you ungrateful little" *starts choking him like homer simpson*
Killing Shaun and adopting the synth is some rick and Morty shit
Fallout 3:finding your dad
Fallout 4:finding your son
Fallout New Vegas:finding who shot you
Wait. Father! Ah HELL NO! This isn't fma! You aren't making those homunculi! Except greed, you can make greed.
Hahaha
Ike Bran No matter how hard I tried I couldn't trust Shaun because of constant PTSD of smug clouds of edge in a flask
The first time that old guy walked through the doors I pulled out my rifle and had him in my sights. Woulda been awkward if I pulled the trigger
Fo3 : where's my father?
Fo4 : where's my son?
Fnv : who the fuck shoot my head? That asshole must pay
that child has some good voice acting
I really feel like the Sole Survivor was made to be female. I've done this section as the female protagonist. And her voice acting was so unique here. When I agreed to stay at the Institute, She gave a deep breath and a sigh... before agreeing. This one felt so... rushed..
Really? I find both voice actors to be pretty amazing :D like really well done and emotive. In comparison to the male shep in ME I mean
I guess it's my bias for now. I'll finish my male character run within the following weeks to see it myself. But I was a tad disappointed in the male version of finding Shaun.
+Travis Gibbons Yeah the female voice acting was better in my opinion.
+Travis Gibbons Yep , I have both playthrough . Male (BoS) & Female (Institute) and my female character was very emotional . I also felt like this story was how a mother lost his son and not a father type kind of like .
Try and hear the female end game dialogue. The part when she said she lost Shaun again literally shredded my heart.
I hate playthroughs where the user only chooses the "bottom choice" on the dialog wheel - which is always the "good" choice.
Have some variety, get angry and mean sometimes. Even sarcastic.
+Kevin Webb Getting aggressive doesn't solve anything.
I guess it's different with other people I rather hate it when people pick the angry and sarcastic choices makes them sound like a jackass really.
Buts that probably do to me being a polite and open minded person.
***** lmao
+Arcturus Blake that's a hilarious burn.
I think he just wants the player to be different because in a real life scenario you wouldn't be able to be that good. But if the player is trying to get a specific ending then I can see why someone would play like that. Both sides have good arguments and I think that playing both ways is necessary to explore the whole game.
I think this is a case for dr phill
Great vids, keep it up
Hi
@@FIZZY.YT. hi
I wonder how it would be like if your character were to read a bedtime story to Shaun (who is older than him). lol
DAMMIT I HAD TO GO AND SPOIL IT FOR MYSELF BUT I HAD TO.
Such a touching moment when your own son is telling you what old age brings.
So technically every synthetic human in the world is a part of or had the DNA the Sole Survivor they're wife or husband and Shaun?
Specifically, JUST Shaun's but it would include many extreme similarities to the main characters and their spouse. That's why you were called 'the back up', in case something happened to Shaun.
2:57 "So yeah dude, I know you are in the middle of something... but I just wanted to remind you that you leveled up and can pick a new perk........................ ok bye." Damn pop-ups.
I created an imaginary sequence where my character shoots Shaun and goes on a rampage around the institute only for him to die and come back to the real world(aka I went back to my last save) where he's having this conversation with Shaun.
Star Wars: IM YOUR FATHER, Fallout 4: I AM YOUR SON
I was wearing power armor during this so he showed none of the emotions and it made the scene where he mistakes the robot for Sean look funnier.
2:55 "it was not ten but sity years" you leveled up!
The "Where's my son." option is my favorite.
I have defeated the institute and BETRAYED shaun, but not for the brotherhood, FOR MY WIFE, FOR ALL THE "COLATERAL DAMAGE" THEY CAUSED IN THE SURFACE. Was my decision ok?
Here mate calm down, just a game...😅
I agreen not for brotherhood. but now revenge for wifu
Don't worry I killed Kellogg and shouted "Never liked your fucking frosted mini wheats you son of a bitch." :P
i really want to sleep in a bed made of shauns Voice
Hot
Accepting the fact that one day your kid will be an adult is one thing, but this... this is completely something else.
How can he possibly cope with this after everything he'd already been through?
Fallout 3: finding your father
Fallout 4: also searching for your father
Imean Son
I actually have you to thank for this game. I came across your vids randomly and decided to give it a try. At first, I went through the presets hoping to get someone who looked like your Nate!
Your character looks like ethan fromheavy rain
+ryan ruland I thought the same thing
+ryan ruland SHAAAAAAUN! SHAAAAAUN! SHAAAAAAAAAAAAUN!!!!!
right
+ryan ruland Omg.... perfect idea: someone needs to take the "Shaun" sound files from Heavy Rain, mod them into Fallout 4, create a character that looks as similar as possible to Ethan, and press X to Shaun during this scene. xD I can imagine it now...
"I am now it's lead-"
"SHAUNNNNNNN!"
"I'm sure you have-"
"SHAUN!"
"I am-"
"SHAUNNN!"
Repent In Reprise PointlessTable There's actually a mod somewhat similar to that
Who would care about Shawn when Preston Garvey needs help saving another settlement
That moment when ur son is older than you
+Burnarama and your son too .-.
+Burnarama that's the newest way to keep ur skin fresh and new when gettin old, women would love this
+Burnarama So is Shaun...
The next fallout: looking for your cat
Lol
Damn I want this game so bad
So why did you watch this ultimate spoiler video..
+Gabe Newell Temptation...
+Gabe Newell because to some the story doesnt matter, but rather the physical gameplay
+Gabe Newell or buy it on steam
Wait up.
Shawn is a Synth!
This is such an emotional scene, I tear up every time. Seeing father and son, reunited after all these years, stand statically in front of each other, while one belts out awkward exposition...man, Bethesda really outdid themselves this time.
XD
Plot twist your son in fallout 4 is your dad in fallout 3
Only bethesda will create scenes where people talk this long standing up while there are chairs near
This wasn't really surprising
I knew Shaun was either going to be a super villain or a super hero
Biggest mindfuck since fightclub
actually a lot of ppl saw it coming even I did.
***** u must be like 12. Kid everyone saw it comming. It was obvious after u went frozen again he got older. Sorry if your so simple minded and can't even tactically think ahead of situations.
+Sean Legghette all my friends saw it. so actually yes was obvious
+H0ll0w360 Shutup and stop insulting people for being surprised by a spoiler.
+Thomas Noorlander I remember making a joke to my friends that Shaun would be an old man since you fell back into cryo-stasis for a while. Turns out I was right.
This scene is so much more powerful if you're actually a parent in real life. This cuts you a lot more deeply....
After i encounterd shaun and showing no emotion about his mother nor his father (me) i decided that he changed so far that i dont know him anymore
I feel like shaun is not that old. In fact I think he is somewhere else
When you first wake up it has been 140 years then when you get frozen again its been 60 years lol he is that old
Wouldn’t Shaun also have been exposed, having left Vault 111 with Kellogg and the Institute Scientist, before eventually going to the Institute? There had to be a time where he was exposed, as during Kellogg’s memories it shows him in a house, but not in the Institute.
The Institute can teleport, and everyone sans Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes in the opening cutscene is wearing a Radiation Suit. I have a feeling Kellogg is pretty much their Wasteland contact until he gets murked and replaced by you. Unless you go Minutemen/BoS on their asses.
4:17 The fate of my latest save file >:(
I am so glad that I gave the institute a chance.
+Andrew Clark I thought the same thing. But , even the brotherhood has it's downs seeing what they wanted you to do to paladin danse
+Arcturus Blake Railroaad and Miniutemen are the only good guys really.
Matt Allen
The Railroad are bad guys who don't realize they're bad guys.
Bearing in mind that these are military tacticians, I think they are completely selfless in truly trying to save humanity, even if it means cleansing the brotherhood from the inside out.
when you visit Kellogg's memories, the last bit where Shaun is sitting on the floor if you listen to the radio you can hear Travis from the diamond city station talking about Piper. this means 1 of 2 things, either father is lying and is not actually Shaun or the game developers missed this
+Kruegz97 That Shaun was the fake one.
+Reavenator ah that makes sense
Reminds me of Interstellar!
+Iobagiu Raul-Manuel (Soimica)
The ten year old Shaun you saw with Kellogg is the synth version of Shaun.
***** you're thinking too hard about this. the fact is that he doubted you would even make it close to finding him. he basically treats you like an experiment.
so sad...
dude open up your pip boy you leveled up
i love villains who aren't all bad. like it's actually plausible to agree with them, their goals, and their point of view. to really empathize with them
really makes any story (video game or not) much more meaningful and complex, in a good way
father kinda looks like James (Your actual father) from Fallout 3.
Yeah kinda
Father kinda sounds like eno Cordova from the Star Wars Jedi games
You could've easily find him just shouting in the middle of the wasteland...
SHAAAAAUUUUN! SHAUN! SHAAAAAUUUUUUN!
JAAASOOOOON!
You've leveled up! Pick a new perk in the Pip-Boy.
