    Thanks for the video, great stuff. I've not tried to cast to the clip cos I'm concerned about the actual casting technique, like when you bring the rod back and how you control the feeder into the water. Perhaps you could cover this in a video please? Cheer John

    Having difficulty in threading the line through the rings of my feeder road, confined to a wheelchair following a stroke in 2019 my left hand shAkes the rod it took me over an hour to thread the line and attach the method feeder which lasted 3casts I then hit a snag so far I’ve threaded the line took 50 minutes,I hope to get the feeder on tomorrow!!!

      Barry why don’t you keep your rods made up with the feeders still on like I do. So that you aren’t going through that every time ? I bet it’s frustrating struggling like that, keep soldiering on 💪🏻🎣

      @@WestysAngling I do keep them made up but when you get broken and you have to start all over again , I’m using 8lb main and 5.5lb hook line, unless one of my fishing buddies pops in it leaves me struggling rod do it , I’m down to my last two method feeders, I spent most of his afternoon connecting the feeder to the end of the line it took me over an hour to thread the line through the feeder tubing and another 30 minutes to connect hook to the swivel, I love using a feeder but everything is so fiddly to set it up

    I'm just getting back into fishing and found you on RUclips . Your video's are among the best out there and have really helped me get information on the latest techniques and equipment that are currently being used. When you buy the Preston banjo feeders do they come with the elastic already attached to the attachment bead?

    • @WestysAngling
      @WestysAngling  Год назад

      That’s really nice uk hear David ! I am glad they have been of help to you. Yes they do come with the elastic already in the stem but you will struggle to find them now. It’s a discontinued product. Look at the guru feeders with elasticated stems. Go for something around 30-40g !

    • @WestysAngling
      @WestysAngling  2 года назад

      I agree with this, I think the worlds gone too focused on bigger and better. In a lot of ways it’s takes the fun out of the just going out fishing part. Especially for the young ones just getting into it . They may not be able to go for overnight sessions on carp waters. As you probably know you can have just as much sport with a 10lb carp on light tackle 👍🏻

    • @ApexFeeder
      @ApexFeeder 2 года назад +1

      In feeder fishing i always use the clip for accuracy and more presentations , never had any problem even with larger specimens . indeed sometimes can back fire but rarely . if the venue that you fish on has more population of bigger fish , you can use pole elastic on the clip for fast release or line marker . For me feeder fishing is all about the clip .

    • @WestysAngling
      @WestysAngling  2 года назад +1

      Hi Rob ! Thanks for commenting ! Clipping up is where you get your casting distance right then put your line round the little ‘clip’ on your reel/pool , then close your bail arm. Then when you cast in the next time it will stop at this clip and land on the same spot 👌🏻👍🏻 hope that’s helps. Sometimes the clip on your reel will be a round pin or a triangle shape . Cheers buddy

    should be pulling your rod back up and holding it vertical after cast till it hits the clip , Other wise it's too tight and you have to pull line out like you did , 2oz tip is too heavy in my eyes 1oz all the way nothing to do with the weight of your feeders that's to do with the casting weight of your rods allowance .

    • @WestysAngling
      @WestysAngling  Год назад +1

      I don’t clip up, you haven’t got a chance if you hook anything decent in my opinion. I agree though my casting needs work 🤣

    Supposed to riddle the Groundbait before you add the micros.
    Otherwise when you riddle, the ground bait will pass through and you will end up with the micros in the riddle.
    Why are you saying
    Wof - ters when they are Waf - ters.
    Read the label its Wafters.

    • @WestysAngling
      @WestysAngling  6 месяцев назад +1

      2mm’s go straight through that riddle Ian no problem, I just find it faster sometimes than mixing two lots. WOfters because I’m northern 😂 it’s just the Chorley accent I guess ! Tight lines buddy 🎣

    • @WestysAngling
      @WestysAngling  Год назад

      No problem! Wafters are like pop-up boilies if you have those. But they are critically balanced against the weight of the hook so that they slowly sink through the water. Causing a wafting effect when the fish are feeding on the feeder 👌🏻🎣
