Eduardo first noticed that something was wrong while on his way to get a physical exam for a new job. He’d stopped for a bite to eat at Burger King, and his stomach seared in pain long after he’d finished his meal.
After that incident, Eduardo began to rapidly lose weight. He shed around 10 pounds per month without changing his lifestyle. He also noticed that he’d get full quickly and that his stomach almost always hurt after eating. His doctor figured he had a case of gastritis. The doctor prescribed some antacid pills, and while those worked initially, his issues started to get worse after a couple of months on the medication. The doctor switched Eduardo’s pills and ordered an h.pylori test (which came back negative).
After another two months of struggles, Eduardo’s doctor ordered an endoscopy. This test revealed that he had stomach cancer. The gastroenterologist said he was at stage 3.
Eduardo would need six months of chemotherapy as well as a gastrectomy. He started to prepare himself for what lay ahead, but he didn’t have long to make plans since they revised his diagnosis to stage 4. This completely changed their approach.
The first oncologist that Eduardo worked with wasn’t optimistic, so he sought out a second opinion. The current oncologist started Eduardo on a treatment plan that involved FOLFOX and immunotherapy. After three months of chemo, Eduardo had a fantastic scan that led him to him being declared NED. This was encouraging news, but Eduardo had a laparoscopic surgery shortly after that revealed a few other masses. His treatment wasn’t finished yet, but thankfully, their approach was working well. Eduardo did four rounds of immunotherapy, and he has now switched to his second line of treatments. His oncologist plans to do PET scans at certain milestones to see if there is enough change for Eduardo to have HIPEC and surgery.
Eduardo hopes that research will lead to screenings and tests, particularly for young people. He emphasizes the importance of being positive and celebrating small wins along the way. Eduardo is also very grateful for the support he receives from friends and family.
Thank you for sharing ❤. I’m tired of hearing all these stories about how the Dr thinks the patients are to young. They need to stop thinking it’s only in older patients. Those days are gone. Praying for you 🙏🙏🙏
Stage 3 stomach cancer. Sending you all the healing energy.
God Bless you! I am a two time cancer survivor (lung and cervical). Stay strong!!!
❤🙏
Congrats - how did you survive Lung cancer??
It was discovered on a CT scan of my colon, believe it or not. My colon was clear, but it showed my lungs. I had a small tumor. I was and still am a runner. didn't smoke. whatever. anyone can get lung cancer. I had a lobectomy then chemo. Lung cancer does not have to be a death sentence. I was lucky it was found before any symptoms. I plan on running a half marathon in April.
These doctors have got to realize that young people also get cancer. Do the correct test to begin with and try to catch it early. God bless you. Many prayers to you.
RIP Eddie, you fought hard and brought awareness for other young people. You will truly be missed brother 🕊️🕊️🕊️
Valiant man. Thank you for your story.

I am so sorry that you have been dealt this hand in life, You don't deserve any of it. Sharing your story Eduardo is brave and helps others. I have faith that you will get through this.💙
I am very sorry that it took so long for the doctor to investigate further. I pray that with the chemo treatments you will be healed. God bless you.🙏
I'm a stage 4 anal cancer survivor.I got the runaround from a doctor for 2 years doing 2 colonoscopies .He claimed I was just fat . Meanwhile I had heavy bleeding in my stool. Finally I got a new doctor to do a colonoscopy and he instantly found my cancer but misdiagnosed me with rectal cancer instead of anal cancer.Thankfully before any treatments or surgery my husband demanded I be sent to another doctor for a second opinion.Thank god he did because it was then I received a proper diagnosis.By then it had spread to my liver.6 years later after treatment and surgery I am still here .I strongly stress we have to advocate for ourselves. My gut instinct was right.
Prayers, hugs and positive vibes for you🙏❤🙏❤
Love and prayers🥰💜🙏
Eduardo best wishes!!!! Thanks for your story~
in Japan the stomach is screened regularly (more cases of stomach cancer there). prevention should be put in first place.
Why is there high rate of stomach cancer in Japan? Is it because of their raw fish/ sushi?

These Dr need to be held accountable for lying. No one is never too young to have anything these days.
What do you think led to your disease. .?
Do you change your diet? Any difference?
im a HUGE fan of immuno, and would skip the chemo if they told me i had to do both. i hear so many good things for those that ONLY did immuno. thats the way of the future for cancer fighting. and i agree, they should screen for it for everyone just like ladies get annual mamograms no matter. i did have h. pylori a couple months back, they think its gone now with treatment and thats a HUGE cause of stomach cancer. my gramma died of that, so i need to get checked further.

It’s a good thing you got a second opinion and your doing well. Doctors are seeing a rise in younger people getting diagnosed with late stage cancers and linking it to the Covid vaccine.
Dear lord, why so young?
🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍
