How to FIX all Google Chromecast ERRORs! Factory Reset, Can't find, unable to connect to wifi, etc

- This is how to fix ALL errors related to pairing with Google Chromecast 1st gen, google chrome cast 2nd, google audio, google ultra.
STEPS:
1) hold down button for 25-30 seconds
2) download google home (chromecast) app
3) set up as usual
4) like video and comment if you had any problems or if it worked

OK FIXED IT !!!! YES !!!! after three weeks of NO CAST DEVICES FOUND. Was ready to pitch both Chromecast units in the garbage. I got error on Win 10 laptop, and all phones had stopped working. NO CAST DEVICES FOUND NO CAST DEVICES FOUND for everything I tried from a zillion forums.
Finally from another forum, I got the inspiration that it was really a router problem. I went into my router setup and from the extensive device list shown, I copied down the unique MAC address of each Chromecast unit. (This is hardwired into each Chromecast unit) Then I went into my router setup. On my router setup screen, I went to HOME NETWORK>MAC FILTERING, then manually ADD both of my Chromecast MAC addresses. I didn't even have to reboot my router.! It found the Chromecast devices nearly instantaneously..All laptops and phones now work. I love the internet.

My device doesn't look like the one you show, but since you said the same instructions applied, I PERSISTED!! :-) Followed the instructions on my TV and the only problem I had finishing the set up was because I'd changed my password -- DOH!! Once I figured that out, ALL WAS GOOD!! Thanks again for giving me the boost to get it fixed myself!!
Very useful video. I was struggling to change WIFI on my chromecast due to change in router as there was no clear response in many sites including chromecast help. This video helped me and resolve this issue real quick by just resetting the chromecast and completing the setup process in 5mts..thanks for the help.

Pressing and holding the button on the outside of the ChromeCast device FIXED MY PROBLEM. Thank you bud. Thumbs up and all that.
After I reset my Chromecast It went through and did the colorful G but then the screen was just black and it did not go to the set up screen

Hi @TechBrah I'm trying to fix it, I have the exact same model of Chromecast (1st gen) but mine always shows a solid white LED, it never changes, no matter how long I hold the reset button. Any idea?
Thanks 🙏🏽 didn’t know the 2nd generation had a reset button. If we have to reset again, probably going to switch to Apple TV

Mine also worked! Did a couple of things in MI ROUTER 3C to get it connected finally! 😁😁 added mac address manually,turned off uPnp,Added DHCP Static IP of chromecast mac address

I am having the same problem. I’ve tried turning it off as the chromecast gets really hot. Turned off modem and unplugged it letting it cool down. Try again see if that works for you.

@@hernan44 Yes I did, I took my charger port it came withand connect my Ethernet wire in it and plugged it into my Chromecast and it worked but it won't wirelessly no more.
SAME i figured out the problem by doing it on a google device. i used a pixel to do it
Thanks! I'd just installed a new wifi system and couldn't get my Chromecast set up to access it properly. The RESET fixed this so I could go ahead and reset my Chromecast from scratch.

I bought chromcast from USA 5 years back & I installed it without google home app. The setup done thru my PC as well on my mobile. Now from 2 to 3 months it stopped working. I tried a lot to set it but it shows no devices found. I also checked my WI FI network. The WI FI network is ok. should I throw the chromcast in DUSTBIN ?
Mine says that it connected successfully but the connection between the chrome cast and Wi-Fi are not linked and that I have to switch off the AP isolation

So, what do you do when you press the reset button and the red light stays red solid no matter how long you hold the reset button. Mine was working fine for years but now will not detect or reset with a new TV

Great video but i am still having problems.. I already had chromecast working.. But it was slow.. Anyway after about 4 months a purchase a wifi booster.. Steup goes well.. But at the end it says. Chromecast has been setup but cant be found?? Help anybody?

Hi, did everything mention in the video but still at the end tells me that the "móvil can't connect with the chromecast, verify if the devices are connected to the same network". Got al the process of instalation, everything telling me That got "connected", all OK "you're done, now you can use your device" (something like that) then "next" and tells me that there's no connection between the devises.

Hi . I have a new chromecast device what my cousin bought from US and I was using it till last week. Suddenly it's not connecting to my WiFi router.. I have tried to reset the device updating the app but nothing works.. At the time of setting up the device through android app.. It's showing an error as "the manufacturer country is different and this may not support your WiFi connection" it's detecting all other WiFi routers available in my building except mine. Please help

Any advice for someone who can’t get past the welcome screen? The google app will not recognise my device at all! I’ve reset it so many times and it just won’t pick it up.
What is going on here? I can watch You Tube on Chromecast from my iPad without problem. But from iPhone attempting to cast You Tube fails to bring up my location (e.g. Living Room). To get this to work I always have to cast Netflix, which does see the location. After pausing the Netflix cast I can then return to You Tube which will now show the location so I can finally cast the You Tube video. I’ve been needing to do this for months now. A chromecast device reset or iPhone reset doesn’t fix this. Any ideas?

How do you fix audio lag? My video will play then it starts bugging out and the audio isn’t in sync .
so all of a sudden my chromecast does not appear as to connect to wifi. I have done full factory reset and gone through the processing of setting up on google home. It pops up with "connected then i get the error message "Something went wrong - Living room TV may be set up but we could not communicate with it from your iphone. Make sure that you have enabled local network access in your iphone's privacy settings then try again." Of course I have done all of this - any ideas?

I have video but no audio... The cable box audio is playing even though I've changed the hdmi port using the input on the tv remote. ... also... I can cast youtube and have video but no audio.... When I try to cast frank speech, I have only a box in the center of the tv

It actually works!!!
Steps to fix chrome cast
- type in "chrome://flags" (in the URL)
- There’s a search bar at the top beside the magnifying glass. Search for the flag "Connect to Cast devices on all IP addresses". Change it from Default to Enabled.
- Do the same with "WebRTC new encode cpu load estimator" and "Load Media Router Component Extension."

My Chromecast keeps blinking white, I have it plugged into wall outlet, then held the reset button and a solid red light comes on, then kept holding and a blinking light comes on. At first, it was only transmitting audio to TV, so I decided to factory reset and now it’s a blinking white light. I’ve a MacBook Air and it won’t detect my 1st Gen Chromecast when connected via USB. Please help.

If you got a problem like "your chromecast was set up successfully but can't be found" just try to reset (turn off and on) your modem first. worked for me!
That worked for me too, but when swicht off my TV and swiht on again my Chromecast can't connect again to mi wi-fi. Did u have that problem? Or working normal after switching off Ur TV ?
I figure it out, if you click the chromecast logo in every video you clicked, and it wont connect, go to RUclips setting click play tv, and link the device of your Chromecast. And boom done

NOPE, nothing!! I have went through EVERY step, modem restart waiting, factory reset just like you did here, and nothing. It isn’t my WiFi, or anything else that I can see. I wanted to be able to cast from my laptop again. Before, I could still cast from my phone. So I disconnected from my TV. Great idea. Now nothing works, and no one has an answer. I give up. It would seem it is trashed now. It worked fine before. I have all the updated software as well. Nothing. I think I’m asking for a miracle at this point. Just done!!

Not a geek here but I've read somewhere that the electrical plug has to be direct and not a power strip (sometimes). I have to wiggle the prongs a bit sometimes to get the light to come on.
I've had this problem for WEEKS and I was able to fix it....

@@kerosenface Do you have a vpn? A VPN is a separate service and isn't anything you get with your tv or chromecast.
I say this, because if you have a vpn, you can easily turn it on and off at the push of a button from the app of the service you're using(such as nordvpn, expressvpn, etc.)

okay so i followed this but the problem with mine is when i download the google home app i search for my chrome cast it keeps saying no device found ;(

There is a reset button on the chromecast. You need to hold that button down for about 10 seconds or so until the light turns back to white.
I've reset mine and it shows up until the last step, then it stops and won't pair even though it's on the same network, shouldn't be this problematic.
