    I've been doing through this for 4 months now. It sucks. I have 5 kids, 2 dogs and a husband. None of them seems to understand or care. It got so bad at one point that I told God to just hurry up and come get me...lol. I'm laughing now but this sucks more than I can possibly explain. Thanks for making this video. It really has encouraged me because I spent most of this morning crying. I'm so tired of feeling like this but I'm encouraged that it will get better.

      +FlixChick It's ok, I have had it for over a week now and it's not easy because I have missed work for a week and my parents do not see how it affects me unless I have trouble moving or cant get up.

    Hey thanks for posting the video. I was diagnosed with Labyrinthitis approx. 17 years ago. I get prescribed Prochloroperazine whenever my dizziness appears and it usually clears up within 3-4 weeks (sometimes sooner/sometimes longer). Have been symptom free for about 3 years now (touch wood lol) and long may it continue. Hope yours also clears up for a good spell like mine cos it really does suck! From a Scot in Scotland

    I was diagnosed with this about a year and a half ago. Mine, if it had been around longer, went unnoticed until I had a severe attack at work, which felled me like a poled ox. NO sense of balance at all -- like being three sheets to the wind on board a ship in a high sea. Even lying still, things were constantly spinning. Couldn't keep anything down; dry-heaving for over five hours, etc. A trip to the emergency room (no one knew what it was originally) which ended up costing about $10,000 -- which I'm still paying off, and will be for a long time. Several days in bed... and then it seemed to fade away. Only with seeing your video have I been made aware of some of the other effects, things which I have been experiencing and not aware may be related to this (heart palpitations, anxiety attacks, increased depression, etc.); that they may be is useful information. At least it gives me a place to start, as so far these haven't been pegged to any other condition. (I hasten to add that these, in my case, are not generally severe -- occasionally so, but infrequently -- so that they don't cause me near the level of problems they seem to have been causing you; you have my sympathy and best wishes on this).
    Anyway, thanks for putting this information out there; I have no doubt it will be helpful to a surprisingly large number of people. You've done a good thing here; you deserve credit and all the thanks you will receive....

    Diagnosed with vestibular neuritis that happened completely out of the blue. I was totally healthy with ZERO other Stanton’s. At 2pm one day my world started spinning and didn’t slow down for 3days. Thought I was losing it. Couldn’t walk or really function. Nausea etc.
    After 3 doctors, finally a specialist diagnosed it and put me on prednisone to reduce inflammation.
    Specialist gave me a program for rehab exercises. I didn’t believe it would improve. All the thoughts running through my head about it being permanent.
    So far after 3 weeks it’s dramatically improved. Still have the “weirdness” but no real spinning. Just “streaking” from the eye trying to focus.
    The exercises to help and it gets better day by day (even though you won’t believe it). Hang in there and work at it everyday.

    and how are you doing currently? I just had an ENG test and my ent doc said most likely I had some virus that caused me to get real dizzy for 3-4 months. I still get lightheaded occasionally though not as severe where I get irritable and slightly confused. He said the virus is prob gone & body is adjusting. My inner canals were affected causing me to be unsteady. He said time will heal. No med prescribed cause I am @ end of this. Just exercise more. It still depresses me when it happens. Thanks

    I've had this for about 2 months now. It all started with waking up to full blown Vertigo one morning and about a week later after that had passed, I was left with this dizziness that seemed to always be there, but not so bad sometimes and pretty bad others. It seems like the more i move around, like walking or driving, the more i get dizzy. I'm so sick of it. I've tried Antibiotics, Coticosterioids and my only saving grace is I'm seeing people take allergy meds such as Sudafed. I'm going to try that next. It's really hard to focus sometimes.

    • @Mark1Mach2
      @Mark1Mach2 8 лет назад

      Hi Joel, these are pretty much my symptoms - the more I move around, the more it effects, hard to concentrate, very foggy headed. I have had it for 2-3 months.
      How are you doing now, any improvement?

    • @chimpchimperton
      @chimpchimperton 8 лет назад +1

      Hey. I found that caffeine and alcohol really aggregated my symptoms, so once i cut those way down I'm doing way better. I still haven't been 100% since, though.

  • @MegaRoryP

    Thanks Mark. I'm on month 8 and, although better, the symptoms are still there. I am off all meds now though, which is great. What are the exercises you refer to? I haven't been given any and have seen neurologists as well as ENT physicians.
    Thanks!

    Hey guys, if any of you feel as though you have heart trouble (strange beats, arrythmia etc) get this checked out. Doctors will often lazily diagnose labyrinthitis if they don't want to bother investigating your symptoms. Vertigo and similar balance problems can be caused by interrupted blood flow to the head - many of you might assume that labs causes heart problems, but if you really think about it, how can labs do that? Sure, it can make your heart rate increase, but heart arrythmias? Nope! So that's my advice - consider that maybe it's your heart affecting other systems rather than the other way around - it would be a shame if some of you accept labs and live like this is you have a heart prob that can be treated, or a vascular problem restricting blood flow to the brain. Make sure your doctor a) checks out your heart (and I mean sends you for imaging - your doc can only tell so much by listening to it with a steth) and b) sends you for a CTA/MRA of your neck and brain. Good luck!

    • @flixchick9639
      @flixchick9639 8 лет назад

      You're right. I went to a good urgent care and they did an ekg before diagnosing me with labyrinthitis.

    • @madeinuk68
      @madeinuk68 7 лет назад

      Corey Commins I know I am a bit late to respond to this,but a lot of people that get labyrinthitus seem to also suffer with anxiety. And anxiety can cause you to have heart palpitations,so indirectly the two could be connected. I do agree though that it is a worrying symptom,and probably should be investigated further.

    I got this about a week ago it's god awful throwing up, I thought I was losing my mind.My BP at Er through the roof heart racing into tachardia. Doc explained to me it's a virus inside your neurogical system. in your ear. The first day I had it had to crawl on hands and knees out of the shower to avoid falling.The movement of objects like wall seems it's like in a wave motion was given advert doesnt help just started the steroid for inflammation.But anyways Merry Christmas to everyone and stay strong through this cause it's truly God awful experience. One more thing doc did mention a surgery that can be done as a last resort the outcome on these surgeries been pretty good.

    Thank you for this video. I am dealing with this condition now and it is challenging. Heart palpitations freak me out. how are you doing now?

  • @akawhippy
    @akawhippy 8 лет назад

    You get heart palpitations because you go into panic mode. The vertigo or dizziness causes you to get scared because you feel like you're gonna lose your balance. I suffer from this too. And it feels horribly awful. Although mine occurs in between months or years.

    I have had this since I was 5 years old. No one has diagnosed me even though I went through all the MRI and CTs. I saw a neurologist.
    They just said it was all in my head and I would grow out of it.
    Well. I am 30 now and I have episodes at least 2-3 times a year. Although after I have them I seem perfectly fine till the next one hits. In them I can't move I can't breathe hardly I throw up a lot. I can't stand the dizziness. I can't see the other side of this. I have lost hope I will ever be fully better.

    • @BeaRam-jg5ec
      @BeaRam-jg5ec 5 лет назад

      You need to go to an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist who has an audiologist in the practice ai they can do a VNG tests, which is a test of the inner ear. The test will reveal how much damage you have in the affected ear (nerve or labyrinths).

    I think juicing is great because it will boost the immune system and help. My ENT Doctor said it might take me 3 months to feel completely better I was given Vit B complex pills and some meds for the dizziness. I wish everyone who has this good luck.

      Doing a bit better, but still far from where I'd like to be. I'm heading into my 6th month. My main symptoms are a distortion of perception (head in a fishbowl feeling), some lightheadedness (swimmy head, elevator feeling) , brain fog , anxiety, depression, floating sensation. Some of these have gotten better though. My Balance is pretty much back to normal and brain fog is much better. How long have you been sick?
      Have you been tested for inner ear damage? I'm just getting around to seeing an ENT. I also have tmj, which could be a cause, but I recently found out through CT scans that my cervical vertebrae isn't aligned well. So I'm trying to narrow down my cause.

    It's been close to a month since I was diagnosed with labyrinthitis I have recovered greatly but I'm experiencing something called autophony where I hear myself louder when I talk on the ear that was affected. Did you get this? Or do you still have it? One problem I have is when I listen to music and I hear the bass the thump noise makes contact with the right ear than the left ear which is the affected one. Did this happen to you? Or does it happen to you still . If so how long does it take to get better or how long does it take to get use too . Because I would really like to jam to the music I listened to like use to. But my ent said there's a Chance that it may stay that way but only time will tell which I think blows
