Why they in their no.2s?
First likeeee 💂💂
Just wondering why the grenadiers where wearing their no2 dress uniform with the bear skinned hats. Assuming this was filmed in the summer wouldn’t they be wearing their scarlet tunics, not a dig I’m just genuinely curious.
What temperature was it that day??
@@lizardninja007 I saw a couple of people say it was 27C which is around 80’ish Fahrenheit. I can tolerate 80 as long as it isn’t humid or standing in the sun and not wearing long sleeves
@@charlottecunningham2141 that temperature sounds so nice - we just had 95 degrees with a feel-like temp of 112 the other day. But 80ish is probably just a lil too hot for the Brits.
I have lived in hot countries all my life. Heat kills people.
Saw the police officers drinking water but not offering the soldiers any
The Army has its own system. Nobody's being nasty to anyone.
@@Insperato62 pleased to hear that Thank you
Traditions are a good thing but common logic is a much better thing. From May to September they could adopt the hats of either Australia or New Zealand.
I still find the display of the Japanese flag in the UK disconcerting after Japan's WW2 War crimes against UK and colonial troops. I think WW2 veterans lined the route to the Palace with their backs turned, when the emperor visited after the war.
Ammo boots dont help either, feet go numb if your stood still for to long
Q- 7:29 soldier has a beard, is that allowed now?
All for what? A King and a Queen? What year are we in?
I know right?! So many people, mostly women especially older ones turn into thumb sucking toddlers when we "dare say such things."
We should be in the dark ages considering how many adulterers and traitors have been allowed to skate through and some solidify their space in the family with impunity. Their whole "religion" was just a quick rip off of Catholicism in order for adultery to be allowed anyway.
I bet somebody said the same thing in 1955. These traditions are centuries old.
The British have a right to keep what little is left of their culture and traditions. Those who refuse to accept this need to bugger off.
Sargent watch where you're pointing that bayonet.
So sad too watch 😢😢
thats an embarassing bull shit. Absolutly no respect for the service, the health and dignity of these poor man.
Its all about good housekeeping .. if a Guardsman has had breakfast and hydrated before ceremonial duties he should be good to go..i was a foot Guard and had no issues as i made sure my blood sugars werent low and i was properly hydrated .. its all down to personal management.. remember the brigade of Guards have been doing this a few years now come rain or shine 💂
So what you are effectively saying is that these boys have only two choices : either drink loads of fluids and risk holding a piss for hours on end or drink moderate amount of liquids and deal with scorching heat and eventually wither out like is the case all on account of not being issued an appropriate sumer uniform and to wear bear fur hats on top of everything. You sir are full of beans 🫘
You guys need water bottles like the football players use. A water boy “ could walk along and give them water.
@@BrownEyedGirl56 I’d like to be a, “water grandma,” and ride a bike but that would cause a lot of pearl clutching amongst the masses
@@charlottecunningham2141 I love that idea!
Dogs wouldn't be left out in this weather.
Do they get penalised for collapsing
They are not penalized! Only if it is proven that there was negligence on the part of the guard! If they are on sentry duty, they are replaced if they become ill! If they are in parade, they have a specific way to fall and they wait to be helped!
Not if they fall straight
I *absolutely* LOVE all the Kings Guards, BUT...It's utterly insane that they're made to stand there, year after year, feinting after feinting and literally NOTHING is done about the gear they wear. The same gear that CLEARLY causes this. YOU DON'T FEINT FROM WEARING LIGHT GEAR IN WARM WEATHER. The idiots who make the rules are to blame for this.
Do they still wear those fur hats when they go into battle ?
NO NO NO they do not
Not since the Crimean War or Queen Victoria's times.
As long as they fall to attention no one will notice
Eine Tradition die längst hätte abgeschafft werden sollen 😁
was this filmed today?
Yes it was
Why get there so early ? Arrive later maybe ?
Ich Denkmal kein Frühstück und zu warm!!
When it's too hot at the white house the marine guard does not stand outside the oval office.. use a little common sense
So are they just ceremonial? Or do they guard from somewhere else?
@@kimberlywoodbury1739 doing guard duty wherever
Surely There should be a time when they can remove head dress an drink some water . Effin ridiculous in this heat .
I'm an ex soldier, I wasn't in the guards but like the guards my regiment had historical traditions, u ask why they where them, because its there biggest honor
Honour is well dead with these current generations. All a suaddy cares about in reality is either getting bozzed up. Buying yet another car on hp, tattoos. Driving home or the weekend for all of the above. Those left from the 80s and 90s still carry with them some of that drilled into them and that's why this nonsense seems to work and convince people watching on tv. But there are few who really care much about d day sacrifice or some funeral or royal event. Except the miniorty of zealots as in any group.
Utter nonsense to not adapt to the future and try something new and radical what with numbers dwindling. Relics and dinosaurs eventually go extinct. Might as well just have an all in one does everything security force
Outrageous that these stupid tourist traditions are inflicted on our military.
All Guards I've been instructed by have only ever worn peaked caps, bearskin and No2 dress doesnt look right anyway - should be peaked caps.
Why are they out there in that heat?
@@madeleinegombert661 foreign dignitary in town drive by
“ Only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun “ . Hmmm, seems senseless tradition still takes precedence over commonsense
why are they not in their red tunics?
Бедные военные зажарились под солнцем
Been there, done that. Solution, don't get pissed the night before and learn to relax.
Or perhaps change centuries of senseless tradition and stop treating personnel as disposable cannon fodder .
These poor soldiers’ health being sacrificed for what??? Bearskin headwear…R u serious?? Change the headgear for the summer as sensible people have been saying. COME ON.
Nothing, they were out on the lash the night before and haven’t had enough water. Textbook.
Micks need to do some sit-ups.
