My Dad lived near the location of the Karpis arrest. Pop (19 yo at the time) saw the arrest in 1936 from across the street (Canal Street, New Orleans, La.) while on an errand for his mother.
Read his book, he says Ma Barker had nothing to do with the crimes of the Barker Karpis gang. She just worked jigsaw puzzles and just went where they went. Not a mastermind at all.

Just a few years before this interview, Karpis taught a young Charles Manson how to play guitar at the McNeil Island Federal Penitentiary.

The book ,took me here. Im Lithuanian guy , It's fun to know that one of the most bad ass ppl in America, was from Lithuanian family.
